Another dumb person gets beat up by a bus driver

There have been a few other videos on the forum.

Boy gets upset with driver, takes a cheap shot. Driver beats the piss out of him, but the bus is in motion - slow, hits a few cars. Some say he should have parked it, but I can sort of understand trying to protect yourself you might lose focus. I doubt if he said, "hold on young man let me park first then continue swinging" would have worked. Driver gets fired, only kid gets charged. Mother of kid wants driver charged (of course you dumb bitch who raised a shithead kid).

Driver has some guns. Kid had the dumbest reason for starting it. 106 seconds of your life to watch!

On this link - a reporter goes to the driver's apartment - and you see he is fairly well spoken and pretty huge.

Kid should have had his ass beaten severely.

But of course it's society's fault he punched the driver in the face.

The fact that the kid's mother wanted the driver to be charged for defending himself explains why the little dumbass took the swing in the first place.

Obviously he was raised in an environment with zero accountability, and most likely no father present. So he thinks he can lash out physically without consequence whenever he feels offended. The epidemic of single mothers has created a lot of these young bitch men, who don't understand the power of masculine violence. They think it's a game or something.

Bus driver taught him a lesson every man needs to learn: don't let your mouth (or in this case, your faggoty, limp-wristed punch) write checks that your ass can't cash.

I agree with the bus driver beating the kid up, but by not stopping the bus first, he could have killed pedestrians or other passengers. If I was his supervisor, I would have punished him for that reason, not for the justifiable beat down.

^I don't know.

He was being attacked and he only seemed to fight the kid as long as he needed to in order to ensure his own safety.

However, that didn't seem to leave much time to put the bus in park. I don't think that he could have adequately protected himself and be expected to remember that the vehicle was in drive. He was unexpectedly attacked, I don't see how anyone could blame him for getting into an accident.

For all he knew, he may have been fighting for his life, since the kid could have easily had a knife.

Job should be given back.

When someone cold-cocks you or sucker-punches you, you're going to see "red". Meaning, you're going to immediately go into survival mode, and go on the attack. The fact that the driver leaped into action was a normal response. He can't be expected to calmly, coolly, and collectedly pull the emergency brake and take the keys out of the ignition. Or at least that's how I see it.

I think the real reason they fired him was not out of any fabricated concerns for safety. That's just an excuse. It was out of a craven attempt to "compromise" with the family of the kid, and to make it look like there was "fault on both sides". Typical spinelessness. Nobody wants to point the finger and assess the blame where it belongs. The kid to me is 100% at fault.

He endangered the lives of everyone on the bus by attacking the operator.

Politics, politics.

A man has a right to defend himself from physical attack, period. This was an unprovoked assault. The use of force--even deadly force--in self defense is allowed in every state as long as a person has a reasonable belief of the danger of bodily harm.

There is an epidemic of young, shiftless, uncalibrated youths who have zero impulse control. They are raised with no restraints on their instincts, the culture here mollycoddles them and feeds them victimization fantasies, and so they come to believe that they can do whatever they want.

And that's the really frightening thing here.

damn this about 20 minutes away from me. sucks that the guy got fired, but i have a feeling that has more to do with the preventable accidents, since a CDL is needed to operate the bus this probably put on the high end of allowable offenses. hell maybe the kid will learn something from this.

The bus driver did the right thing, aside for not properly stopping the bus.

He shouldn't have been fired. He did something good for society, which in this case was teaching a young thug the type of lesson a young thug can understand.

Corporal punishment needs to be returned to the schools. The bus driver is doing the job that many a principal or teacher would have probably loved to do. Now it has gone too far.

I totally agree. The reporter said the kid "started punching the driver", so it was probably not just one punch, but an ongoing attack. And I assume since he was driving, it came from behind as a surprise. So if someone starts punching a man repeatedly on the head from behind, it will automatically trigger a fight or flight response that is not controllable. It taps into your primal fear, and unless you're a trained martial artists with plenty of experience or a street fighter veteran, the surge of adrenaline and other chemicals going through your body will render your reasoning abilities null very fast. You will be in survival mode, lose your peripheral vision and your fine motor skills. Your body will be instantly put into fighting mode. Considering that kind of attack combined with the element of surprise, I think it's a general human response to fight back without even being able to think clearly.

