Night game if the venue is right is MUCH easier than campus day game.

I have always said that there is a time for indirect and a time for direct. Many times, this is simply based on how we feel, our energy level and state, etc.

It's all about congruency. If you don't have the energy to go direct, don't. Use the method that feels right for you.

Props to your brother for getting into Stanford. If he's planning on daygaming in the nearby area, I suggest making a quick drive to San Jose State, De Anza College, West Valley college, and/or Foothill College. All of those are state/community colleges where Stanford is held in extremely high esteem. Hell, if your brother ever wants an LTR, those would be the places to look.
