Differences among Scandinavian countries?
01-13-2011, 12:10 PM
Just for the sake of convenience I want to include Finland and Iceland in the group of Scandinavian countries. If you have traveled or lived in at least 2 of these 5 countries then please write any noticeable differences among them in terms of
1. Girls (quality, ease of lay and attitude)
2. Attitude (both men and women) towards foreigners
3. Nightlife
I'll start. I have been to Iceland and Denmark.
Girls: Per capita more hot girls in Copenhagen than in Iceland but the girls are much. much easier in Reykjavik.
Attitude: I started random interesting conversations with people on the streets and was really impressed with the friendliness of the people in Reykjavik. Copenhagen, the complete opposite.
3. Nightlife: Did not get a proper nightlife experience in Cph as I was there on a weekday. Reykjavik. Well its a small city, for that I would say the nightlife was ok.

Sweden and Norway.
Girls - This is a close race, yes we all know about swedish girls but norwegian girls aren't too shabby. Although I had fun in Stockholm, I found the girls in Oslo to be a bit bolder.
Attitude - Swedes win this one, even the dudes are chilled. Guess I would be too if I had to look at those girls everyday.
Nightlife - Sweden wins again. Stockholm is very trendy, which is ok by me.
I am off to Iceland in a few months and curious to see how it is.

I have read before somewhere that girls from iceland are the sluttiest alive, they have that ''hit'' mentality like most guys.

I am scandinavian, and I would say that in terms of ease of hooking up, quality and so on the girls are quite similar (Iceland might be easier, I've never been there, but I imagine that due to their isolated position it's easy for a foreigner to stand out in a positive way).
The only difference I would worry about, is that DK by far have more relaxed politics on nightlife, which makes it a better place if one's sole objective is to hit on girls. If you can afford to pay 17 dollars for a beer, then Norway might be interesting. Swedish clubs and bars always close early, and in fact it is the only place in my life, I've been refused being served in a bar, since the bartender felt I was too drunk.

One of my best friends is from Iceland, he came here to Canada to go to school and we'd go out dogging every weekend with our other friends and he'd be so frustrated by how cold the woman of Vancouver were. I hadnt travelled much at that time so I didnt know any better I assumed it was like that everywhere. He'd tell stories about home I thought yeah sure hot chicks that are all over you like that happens, but I went back with him during a semester break and he wasnt lying. I was only there the week, I was directly hit on multiple times a day, never had experienced that before, itd happen on occassion in Vancouver but nowhere near the frequency and with the agressiveness I found there. Id say I got laid more in Mexico just cause of the atmosphere and type of girls that went but i dont think I ever had it easier than I did in Iceland in terms of actual picking up. It does take some getting used to, but the women for the most part were intelligent, well spoken and very open. They loved that I was a bit of a novelty as a Canadian and Im an east indian male but very light skinned so people in general have trouble placing me so seemingly every girl would like to play the guess what I was game and whatever they seemed happiest with I was cool being lol I didnt think it had the hottest women around but there was enough selection that I didnt have to settle for anything 7 and under. Hes moved here so I havent had an excuse to get back and I havent done any other part of Europe yet but the comparison shall come very soon.

I noticed on the Swedish club sites, the girls are pretty 'glam' ed up (which is hot). Are clubs in Oslo, Cope, Helsinki the same way? I know Scandinavian have a lot of style, but it seems the Swedes really take it to another level. Just wondering if the other Scandinavian big cities are the same.

Easiest in Finland....probably followed in distant second by Norway.
Black guys seem to always rave about Sweden, so it may be a different ball game over there if you have the right look, but I know I wasn't feeling a lot of love myself back in the day.

Yep. Quality in Norway is higher though.

Mystik,
"I went there after spending time in Barcelona, maybe that was the reason I found it to be extremely boring. Spanish girls are hard but Barcelona is one of my favorite cities in the world because of its amazing vibe."
I have never been to Copenhagen, but Barcelona in May is a hard act to follow (I was there last May): beautiful weather, beach, city, "city on beach", fly girls from all over the world, sick nightlife, dope art, insane architecture, mind blowing grinds, etc etc etc
Following one of the worlds best cities during maybe the best month of the year is a almost unfair to another city.

I was in Stockholm in June: extremely hard to get in the clubs.
I managed to get in one club the second night (Bern's) just because I had dinner in the restaurant...
I was very low energy that night because of an illness but did not find the place easy to game...any hint?

I think a guy would inevitably pull ass in Sweden if you stayed there long enough.
Beyond the short-term nut busting, then what?
Cost of living is expensive, dining and entertainment options are nothing to write home about, and many long-term ex-pats find the pressure towards conformity (even when it comes to professional success and income) to be stifiling (see Jante Law).
I do really appreciate what the Nordic countries have to offer: beautiful women, English-friendly, functional societies that work, and relatively clean urban design.

I met some hot Finnish women in Tallinn. Unfortunately they were only there for weekends. Couldn't get a bang in that short of time. One group invited me to Helsinki but my lazy ass didn't get motivated to get on the ferry. They were easy to open and seemed DTF. Not sure if it was b/c they were on holiday or not.
Ex.1- Somehow I ended on the top bunk. A chick had come in late that night and took the bottom bed. In the morning I climbed down the ladder im tight boxer brief donning a major pee stiffie. The chick was peeping out of the covers to check me out. My cock was about 18" from her face. She was fucking mesmerized and didn't take her eyes off it. Ok, so that was a little embarrassing but what a way to open. I saw her later and she was beet red and giggly. Oh yeah, she was a solid 8.
Ex.2- Eight hot Finnish girls were in the adjacent room. I went to take a piss shirtless, and one that fucking looked like Bjork eeked out a "hi". I smiled and waved. When I went to put clothes on and open the set they were gone. I saw them later in the day and they were very approachable and talkative. Unfortunately they left the next morning.
I'm definitely gonna hit Helsinki later this year.

Luckystar - are you a Torontonian as well?
Subuatai you have raised some valid points. After my first Stockholm trip I was convinced I had found Mecca, once I looked into the job prospects then I realized it is a tough place to live. I think Swedes have a time finding jobs, so imagine how tough it would be for me. Norway, I really enjoyed but it seemed a little quieter and alot like my country Canada - which to be honest has more prospects.
Summer is a happening time in Sweden but my best trip was in January, alot of swedes tend to go on holiday in the summer so be careful.
Aliblahba - I enjoyed your post, i dated a finnish girl and she told me about a similar ferry that goes between Sweden and Finland. Lots of drinking and crazy behaviour.
