I think most of us want to find "the one" that is above all the other girls we've been with so far. I also don't care if there is nudity in this movie or not seeing as no movie screen porn is going to be better than the real thing. I watch movies to be entertained and hope for an intelligent plot.

If the game has taught me anything it's that the more girls I'm experiencing, the less I honestly believe there really will be "the one". It's all the same shit in different color packaging is how I'm starting to see it.

Truth. All these major Hollywood movies have to deliver an ending that will please the masses. Who wants to see a movie that elevates the hunt for fresh snatch over finding your soulmate? To the typical beta, that message would be depressing, and no girl will be dragged into seeing something that recommends for her man to toss out like yesterdays stinking garbage (I mean, unless the movie has shirtless vampires and other supernatural creatures). For the studios, this means that they can have an alpha character unrepentingly racking up notches in the early and middle parts, but the last 1/3 typically will be reeking of beta. The movie's tone will dramatically shift as suddenly shit gets serious when he finds that special girl and wants to be with only her. Think Wedding Crashers.

The only movie that I can remember that didn't have the main character who's a major player reform at the end was Solitary Man. And that was no blockbuster. Am I missing any?

The movie doesn't sound so much red-pill, so I don't understand why women were pissed off by it. In my experience, it is realistic, no-bullshit-happy-ending movies like Vicky Cristina Barcelona that enrage their hamster (or stun it into shell-shocked silence).

It's pretty much on American films that have "a happy ending" as a prerequisite. There have been lots of examples of directors wanting a darker ending, but test scores were negative so they had to re-do the ending to make it happy. I don't know why that is, but it seems horrendously stupid to dislike a film just because the ending wasn't like a Disney film.

Probably the women, after all, they are just overgrown children a lot of the time.

I saw Don Jon and it was good in that there are a lot of laughs, but that's about it. The main idea isn't exactly ground-breaking - guys have unrealistic expectations about relationships in one way, and girls have unrealistic expectations in this other way - but the movie exaggerated it both ways a lot, and then the end was a bit of a fairy tale in itself.

It's very funny, but don't expect much more than that.

I saw the movie today. I liked it, had some good laughs. However, I am getting sick and tired of Julianne Moore being pushed on us by Hollywood. She is like an older equally annoying Emma Stone.

I saw it and didn't care for it too much, left before it ended. I'm not a fan of the lead actor but I should have read more thoroughly what it was about before seeing it. I thought it was about PUA and just a random 30 year old cat with the porn addiction theme on the side. It was really about Levine (?) with an annoying fake Italian-American accent/persona, his addiction to internet porn (silly porn cuts), and the weird relationship budding with him and the older woman before I left.
