A simple yet powerful mental trick: awww, how cute.

How about if a girl calls me 'cute' or says something I've done 'cute'.
A couple of girls have said 'Aww that's cute' from something I've done.
Should I try and avoid doing things that stop girls from saying this - cos i feel she puts me down when saying this.
I don't want to be cute I want to be strong and masculine.

Give examples. Very hard to comment without context, but yes, generally if a girl is saying "aww that's cute" to you a lot, that's not a good thing.
I agree with AO that in general it's a bad thing, however I think it depends on context and her
inflection. If she's saying it in a patronizing way that's most likely friendzone / little brother territory. But sometimes chicks use feminine type compliments because they just don't know any better.
It's the same reason why chicks in their mid twenties still refer to us as "boys".

Think outside the box, guys. I'm the youngest of 5 and I figured out early on how to apply the concept.
