Recently finished 1984 by Orwell, Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail by Hunter S. Thompson, The 50th Law (not sure whether I actually finished this, but my kobo tells me so..), a bunch of short stories, essays and articles by various authors, and random bits and pieces of other books.

I'd recommend all of these books to RVF

I'm currently reading To Save Everything, Click Here. It's about how so many people today think all the worlds problems can be solved by "The Internet", and why that's a load of crap.

Does anyone else notice when you look up books recommended by Roosh on Amazon, Amazon then recommends Roosh and Red Pill books to you? Kind of weird.

Read Black Swan last week, and halfway through Antifragile. Both books are brilliant, and a must read. Wish the people running the world would read them.

Profound, Haunting, excellent.

A man's survival and struggle through his time at Aushwitz concentration camp during WWII, and how he derived meaning from his suffering.

Just finished David Blaine's autobiography:

Decided to read it after watching his recent special, "Real or Magic". Reminded me how incredible of a magician he is:

David's book contained a few stories of this Titanic Thompson character, who made millions betting at literally everything. Killed 5 guys and married 5 girls (always married them before they turned 18). Just finished his biography:

Currently reading Russell Brand's autobiography:

My favourite Titanic Thompson hustle:

Quote:Quote:

He once bet that he could drive a golf ball 500 yards, using a hickory-shafted club, at a time when an expert player's drive was just over 200 yards.

He won by waiting until winter and driving the ball onto a frozen lake, where it bounced past the required distance on the ice.

The guy hustled Al Capone as well.

Hitch deconstructs the myth that Mother Teresa was a selfless paragon of virtue dedicating her life to the poor and presents an alternative and more accurate depiction of a woman with a much more repugnant agenda.

Jamie Lewis is one of the best writers in the strength and bodybuilding industry. It’s so refreshing to read something that’s not the same old rehashed shit as well as being laugh out loud entertaining. The third book in his series focuses on nutrition and outlines Lewis’ own approach which has enabled him to break powerlifting world records while maintaining an enviable physique which hovers around sub 6% body-fat levels.

Upcoming Read

^ I couldn't make it more than 1/5 through the Red Queen. I found it so impossibly dry and boring. Let me know what you think though. I picked it up from Roissey's recommendation.

Since I'm getting back into my habit of reading 3-4 books per month, I'll probably be posting reviews of every book I read, sooner or later.

Roosh's review of this book included this paragraph:

Quote:Quote:

I’ll admit it was a dry work, and even with my biology background some of it still went over my head, but I’ve only scratched the surface at the amount of insight this book contains.

Probably right up my alley. A couple of years after high school, I got ahold of copies of our biology, botany, and zoology textbooks, and basically read them cover-to-cover, taking notes, etc. I love science that much.

Has anyone here read The Meditations by Marcus Aurelius? What did you think about it?

I was recently reading The Moral Sayings of Publius Syrius and The Meditations came up under the "You may also like..." category on Amazon.

I'm reading the free kindle version and even the introduction pumped me up to read it. Only read it for about 20 minutes, but I'd recommend it.

@MSW2007 - 'Griftopia' is one of the best books I have ever read. It is the best analysis of the 2008 fininancial crash I have seen. And it is one of the few books about that era which expresses the right level of anger. Too many journalists look at that even without too dispassionately for my liking.

FUCK this was an exciting, compelling read. From small time italian mobster, to Vietnam soldier, to working with Pablo Escobar. This guy has done it all. And he is an unabashed, unflinching sociopath. One of those books where random parts flash into your head days afterwards.
