This is an interesting thread with some good insights, I recently spent a month in Medellin and almost lost my marbles dealing with the local women, the flakiness was so bad that after a couple of weeks I just said "fuck it" and focused on hitting the gym and studying Spanish. I had a prepaid phone and my smart phone but only had WiFi at home. Just put like 20k COP in the phone and just call them, they can't call or text you because they never have minutes. WhatsApp can be nice but it can be a pain when other girls are near. Of course, set it to vibrate when on a date or they'll know the ringtone.

Great post Scotian. For me, online game was a bust in Colombia (I used Badoo). I gave it up before heading to Medellin. I spent only 12 days there, which is hardly enough in my opinion to get somewhere with girls, unless yo get lucky or are absolutely focusing on meeting girls. I met girls through social circle and at night, but didn't have enough time to have success due to the flakiness.

My buddy always sets up multiple dates when he's free, two or sometimes three. If a girl shows up the cancels on the others. You need a lot of numbers to be able to do this.

Three out of four fucked on the first date, that's a great result. Where these CC girls? Can you provide a bit more insight in how you setup your dates and how you end up banging? Yes I have a local sim in my iPhone with data. If my iPhone wouldn't be unlocked, I'd buy and old one just for this purpose as for me whatsapp is essential. It offers so many good uses. For example:

Other observations:

-A lot of these girls are quite busy between work and/or school, some of them have long commutes too and just don't have the time to meet up during the week. Its frustrating but keep pushing for the week day afternoon or night dates, you'll get them eventually.

-Many of them have lots of time off during Christmas season, students have about a month, so December can be a good time to vacation here. I would suggest arriving in early December, pipeline and meet as many girls as you can then when they are all on holiday you can see them more often, or even take them out of town with you.

-I don't think Medellin is a total write off for foreign guys as some may think, but then again, I'm not chasing the 8+ bomb shells in Parque Lleras, if that's your style then you better bring a lot to the table, as has been wrote on here many times before. There's still plenty of cute, young girls running around the city in the 6/7 range who are down to date foreigners. Honestly I don't think that a month is really enough down here, especially if it is your first time, it takes time to get used to the dating scene here and if you experience the level of flakiness that I have, you may go bonkers and give up.

Its frustrating but keep pushing for the week day afternoon or night dates, you'll get them eventually.

-I inadvertently came up with a decent idea to get them to come out, as I mentioned in the girl #3 story above, I actually wanted a local to come with me to centro to help me buy a bag (another time it was sneakers) and negotiate better prices and the girls agreed to that a lot easier than asking to go out on an evening date.

-Many of them have lots of time off during Christmas season, students have about a month, so December can be a good time to vacation here. I would suggest arriving in early December, pipeline and meet as many girls as you can then when they are all on holiday you can see them more often, or even take them out of town with you.

-I don't think Medellin is a total write off for foreign guys as some may think, but then again, I'm not chasing the 8+ bomb shells in Parque Lleras, if that's your style then you better bring a lot to the table, as has been wrote on here many times before. Thanks, not sure how much of an authority on Colombia I am though, as I've mentioned, I've only been here for about 6 months in total and am still making some rookie mistakes from time to time. So last night we had a RVF meet up in Lleras, 5 guys showed up, I thought I was just going to have lunch and maybe a beer or two, I ended up staying there for around 7 hours and drank a bunch of beers. Most of the guys left but one RVF member (I forget what his name is on here) winged me and we bounced with these two girls I know (girls #3 from the above post and her friend). We take these girls to la 70 to drink there as we're both styaing in nearby hotels, bought a bottle of arguadiente and did some dancing. My wing man was a smooth operator and was making out with his girl but for fuck sakes these girls wouldn't leave back to our hotels. I feel that the girls that come from poorer areas tend to be more on time and have not flaked on me. My thought behind this is that they don't have as many better off guys coming at them and they aren't in as many public places where better off guys are talking to them. I was 5 minutes late to meet a girl at the metro station and she used a pay phone to call my cell. I was kind of surprised how she came on time.

I did have a few of the better off girls show up a few minutes late but they weren't girls that I was dating, they were friends I made on the way.. they even paid for my beers, etc.

Yeah maybe you're right, I had one girl do they same, calling me on my cell. Although she was 30 minutes late. I'm also starting to think the poorer / younger girls give it up quicker, based on my own experience and of my friends. Anti flake defense

Over the last few days I've been on a bunch of dates and I finally got some of the flakiness that people rave about. In fact, monday I had three dates setup and two of them flaked.

The third one was the waitress at Parque 10 hotel that I made out with on our first date. She whatsapped me 45 min after our meetup time that she was in a meeting or something. When she was finally done, I told her that I didn't have much time and that if she wanted to see me she could come to my place. She did, and 10 minutes after her arrival we were banging.

One of the girls that flaked on me I had already hooked up with. I gave her shit for it, telling her I was busy and not to waste my time and if she couldn't be on time then I won't see her again. She seemed to react well, apologizing and promising to be good. We'll see if she makes good on her promise.

I had another girl flake yesterday. This was a first date, so I'm not sure if it comes across as weak or to much, but I decided to give her shit as well. Again she seemed to react well, but time will have to prove.

