Miley Cyrus Might Be The Next Person of the Year

With three days to go, TIME magazine has Miley Cyrus tied at 19.4% with the military leader of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Normally I'm not the one on this forum who's deploring the current state of America, but damn, really!? Everyone got so upset over her twerking with teddy bears and her twitter war with Sinead O'Connor that she's tied with a man who pulled a military coup de'tat in Egypt.

I mean I guess this

is more interesting to look at than this

but damn, has she really had more of an effect on people than anyone else over the past year?

It doesn't matter what the vote is, the magazine still chooses whomever they please. Last year I think the group Anonymous was voted 1st in the poll, and they ignored it.

The man who actually said this: "The problem is that Germany has continued to maintain highly competitive labor costs and run huge surpluses since the bubble burst — and that in a depressed world economy, this makes Germany a significant part of the problem." Paul Krugman, won a Nobel Prize for Economics.

Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize for no reason, then preceded to bomb the shit out of every brown person he could.

Comparatively speaking, Time Magazine naming Miley Cyrus "Person of the Year" denotes sounder judgement than some of the more prestigious organizations out there.

I am looking at some of the past winners including Josef Stalin, Ayatollah Khomeini, Mark Zuckerberg and Ben Bernanke. Their list seems incomplete without Adolf Hitler and Miley Cirus to round out the nonsense.

That said, they have some good choices on there like Ghandi and Nelson Mandela.

Just remember it's not "Best Person of the Year", just the person who has had the most influence over the past year.

Hitler did win in 1938.

This Person of the Year thing has really jumped the shark.

Time Magazine is for people of moderate-intelligence who believe they're of high-intelligence, appealing to a vain notion that they're both educated and informed by reading it, whilst recognising they're too passive to actually seek out information sources themselves.

Time farmed out the vote to Twitter, believing that its readership is dumb enough to vote via social media. Cyrus is exactly the Person of the Year they deserve.
