It can weird and counter intuitive for a smart guy to "dumb himself down".

What does that really mean???

Santa gives a good example of presenting yourself as knowledgeable in an area that she is interested in. That's good. Of course, in order to do that, you first have to be smart enough to find out what her interests are while still maintaining her attention and keeping things more lighthearted rather then serious.

I thought about it today. Here is how I "dumb myself down" around dumb chicks:

-I simplify my speech and slow down. I use less words and no big words.

-I change topics more quickly then if I were talking to a smart person. Often, I change topics before a solid explanation was discussed.

- I try to understand her perspective rather then try to get her to understand my per[perspective.

- I listen to her to try and identify her interests, insecurities, etc. I then probe and explore these issues playfully.

- I focus more on humor and fun rather then "intelligence".

- I don't worry about "logic" and instead have fun with "illogic". (pop culture, astrology, attraction, etc.)

- I understand that sometimes Social Skills are more important then intellectual skills.

I've never picked up a dumb girl sober, as bad as it sounds. However, get me moderately drunk and let alchohol disengage my logical brain and it is easy a nothing. The best mindset is not to get too hung up on your own intelligence or logical mind, because the truth is that it is fun to engage the average not so smart chick if you are able too. Great post, you inspired me to be more persistent. I've always been a take it or leave it guy -- if it doesn't happen right then, I don't pursue it any further than that. But looking at how you handle things showed me that I've probably got a few notches on the table that I could be working on.

Yeah, I had a week to get back to her and since she had ignored me for a week previously, I waited 48 hours to get back to her.

I think Gio has got this down pat but I would add one thing. I use to have the same problem and I still do to some extent - dealing with dumb girls. But I have learned that the first rule should be NOT to think of them as dumb. A girl may not be the smartest cookie in the jar but it doesn't mean she can't tell when someone thinks she's stupid. If you begin to come across as condescending, she will pick up on this, and won't like it. The moment you start thinking a girl is stupid you will change the way you interact with her and she will detect this. It is always better to find something positive about someone and focus on that, like their physical beauty.

Now I don't think of girls as dumb or smart, just different. Far worse than a dumb girl, are the ones that think they are smart and don't shut up. Some of the best sex I have ever had were from girls that weren't the brightest girls around, and they knew this, so they compensated for it by being better in other ways.
