So I was out Saturday night doing a pretty good job with a cute redhead, even working through a best friend cockblock by getting her on my side with " Your friend seems cool... got any pointers?". When I come back ( 15 minutes maybe) some other guy is talking with her. Instead of getting in the conversation and trying to assert myself over him in some manner I just shrug it off, game with a couple more chicks there (within her sight) and generally just enjoy myself (this I was pretty happy I did rather than stand by and slink away. baby steps. ). Swung by later after the other guy and her had stopped talking and started up where I left off, number closed. However, I felt that the momentum would've been greater for more physical opportunities if not for the other guy.
This is always a situation I have had a hard time handling and a pretty common one I assume. I can feel myself start getting self conscious and upset that I didn't know what to do or lack of balls to go about it, but fought it off by being social.
What do some of you guys do when facing competition and maybe a few suggestions for different situations? Was it a mistake to leave at all even when trying to convey you aren't there just for her?
