Above is an alledgend photogpraph of an elderly Hitler. But the face has been blurred out - I am guessing this is to increase suspense for the books publication.

cardguy, do you believe all the rubbish you read on the internet? A well-educated man like you should be aware of the fact that Hitler survived the war in his Antarctic fortress.

I just thought it was an interesting story. I don't believe it - but they are digging some guy's body for DNA tests.

The idea of Hitler escaping from Berlin was one that always fired my imagination.

The Daily Mail runs crazy stories like this all the time.

But yeah I'm a fucking idiot either way! :-)

There is no base in Antarctic - anybody with common sense understands the falsehood of these jumbo theories and knows that the fact that Hitler was the greatest villain the wolrd has ever seen (as confirmed by documentary series: "castle Wolfenstein" and "Indiana Jones") knows that the real secret nazi base, which keeps functioning till present day is on the Moon!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hV4Jb3Wna5g

Thats right on every moonlit night as you gaze upon the moon - there is a Nazi looking back on you, in his Moon teleskope!

There they are plotting the return of third reich on Earth as it is on the Moon. They plot swarming our planet with an army made from clones of Hitler. They are there growing - there are entire fields of them - and when they come of age they will be given UFO's, laser guns and orgone weaponry designed by clones of Tesla in their laborotory at Mare Vaporum.

TDM, The Sun, Guardian, etc are the MASTERS of click bait. They invented that shit with newspapers. All hail the British press.

Yeah - the press in England is very different to the press in America. It took me along time to realise this (I'm English - and always assumed the US press would be the same or worse).

Basically - in the UK - everybody knows that 50% of the stories in the papers are hyped up, exagerrated or not true. Very few are made up completely - but the driving factor behind stories is how interesting and fun they are. And not how important or how truthful they are.

In the UK - all papers have a helping of the sort of stories you see in The National Enquirer. Although to be fair - The Guardian does this much less often than other papers.

Because of this. Ironically - the story which most often turns out to be bullshit is the story which is on the front page of the paper. Every day there is a front page in one of the paper's proclaiming a sudden medical breakthrough which will save millions of lives. But usually - it is just a medical paper which is still in the early stages of research. My motto now is that if it is on the front page - it probably isn't true.

Didn't the Russians eventually DNA test a fragment of Hitler's skull to prove that he was indeed killed in the Berlin bunker in '45?

yeah, it seems like the news cycle is much faster in the UK, as if these stories whiz by every hour. Even stories you would think would small news in the US get blown up and hyped in the UK by the press, I loved it when I was there, how deeply expressive the news people are, like they are even Shakespearian trained!

The skull believed to be Hitler's (it even has a bullet hole) and held for years by the Russians turned out to be the skull of a woman.

President Harry Truman asked Soviet leader Josef Stalin at the Potsdam Conference in 1945 if Hitler was dead. Stalin simply said; "No!"

After a long and thorough investigation, Field Marshall Gregori Zhukov told Josef Stalin;
"We have found no corpse that could be Hitler's."

12 October 1945, General Bedell Smith, Eisenhower's Chief of Staff, said;
"No human being can say conclusively that Hitler is dead."

The Commanding General of the US Sector of Berlin, Major General Floyd Parks, stated for publication that he was present when Marshal Zhukov stated that Hitler might have escaped.

Thomas J. Dodd, the U.S. Chief Trial Counsel at Nürnberg, said;
"No one can say Hitler is dead."

Colonel W. J. Heimlich, Chief of U.S. Intelligence in Berlin, was in charge of determining what happened to Hitler and after a thorough investigation, he stated;
"There is no evidence beyond that of hearsay to support the theory of Hitler's suicide. On the basis of present evidence, no insurance company in America would pay a claim on Adolf Hitler."

Nürnberg Judge Michael Mussmanno wrote in his book 'Ten Days to Die' that;
"Russia must accept much of the blame that Hitler did not die in May 1945."

In his book 'Frankly Speaking', Secretary of State Jimmy Byrnes wrote;
"While in Potsdam at the conference of the Big Four, Stalin left his chair, came over and clicked his liquor glass with mine in a very friendly manner. I asked what was his theory about the death of Adolf Hitler and he replied - Hitler is not dead. He escaped either to Spain or Argentina."

The magazine Diario Illustrade of Santiago, Chile published an article on 18 January 1948 in which it reported on an incident at Templehof Airfield on 30 April 1945. The writer was friends with a gunner in a Ju 52 that had young SS troops for the defense of Berlin. He reported this;
“During this refueling operation he was suddenly elbowed in the ribs by his radio operator with a nod to look in a certain direction. At about 100 - 120 meters he saw a sleek ARADO AR 234. He and the radio operator saw, without any doubt whatsoever, standing in front of the jet, their Commander in Chief, Adolf Hitler dressed in field-grey uniform and gesticulating animatedly with some Party functionairres who were obviously seeing him off. For about ten minutes whilst their plane was being refueled the two men observed this scene and around 4:30pm they took to the air again. They were extremely astonished to hear during the midnight military news bulletin some seven and a half hours later, that Hitler had committed suicide."

An article published in August 1952 entitled 'Hitler did not die' was subtitled;
"Adolph (sic) Hitler's fake suicide in Berlin Bunker is now exposed as History's greatest hoax."

In 1952, US President Dwight Eisenhower said;
"We have been unable to unearth one bit of tangible evidence of Hitler's death."

Captain Robert Thew (ONI then NSA) flatly stated;
"We (the intelligence community) knew that Hitler did not commit suicide."

Would his desire for power or his mental instability allow a man like like Hitler to exist in total anonymity for the rest of his life?

Exactly my thoughts.

One cannot be a man who games a whole nation into world wide war and then just live peacefully in a tropical paradise. He would rather shoot himself.

Not only is it illogical, it's completely irrelevant. He could have went on to bang all of Thailand and the world (or even local) history wouldn't have changed one bit. The satisfaction from his defeat had already been achieved, and how his life ended was pretty meaningless.

I believed he escaped along with Eva Braun, the bit about a black girlfriend and living in Brazil is nonsense. The dental records of the corpse they found in the bunker was not Hitler's. Also he was known to have body doubles, similar to Saddam.

I thought they found Hitler's teeth and his dentist confirmed they were his.

On a serious note, a lot of nazis made it to SA, especially Argentina because Peron was a fascist himself. Maybe not big ones like Hitler, Bormann, etc., but mid-ranking SS guys who executed whole villages and stuff lived out their days on a beach somewhere down there. I can see why people still think big-time nazis were able to get there, but the fact that the Russians had completely surrounded Berlin and were pretty much shooting everyone and anyone in a uniform or otherwise makes even getting 50 yards from the Fuhrerbunker nonsense.

I wouldn't be surprised if something like this were true. With bin laden, photos wouldn't matter and even a corpse can be faked for display.

Hitler would have died by now and bin laden seems to be out of power now so it doesn't matter really.

A story like this just makes those South American governments look really bad, and the allies inept.

You ever see the show Nazi Hunters or some such on the History Channel? Interesting stuff. The episode detailing the capture, trial, and execution of Adolf Eichmann was quite fascinating.

There was another episode that I also found fascinating. Some Nazi official was found in country A, kidnapped, and taken to country B for extrajudicial execution - the idea being that if the agents involved were caught, country B did not use capital punishment.

The Soviets confirmed that they had Hitler's body through dental records. A lot of the "conspiracy theories" don't add up if you look at all the facts.
