California->Phils: Jet Lag Prevention through Sleep Shift

About 10 days to the Philippines.

I've got a long nose, white skin, wavy blondish hair ( dyed back to true youthful color from grey) and I am getting lots of interests from girls 35 years younger, up to 7s in Manila, and up to 8s in provinces ( their term for boondocks) .

There's a lot of scary shit there, it's the 3rd world: dengue, one girl's brother was killed by a drunk friend, a few girls have had measles or chicken pox while I've talked to them, one had both parents die in their 30s, most girls are sick with something-- at least a headache-- at least 1/3 of the time, and crazed Muslims in Zamboanga where even girls that like me say I shouldn't go-- there's hardly any foreigners there.

I've been pipelining with 100s of online chicks DIA FC, and they get a lot hornier at night and want to sex chat.

One thing I'm realizing is the shitty internet and phone connections is the biggest temporary but hidden blessing you could hope for.
It is really hard to have a 20 minute serious phone conversation-- this barrier to easy outside communication helps preserves the WGF for guys who actually go there.

Universal reliable broadband will equal universal Facewhoreishness.

Problem is it's 8 hours earlier there ( actually 16 hours later but 8 hours is easier to adjust for, I don't care what day of the week it is)
so I end up with some horny girl on the line at 5 am US time, 11 PM Phils time while I am passing out...

Oh, how I suffer.

So almost by accident, my sleep started to shift and I figured hey why not let it go all the way?

So I:
-- got some black extra-thick garbage bags and blacked out my room so I can sleep in the morning without getting woken
-- took a nap yesterday after noon and
-- was able to stay up until 6 AM this morning (10 PM her time) chatting to a pre-school teacher about sexual massage, and
--woke up at noon.

I've also got an anti-depression light which I'm using to try to nudge my cycle towards theirs.

My hope is the listlessness and depression I feel now due to sleep adjustment will be gone by the time I drop in , in sync, to the Phils.

Last trip to Ukraine at about 53 years old it took me about a week after arrival to have any sex drive re-emerge, which wasted a lot of time.

I met a gentlemen on a plane out to LHR one time and he swore that by not eating on the plane it helped with his jet lag. In some ways, I guess maybe it makes sense. Guys swear by Intermittent Fasting, gives your body a break. Probably helpful to do what you can to treat your body well, while it is traveling thousands of miles.

Did a quick search and found this article. Hope it helps. http://thepointsguy.com/2012/06/how-to-b...y-fasting/

IKE,

I had to chuckle when you said "provinces (their term for boondocks)" since we adopted the term 'province' from the West (Spanish: provincia) and the West adopted the term 'boondocks' from Filipinos (Tagalog: bundok or mountain), so in actuality, it is the other way around! Hehe

I tried this body-hacking technique I read somewhere... Regarding the Circadian systemic nature of the body. It says that the body clock adjusts itself based on when you take in sustenance, in other words, it adjusts based on when you stop eating and start eating. So, last Sept when I went home to Manila from California, I stopped eating for 8 hours to mimic being asleep even though I was wide awake, and took my breakfast along with the rest of the Filipinos, and for me at least, it worked. No jet lag after doing it!

Anyhow, you are going to have a great time there man! Which provinces you get to go to?

You are flying west to the Philippines but you fly East to Ukraine (from US). Big difference. Always easier to adjust flying west. Too bad you don't have any modafinil; that would help staying awake. How long are you going for? I adjusted to the time difference in about 4 days. Don't sleep during the day.

Garbage bags? Shit, get a sleep mask. $9-10 on Amazon. I really think you are over-preparing for this.

Jet lag for me is always worse coming back to the USA from east Asia than it is arriving in China or the Philippines. Coming back to the USA, up to two weeks later, I'm still waking up too early sometimes (4-5 AM). I think actually part of it is subjective, in that life begins earlier in China so I don't mind being awake at 4-5 AM, and also, the USA is behind us so I can make work calls and be useful and productive. Being awake at 4AM in Vegas, unless I want to go to a club or an after-hours or casino (I don't), well, there is not much to do at that time. However, the desire to nap when I head back to Vegas in the afternoons during the first week is basically insurmountable. I become a total zombie. Way worse going east. I'd definitely suggest trying to avoid alcohol or anything dehydrating on the trip, which is basically from mainland China often 24 hours of travel to Vegas, if you count getting to the airport, waiting for flights, a connection in one or more places (typical could be Manila-LA or Tokyo-LA, sometimes I do HK-Inchon-LV on Korean Air or Cathay has HK-LA and then connect to LV), and those are shorter by a few hours. That long period of time in transit definitely doesn't help.

Strip away judeo-christian ethics ingraining sex is dirty/bad & the idea we're taking advantage of these girls disintegrates. Once you've lost that ethical quandary (which it isn't outside religion) then they've no reason to play the victim, you've no reason to feel the rogue. The interaction is to their benefit.

Don't worry IKE. Those Filipinas will have you up to speed in no time. They can be sexually demanding little wenches [Image: banana.gif]

Or just find girls who work in call centers. They work on US time, so they will be awake at the same time you are in the US.

It's actually a pretty big subculture there. I've been to some mini-malls that cater just to this crowd, and the places are packed at 11pm or whenever the start of shift is.

I suggest just stay out all night with the whores until your body adjusts by itself.

I swear by the following cocktail to beat jet lag on long international flights:

Xanax 0.5mg (1mg if not benzo-naive) + benadryl 50mg + melatonin 1.5mg

Unless you are a veteran benzo user, this will knock you the fuck out for a good 8 hours within 20-30 minutes, even if you take it in the middle of the day (if you regularly take a lot of benzos or are a heavy drinker, increase the Xanax dose accordingly and consider increasing the benadryl to 75mg). Take it a little over 8 hours before you want to wake up. For most flights from the US to Europe (which are around 8-9 hours), that means eating the pills a few minutes after takeoff, as long as your arrival time (local time) is at a reasonable waking hour.

This has never failed to help me get over jet lag almost immediately on landing; just remember to think carefully about the timing of your dose, taking care to take the meds about 8 hours before the local time at your destination when you would like to wake up.

I am just doing a sampler now because I plan on going back for a much longer period after another contract stint.

So I know I'm not staying in places long enough.

I'm going to do about 5 days Manila, 3. CDO, 4 Cebu, 4 Davao

hahaha

IKE, I think you may be overthinking, overgaming, and overpipelining in preparation for your arrival to the Philippines.

But I fucking love it. So keep doing it.

This may sound stupid/ignorant, but instead of blacking out your Windows, doesn't simply pulling your Blanket over your Face accomplish the same thing?
