I want an opinin from forum members who[/b] have used Kindle or Nook, Adv/Dis, also how is the transition from the bbok itself to an electronic gadget , I mean the fell of the book vs feel of Kindle.
I am leaning towards Kindle , Is nook better for any reason ?

I bought a Nook for my mom who is avid reader, and she loved it. It is also more hackable in terms of changing the firmware to add new features. A lot of Russians use it.

I just bought a Kindle a couple days ago. My friend let me play with his a while back and I really liked it. I tested the nook at the Barnes and noble and it was definitely bigger though the display was the same. The thing crashed on me as I was using it (probably because it was a demo but still not a good sign).
I like Amazon so Kindle was an obvious choice for me.

@ Roosh: Any significant advantage between buying the $ 130 one or $ 180.
I also like ordering through Amazon and just don't think Barnes and Noble Library is not as big as Amazon's.

I went with the 130 version. I don't think I'll find myself somewhere without wifi but in desperate need to buy a book. The 3g is more convenient I figure, since you don't have to enter wifi passwords.

Do any of them allow you to transfer pdf/word e-books from your computer to the e-reader? I have a big library and would ideally like to be able to just take a USB cable and transfer it. Any technical requirements that these readers come with? ie. you must download/buy from their online bookstore?

Yes Both Nook and Kindle can transfer PDF files from your PC's, From what I have gathered the quality of the picture goes down and there are some Issues with magnification.
Amazon Kindle has a much larger Library then barnes and Noble Library and there are Tons of free books available too and there are other sites that you download books from...

I have only gathered my info from the net and have ordered Kindle, will let the Forum know more after First Hand Experience........

I received my Kindle 3rd Generation and am very happy with ease of getting books and the ability to tranfer PDF books to Kindle including my Library of PUA books etc...
My main reason to to get Kindle was " Book Like Feel " I still do not like to get Newspapers on Kindle as feeling of the paper is not there, but with books Kindle has an amazing feel due to the E- Ink as the screen is not back lit there is no strain on the eye.with Kindle sometimes you forget that are reading from an electronic device and reach to turn the page.
Nook's color screen and backlit causes eye strain and I understand the multiple Apps, ability to go online, etc but I would rather get an I-pad if am looking for a multifunctioning gadget.
kindle serves as One book that has all of your library with the best feel of a book for Only $ 139.

I got to play with the Nook Tablet at Barnes and Noble today. It's their top end model at $249. I wasn't very impressed. Thought it was kinda slow opening web pages compared to my iPhone at least. The bezel is also like an inch around the screen. On paper I think it looks better than the kindle fire but I didn't like it.
Does anyone have the Kindle Fire? Do you like it? Does it play flash movies online? How's the web browsing aspect of it?