Years ago this wouldn't even be news.

Oh America America how great has thou become
Where 15yo punks can kick and punch
Bus drivers working in the slums

At least the prosecutors have a quarter of a brain and said it's the teen bitch ass kid's fault solely.

There is still a lot of charity in the world. Sometimes when bad things happen to good people, others step in and pick that person up and dust them off. The driver did no wrong, and the news kept him in a good light, and I'm sure local businessmen or management took note. Someone will offer him a job. No worries there, and the accident shouldn't affect his CDL.

Why don't busses have a kill switch that puts them in a safe mode if the driver gets out of the seat for any reason? Seems like a pretty common sense thing to have on any form of public transportation where the incapacitation of a single driver puts people in harms way.

The kid is an idiot, the bus driver was right to beat his ass, but he should have secured the vehicle as he has responsibility to the other 30 people on the bus.

The kid should definitely face charges but I don't see the point of charging him with a felony. Charging him with a couple misdemeanors, making sure he does some time and a lot of community service is better than making him answer "Yes" to having been arrested for a felony for the rest of his life. Juvey, community service, and the assbeating might not prevent him from becoming a real criminal, but charging him with a felony will ensure that he does.

In a sane society, this is how it would play out:

The bus driver beats the kid up (as actually happened).

The school and town stand behind the bus driver for his actions.

The kid gets expelled from school, and must pay for the damages to the cars hit by the bus and issue a public apology to the bus driver.

And that's that.

Instead, what do we have? A case that will wind its way through the costly court system and a man fired for defending his manhood and his dignity. The kid may sit in jail for months or years, and become a bona fide criminal from all the 'mentorship' opportunities there.

It's all of a piece with the liberal mindset, which distrusts the judgment of upstanding men to keep order - the use of violence must everywhere always be confined to the state; violence by anyone but the government is grossly illegal, including self-defense, as the government replaces common men as protectors and providers of order.

You're probably right in the specifics, but the state of parenting and fatherhood specifically nowadays is so shoddy that many fathers are fathers in name only. The mother, like this one, is a feral defender of her child regardless of his guilt, while the father is too pussy to step in in the name of common sense.

We've all seen that chick who lets a little dog run her around the park, because she doesn't have the balls to pull back on the leash and show the bitch who's boss. And there are tons of parents like that too. The only time they show some balls is when someone else steps in and tells their kids to shape up - and of course, by then the parents are in the wrong. By their body language, these parents are saying, 'my child is superior to me, I have no say in telling my child what to do or how to behave.' And of course, these are the kids that need to be disciplined the most.

I call it 'free range chicken child-rearing.' Not only do these parents refuse to let other upstanding adults to act in loco parentis as happened in generations past, the parents themselves refuse to fulfill their role as parents. Chances are, the kids in two parent families grow up in nicer surroundings where they don't grow up as thuggish, so things don't quite go awry as much.

Obviously they don't do this in case some crazy guy wires the bus with a bomb that will explode if the bus drops under 50 mph.

Thing is if the kid got lucky and knocked the bus driver out cold and the bus continued to roll forward hitting those cars they'd charge the kid with all sorts of offense's.
What's worse would be if the bus rolled and seriously hurt or killed some people while the driver was knocked out.

Maybe the transit unions need to fix how operator assaults are dealt with. Where they are given a certain amount of leeway when they're attacked so they dont automatically lose their job for defending themselves.

Watch the full video and notice the moment the fight start, he was attacked while the bus was moving and the punk grabs him, you cant expect him to safety stop the bus while he is getting punches, the punk was the first to put everyone lives in danger.

Serious question: If a female bus driver had been attacked by a violent young male -- would she have been fired because the bus ended up striking a couple vehicles at 5 m/h while she defended herself?

He had a reason, but it was almost like a girl thinking. Got mad and acted on emotion. Not at all asking, "what the fuck did I do, or have been doing, to warrant a possible punishment.

"According to the police report, the 135-pound boy later admitted, "I was mad that he was going to suspend my bus pass, so I got up and punched him in the face."

It wasn't like he was getting his bus pass suspended for no good reason, apparently he had been a problem for a little while.
