Romeo High School bio homework question raises eyebrows, controversy

Audri Basaj, a freshman at Romeo High School, just wanted to get her bio homework on DNA done when she got to a question that stumped her.
It reads: "The sister of the mom above also had issues with finding out who the father of her baby was. She had the state take a blood test of potential fathers. Based on the information in this table, why was the baby taken away by the state after the test?"

Superintendent Nancy Campbell said the question came from a three-page assignment about blood types. It came from a website -- teachingbioformatics.com -- which the teacher has used for getting problems that have the components using the concepts the children can understand.
Campbell said the question will be revised.
"We are glad this parent brought this assignment to our attention," she said. "There is no need for any homework assignment to be offensive for parents or students."

Why is this question controversial? I know a girl who had to paternity test 5 guys (including her fiance) before determining the father of her child (surprise! it wasn't the fiance). The situation is certainly in the realm of possibilities. It doesn't pass any moral judgement, positive or negative, on the situation the mother is in. In fact I think the absence of moral judgement is probably most effective. An astute teenager in that class might realize that situation is kind of fucked up. A young boy might realize that he can't just assume he's the father if a chick says so and a young girl might realize that when she's older sleeping with 4 guys at the same time might lead to some awkward situations.
BTW it's unlikely any of the people in the test are the father of that child because a mother with type AB blood can't have a type O child. So the hospital fucked up and swapped babies.

I hope the irony isn't lost on anyone that this happened at a high school named "Romeo."
