The logic behind Enigma's post makes sense, but it doesn't account for the fact that many guys do wind up in love. I know that's a foreign and controversial concept to some people on the forum, but it is reality for many guys, for better or worse. Thus, what worldwidetraveler is speaking to has merit. No need to bump heads. Whatever the case, even some guys on this forum will probably arrive at the same place as Dwade - or even a worse scenario - at some point in your lives (controlling for $ and fame).

But we have other examples of other handsome/rich/famous guys and marriage, or lack thereof. Look at George Clooney. The vast majority of men lack the discipline and relentless introspection to live the lifestyle we espouse. Most men buy into the conventional paradigm of man being so happy that she said yes (hence his tweet), the diamond ring, and all that sappy stuff.
This is analogous to marines who are absolute killers in the field, but they come home and let their frumpy wife run their shit. His mind is his prison, and no one can break him out of it but himself. Think of that picture of the elephant tied to a stake since it was small; it can break free at any time now but it's been conditioned so it doesn't even think twice about it.
At another level, we really need to be cautious about hating on others for doing things we believe are fundamentally wrong, or living life in a way that we disagree with. It's like if someone isn't happy in the way we think they should be happy, they're losers. Maybe this shit will work out, and maybe not. I'm skeptical, but I haven't ever been in his shoes, so maybe it makes perfect sense.

Actually, he isn't rushing. They've been together for years. Both have already been married previously. Wade went through a well-publicized divorce and custody battle with his ex for his sons. He was never the kind of guy to bang tons of groupies. I also don't remember reading that she rode tons of cocks in Hollywood either. I get how the age difference may raise eyebrows, but she looks incredible for ANY age. An actor doesn't make what a pro ball player does, but she can do what she does for much longer than him. I'm sure they'll work out the financial aspects. Remember, he's got kids to take care of, but she's somehow managed to remain childless to this point, so I'm guessing she doesn't want any of her own. I don't have a problem with this one. Both LeBron and Chris Bosh, the other two stars on the team (if you're counting Bosh as a star!) are family men too. So is Ray Allen, going WAY back. Those guys do exist.

I think it is harsh to call him beta, I bet he is more alpha than most keyboard jockeys here. He had a pretty fucked up life growing up, his first marriage ended in a crazy way and now he wants something normal. The ten year difference is a bit much, but she looks pretty good for her age and when you think about it where is she going to go.
Gretzky married an "actress" who had been around the block, he is still married to her.
Sampras also married an "actress" and I believe they are still together.

Wonder if Mr. Wade bothered to look at his life 10 years from now. He'll be 41 and still rich with an entire world of options. She'll be 51 with some C level movie parts.

I also don't get the attacks on her career. She is, and has been pretty successful. She doesn't get a lot of the mainstream Hollywood parts (the kind you guys regularly trash), but she's by no means C-level. In fact, she's held in pretty high regard. She doesn't get a lot of parts in bigger films because she's a woman of color. You can attack me for supposedly race-trolling, but that's the reality. She'll continue to get work through her 40's and into her 50's, even if the parts don't carry A-list pay checks.

I don't understand what makes this beta. Dude is in love and satified with her. Probably band 500-1000 lizards. Slowing down may be a natural progression for men of his stature. Clooney, Jeter, and Leo are exceptions and not the rule.
Do I agree with him marrying a 41 yo? Fuck no. Do I think it's better than marrying a 21 yo 9.5 bopper with no money? Yes.
In the end he knows what he is doing and what he is getting into. As long as he stop hittin the Miami lizards and stay away from pictures he ahould be fine.

The point of my original post has been completely evaded or avoided. The fact that he's marrying an old hoe (look at that dry, old woman's skin on her hand) is secondary to the way he's going about it. Marry who you want, but don't go out of your way to make a fool out of yourself in the process. That pic where that man child is in front of the almighty her on one knee supplicating to her goddess powers and she's holding him like a baby is sickening. His eyes "sparkle" with love!??? Awwww, gosh how cute Dwyane.
Dwade is doing exact opposite of how game should be played. As counter-intuitive as that sounds since he's otherwise a great player

This isn't just random nothing, these things carry actual weight in real life because Dwyane Wade is pretty big role model to certain demographic of young men. They are now receiving the message that it's perfectly fine to do these kinds of things in their own relationships. Which only perpetuates the problem further.
If you are ok with Dwade being a feminist tool of the highest order that's your prerogative, but in real men's circles this guy shouldn't get an automatic pass just because he's a minority professional athlete.
