Nothing makes me hate a man faster than this trait.
Fewer dads in the homes. Few male teachers. No male guidance counselors. Colleges full of women. Wall-to-wall women on TV. "Empowered" female bosses.

Totally agree, but I have a solution.
I found that I identified with masculine TV/film characters like Don Draper and James Bond. So I started modeling myself after them and therefore changing some of my mannerisms. With James Bond, however, you have to be very careful. My opinion is that Connery is probably the best for young men to model themselves after, and that while watching Moore can be painful, you could do worse than emulating him in Live and Let Die.
I would not recommend Brosnan or Craig, though I think Casino Royale is the best if you want to use Craig.

I've been noticing this starting in Chicago. Its not not a full blown problem yet, but I noticed it a lot more in L.A.
The other thing I noticed was guys with effeminate voices had more girls around them. I guess its not as intimidating. I used to be complimented on my deeper voice, but now these high frequency talkers get the attention. Just an observation.

Back in Australia for the first time in years, the way people and especially men speak is amazing to me. Rising terminals have always been a thing here, but it's gotten worse. There are prominent newsreaders sounding like Oxford St queens.
