Im interested on how they feel about Black Americans in Australia, moreso Perth. I want to hit it up Jan 2015 when its their Summer.

I had a black (English) friend who did very well in Sydney. He was pretty preppy though - rugby playing, good shape, polo shirts, khakei shorts kinda guy. Just black enough to be 'exciting', but not black enough to be 'ghetto' was how the girls described him.

You mean this dude?

But seriously as an american brotha you should get atleast an above average amount of attention. I did even though I was with the wife. Haven't been to Perth, but I did visit Sydney, Canberra, and the Gold Coast.

Love the international flair of Sydney . There's something really cool about an Asian or Malasian Indian woman with a thick Aussy accent....

An acquaintance of mine reckons Perth has a niche for bronzed, blonde girls. I haven't been since I was 7 so I can't confirm but I don't think there's a huge return of interest in terms of the city expensiveness versus what it has to offer. The rest of WA is gorgeous though, especially the Margaret River area and the northern coastline. You'll have the chance to shag European backpackers if you spend time in those parts.

Come over to the east coast. Overall, black Americans are enough of a novelty you'll be received pretty favourably. Now that I think of it, I can't remember the last time I met one here.

Canadians generally have an idealistic view of Australia, some of that was shattered when Deluge dropped some reality on me:

Just a cautionary note to anyone planning to visit Sydney, nightlife here is currently pretty much dead and dusted due to some ridiculous knee jerk licencing laws that were introduced fairly recently.

These include :

1:30am lockout in Al of cbd and kings cross precincts (basically the two largest nightlife areas) if you're not in a venue by 130 time for a cab home, if you can find one.

No shots, double measures or glassware after midnight.

No alcohol to be served at all after 3am

Venue entry and alcohol service commence again at 5am

Sydney is basically a ghost town after 130 am, the vibe and possibility to venue bounce is no longer existent.

Even harsher laws to bring forward current restrictions pre midnight are in the works for July.

This is a real shame as Sydney is a wonderful city, still fun to be had here but my advice is visit Melbourne instead, especially in winter. Hopefully these nanny state laws will be revoked soon enough once the economic impact starts to trickle up....

Sydney is all about day game and foreign girls. Even before the draconian licencing and lock out laws came into effect most venues were 70% +/- girls and very dangerous at night on the weekends (hence the reason for the new laws - very drunk, horny guys on the street late at night = lots of fights, violence and aggression which is bad for tourism and the people which have to live here)
