BusinessInsider Mangina takes on "weird" Red Pill "cultists"

Quote:Quote:

"Welcome to The Red Pill, an Internet community on Reddit founded on the general belief that women have it better than men. Red Pill is not a dating advice bulletin, but rather a forum for people — men, mostly — exploring an ideology that revolves almost exclusively around gender. Those who "swallow the pill" maintain that it's men, not women, who have been socially disenfranchised. Feminism is considered a damaging ideology and Red Pillers are quick to cite examples that bolster their points, some going so far as to argue that society is outright anti-male. Red Pill followers have their own politics, language, and culture. And they're growing: Eight months ago, Red Pill had only 100 followers. Today, it has more than 15,000."

Quote:Quote:

"For Red Pillers, genuine reality goes something like this: Female oppression is a myth and men are the ones holding the short end of the stick. That said, men and women are inherently different due to evolution, so each gender should carry out its designated role in society. For example, females should raise children at home and men should work and have sex with women."

Roosh's prediction becomes truer every day---the manosphere was indeed "discovered" in 2013.

Well it's true that the public is generally behind the curve and society will stay politically correct until it suits otherwise.

He does look like kind of a mangina at the moment but the article seemed pretty even-handed. Maybe TRP can help him.

All in all, I thought the article was pretty well done.

I actually think he does a reasonable job of presenting everything in an unbiased way. He could have explained some things a little better, obviously, but how much more can you honestlyexpect?

For such a controversial non-PC subject and a mainstream writer, it could have been a lot worse.

I think the best way to introduce some of these concepts is NOT to say "TRP argues that men are oppressed and women are given special treatment" but rather "the RP argues that feminism and PC-obsessed media have hijacked gender issues to create a society with dysfunctional gender relations and political discourse where emotion rules over logic and feelings are more important than facts".

Manosphere, with few exceptions, is an acknowledgement of sex differences. Few claim women belong in the kitchen, but this is one of the ways they'll put together hit pieces. They'll say we think men and women are different, ergo we think women belong in the kitchen barefoot.

Personally, I don't think men should even have relationships with women unless they really find an outstanding female, and even then refuse to marry. What's in it for us?

I thought Business Insider was supposed to write about business?

Business Insider is a glorified gossip rag. It will publish any article that gives it page views.

The people on the bluepill subreddit think that the article wasn't negative enough:

Does this count as manosphere going mainstream?

The tone of that article is pretty negative. It contains a lot of misunderstandings and attempts to say red-pillers are just basement dwelling losers instead of people who want to understand how the world actually works without PC bullshit.

Strange times we live in when people who are truth seekers get labeled as "cultists."

So much for Business Insider being fact-based... do they also write their business articles based on how "creeeeepy" the subject makes them feel?

It's hilarious that the writer doesn't even bother to check if any of this might actually be true or logical, he just dismisses it because of a "cult-like character". Well, if our community has a cult-like character, then what can one say about feminism? It's one of the rare few philosophies that has never proved a single of its tenets (existence of wage gap, glass ceiling, rape culture, men being irresponsible and sabotaging those family-minded women, no biological differences etc etc). Not a single tenet. Heck, Scientology has more believable points than feminism and yet it's not nearly so well loved).

All in all, the article reminds me of a parasitic attempt to curry favor with the feminist lobby like that of of the mangina Greg Hampikian in New York Times who was recently calling for genocide.

Exactly. The manosphere is counter ideological. It therefore isn't a cult, an ideology, or a belief.

It's 1) a total rejection of the prevailing social narrative, 2) an acknowledgement of innate sex differences, 3) a discussion on masculine identity with no regard whatsoever for female validation or female benefit, and 4) a rejection of unhealthy legal obligations imposed on men.

This is common ground for MRA/MGTOW/game in my opinion.

The manosphere is anti feminist because it's the feminists that are 1) crafting the prevailing social narrative, 2) insisting there are no innate sex differences, 3) attempting to control masculine identity, and 4) imposing unhealthy legal obligations upon men.

Nothing here is unreasonable, nothing about it can possibly be construed as hate.

What concerns me is that as the manosphere goes mainstream and gains some measure of popularity and public interest, you'll see a massive influx of blue pill. White knights, manginas, tradcons, and attention whores will start making new "manosphere" blogs.

The manosphere will slowly adopt gynocentrism, revert back to the blue pill, and the mainstream will pick and choose those blue pill gynocentric "manosphere" blogs to report on.

Places like this will still be dismissed as hate, and the culture will slowly go back to sleep. This is why I favor a very in-your-face, take-no-prisoners, FTSU style, and manosphere pussification worries me.

The Manosphere/Truth will never go Lamestream.

And, just like that, I realise the enormous, exposed weakness these Young Urban Professionals all have in common, and therefore, the most logical way to destroy them. I'm thinking, to start with, that Social Consequences go *both* ways.

Give me a couple of hours. I'll drop it in the Gawker thread.