If this strategy works, I might just tell any girl up front something along the lines of:

"Listen I'm here on business and don't have much time, but I would really like to see you so I'm making time for you. Please respect this and don't cancel last minute or show up late. Thanks."

It seems like the girls respect guys who are working hard and do business, as almost every girl is financially dependent on a guy.

Yeah, the business approach is a double-edged sword. One of the things that is on the back of the girls mind is that you are here for a reason and you will eventually leave. I don't think any girl here likes the idea of a man being here for a certain amount of time, getting to know them on an intimate level then eventually disappear. I don't necessarily have a solution to this but I think it's something along the lines of pretending to not know when you are leaving and needing a reason to stay longer. Not sure if I got that from the book or from my friend. Either way though, I think you got a good line down.

Actually, to think of it, one of the better off girls did flake on me. We didn't setup a definitive date but she headed off to vacation in Cartagena when she told me she would meet up.

I have been studying Spanish but it just caught me off guard that the girl was saying Si everytime that a girl would scream Yes. Of course I understood what it meant haha.

What do you think about when the girls wanting to add you on facebook? Facebook is usually bad for all these types of things especially if they leave these on your wall ""

The next time I go back to Colombia I'm actually going to focus on the opposite, focus mostly on the educated girls.

Poor barrio girls have a lot of guys going after them if they are really attractive. They can have any guy going after them, the difference is that the very educated ones wont likely consider these street types as much so its a more exclusive group they are looking for. Considering your most likely educated you fit in this group.

Also I'm sick of the normal barrio girl, showing up late and then having so little to offer in any way.

It seems like the girls respect guys who are working hard and do business, as almost every girl is financially dependent on a guy.

I might lose a few girls this way, but those girls were probably going to flake anyway and since I have plenty numbers I don't really care about losing a few.

I also thought about the reason girls are so flaky. I think it has to do with the culture. It seems people find it in-polite to say 'no'. Therefore, maybe some girls agree to meet-up even though they don't really have an intention to. If that's the case, then using the line above might filter those girls out. Also, that would be an argument for not going for the meet-up to soon and build a stronger connection before going for a meet-up. I've been going for it pretty quickly as girls always agree, but if they just agree to be polite and have no intention to meet-up than that obviously isn't very productive.

Yeah, the business approach is a double-edged sword. One of the things that is on the back of the girls mind is that you are here for a reason and you will eventually leave. I don't think any girl here likes the idea of a man being here for a certain amount of time, getting to know them on an intimate level then eventually disappear. Wrt Facebook, I only see it work if they have a smartphone so that you can communicate with them when they are away from home. But if they do, they have whatsapp.

Btw, you are aware of the FB setting where nothing is posted until you approve it right?

I go out with my friends but approach girls solo most of the time. Winging works best if girls are in sets of two, but very few are. Most are in groups so no need to have your buddy entertain anyone while you work your magic imo.

Time for an update. I've been in Medellin for a month now and leaving next week. Wanted to write down some final thoughts.

First of all, quick update on my progress. I banged three girls so far, two from CC and one that I met in a restaurant. Two of them I banged on date 2, one on date 4, the first in my second week the others in my third week. I have now met a girl that I really like, so I'm just hanging out with her. Haven't banged her yet but I take it that will happen this weekend as we're spending it in Guatape together. (Look like an amazing place btw.)

Anyway, I've had a great time here and I think it's a great place to camp out for a while. Definitely agree that it's not a place to get laid quickly, unless you lower your standards maybe. But that would be a shame with all the cute girls around.

I think enough has been said about the importance of pipelining and being very aggressive escalating sexually / physically. I thing I think is worth mentioning is the anti-flake strategy I used that worked out really well:

*pre-framing: before I meet up, I text them: "Hey are you a punctual person?" They usually answer something like "Yes, why?" Then I go: "Ok great, I'm really busy with work so I don't like it when people don't respect my time and cancel a meeting or show up late. That's great that you are not like that, I like that."

*throwing boundaries: if a chick cancels, I tell them: "Listing <name> I'm really busy with work but I wanted to meet you so I made time to see you. I could have had a business meeting if I had known you wouldn't show up. Please don't waste my time ok"

They respond very well to this, almost all girls reacted very apologetic and became quite punctual after I threw this at them. The perfect situation arises when you set up two dates at the same time and one shows up. That way, you can throw a boundary at the other one, which will prevent her from flaking next time. That way you don't waste time.

One last thing. One girl cancelled on me last minute. I was supposed to meet with her at Envy (the club on top of the Charly Hotel). She said she had to take her mom to a hospital. I had a gut feeling that she was lying, but just in case it was true I didn't want to confront her.

She later admitted to me she lied. The reason was, I had playfully asked her to wear something sexy. She told me that going to Envy wearing something sexy made her feel uncomfortable, as she thought people would judge her as a prepago. Apparently, lots of prepagos go to Envy. So instead she decided to flake. (Or, maybe she made that up as well haha.)

Mixed success with dates. Found a girl on Colombian Cupid who was into me and slept with her on a second date.

Didn't try daygame...I should have.

My Spanish is almost non existent which disqualified me with 95% of the girls I approach.
