It's funny how this is being portrayed in the Western media as some kind of murderous crackdown on homosexuals. You would think that they were being thrown to the lions or black-bagged in the middle of the night and shot the next morning at dawn.

But actually, the Russians just don't want homosexuality to be promoted in public and in the media. They aren't running around trying to find out where every man is sticking his dick in the privacy of his bedroom. They just don't want to hear about it in the public square. It's basically a national extension of the old "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy that used to rule the U.S. military. Are you homosexual? That's fine. Just keep your mouth shut about it and you won't have a problem.

Frankly, I don't see the issue with that attitude. The Russians are trying to combat a birth rate that has fallen precipitously below replacement level. They are literally in a demographic battle for the survival of their people. They need to do everything they can to increase their native born population, and promoting traditional sexuality, morality and family life is a good way to do that.

There is no reason that homosexual propaganda needs to be shouted from the rooftops and blasted over the airwaves 24/7. Imagine if bestiality or hardcore BDSM propaganda was so widely distributed. Why should normal people to have to put up with such nonsense? It's not my business how you get your nut off, so don't make it my business by fucking telling me about it. Keep that shit to yourself. If you have deviant sexual tastes, that's your cross to bear. It's not society's job to completely upend thousands of years of traditional culture and morality so you can feel "normal" about your sexual behavior.

It is in the interests of society to promote traditional sexual mores that value family creation and children. Homosexuals have no part in this, and should therefore not be given free rein to pollute the culture with propaganda that glorifies a homosexual lifestyle.

this is an entertaining thread, and good to expose that there is a 'gay' that isn't always outrageously flaming but on the other end of the spectrum as well.I ran into this when working on a project with a police department and one of the female officers made it her gossip priority to point out all of the gay officers. I was surprised that that the majority were what I would call the department's 'super cops'. The no sense of humor, game face, always training type super cop. They weren't running up and down the halls with limp wrists whining for pink uniforms. They were in the armory going through the gear and just waiting to be released on the hippies on the other side of the fence.

Don't be fooled by your own 'alpha' stereotypes or you may end up all butt hurt (pun intended) like guys finding out about Rob Halford or Freddy Mercury.

There's quite a bit of gay-bashing on the forum, and I don't understand why. As long as a gay bloke isn't camp and basically a girl, I don't have a problem with it. I don't however, like the constant promotion of it as some sort of preferable sexuality, and in no way is a gay couple more preferable to a hetero one when raising children. That sort of stuff is just lunacy and goes against 1000's of years of biology.

Oddly enough, most gays I know are pretty cool with gay bashing and do quite a bit of gay bashing themselves.

Fact of the matter is, gays should want people to have more children, because that means more gays. If it wasn't for a large healthy hetero population, there wouldn't be nearly as many gays today.

There's a bit more to it than just a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" culture. Russia is straight up neurotic when it comes to homosexuality. Everything from young kids getting their asses torn open with crowbars and filled with wall insulation, to guys pretending to go on dates with gay guys just to lure them back to their gang so they can all beat his ass. There have even been cases where straight guys are accused of being gay and no one believes them. Whole neighborhoods come out to essentially lynch what are nothing more than teenagers.

That goes beyond keeping it on the down low into full-on witch hunt. Sorry, I find flamers annoying too, but I don't believe people should be tortured to death for being annoying.

I was 14 when I started listening to metal. I didn't even know what gay was back then let alone what to make of his "leather daddy" style of peacocking
