Dr. Helen AMA at Reddit right now.

I am a forensic psychologist who has been interested in why men aren't getting married, going to college, and doing other things society wants them to do. So I asked them! It turns out that they're not immature "man-child" types, but rather are responding rationally to society and its incentives. Ask me anything!

Good point:

Quote:Quote:

A Pew Research study shows an increasing number of women who feel that marriage is the most important thing in their life whereas fewer and fewer men are feeling this way. The media and culture tell women that they are entitled to whatever men have and deserve to be happy. Men are told to make them so. The culture for the past fifty years has been about what women want and has forgotten that men are human too, that they need to get something out of the deal of marriage but as the rewards of marriage go down for men and the costs and dangers get higher, men are opting out.

Wow that is an interesting thread. In one of the posts there was a link http://www.cultural-misandry.com/mens-rights/ to a 22,000 word list of men's issues.

Crazy.

Fuck I better not spend all day reading that thread. But here is a painful quote.

Quote:Quote:

I just read the introduction to your book and the beginning of chapter one on Amazon. It all sounds so familiar. I spent 15 years of marriage doing 90% of the work. I was the sole financial provider, but also got stuck doing most of the housework, cooking, cleaning, and so on. For my efforts, I was rewarded with disdain, emotional abuse and sexual manipulation.

When I finally hit my breaking point and left her, she fought like hell to stop the divorce, then took 2/3rds of everything I had and a substantial monthly child support payment when I refused to stay. This was last year. Today, while I'm working my ass off to make those payments and attempt to rebuild my savings, she's doing a part time gig at a coffee shop and taking $10,000 vacations. Oh, and the lawyers tell me I got off easy compared to other men.

WTF? I swear I was blue pill before finding this site. I mean I am a bit of an overthinker and always knew I wanted a pre-nup. But this shit is just ridiculous.

I saw that doc on the colorado lawyer who got put in jail because he couldn't keep up with his payments. And Iknowexactly is always mentioning imputed income, which is total bs. I just can't risk marrying a US chick. I do want a family at some point - there I said it - shoot me. lol.

Maybe we just need one of these. Pretty good point.

Quote:Quote:

I personally think the problem won't be solved until we have access to artificial wombs. The reason we have things like no-fault divorce and women's double standards regarding marriage has a lot to do with the fact that women have access to alternative forms of reproduction, whereas men don't. This causes women's utility to be high irrespective of their actual value, and leads to narcissistic women being treated well in spite of their outrageous attitudes. If you're familiar with game theory, the current situation is an ultimatum game, and it needs to change

Yeah, it is. I remember Roosh mentioning that a woman will make the most money from the "manosphere" and the American media won't even let men speak on any of this. Truly pathetic.

To try to be honest, I have to say I don't have any knowledge of how frequently imputed income is used to ream a helpless, screaming manboob.

I do know I had a patient in my practice who was to be honest not really capable of making up such a complex story, and the capricious manner in which some clerk who was pretty clearly not a qualified accountant simply looked at some papers and declared "Oh you were a {professional redacted}, you should be making more."

Just in a few seconds, she reamed him out. No formula, no logic, just a women's "intuition" about what he "should' be making.

I too am in terror of post-divorce making $X per year, going into family court and hearing, " IKE, at one point working in an absolute hellhole with the most miserable conditions possible, you made 15X. "

"We're going to charge you child support based on 15X, so get back to work"

So I'll OWE money I never had. And penalties and interest on the money I never had.

Will probably still get married - but prenuped up the ass and a foreigner.

I am glad Dr Helen is at least getting the word out.

However, I won't consider the manosphere mainstream until men can openly speak about these topics.

Think for a second about marriage and men opting out and if you take away all of the manosphere influence from your thinking/perspective; what entity/public person is being honest about the state of marriage today?

You literally have to search out the far corners of the web for our type of thinking.

The fact that Dr. Helen was invited on national news shows is HUGE. I think it sucks she is a woman (try imagining the opposite of a man being in the medias eye as the sole voice largely on a woman’s issue?) but this is a breakthrough for our type of thinking reaching the masses. The frame for men is so low in the public sphere that any type of critical look at relationships between the sexes that doesn’t mesh with the status quo brands any male commentary on the issue as sexist.

Since Dr. Helen has credentials and is a FEMALE its hard for the establishment to bash her arguments simply as the voice of an angry dumb/sexist male(or whatever fill in the blank pejoratives). Like it or not I am beginning to believe the only way to soften the public to the realities of relationships may require a female like Dr. Helen simply because political correctness would never allow a male figure to gain traction as a social critic on relationships between the sexes.

Make very sure the country doesn't have a bilateral treaty with the USA to enforce each others' child supports judgements.

Here's the thread.

http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-7500-p...#pid107960

TO be honest, when I look at the combinations of ways they can get you, it seems more efficient to try to find countries where YOU determine how you'll support your kids, rather than the State telling you.

So far, my research indicates the Philippines is one of the best, partially because they have no divorce, only annulment.

I think one important point is if you have the kid in USA, you are totally vulnerable. There's nothing you can do if the bitch splits unless you get lucky and fight and get custody like El Mech did.

The only realistic question is what OTHER countries can you have a kid in and be in control of how you take care of the kid.
The USA is clearly one-sided anti-non-custodial parent. Some states you HAVE to pay the money to the ex through the State-- they get a cut.

You can't just pay her directly and keep the bureaucrats out of your life. It's their living.

Very disturbing. Not surprising, but seriously when is enough, enough?

It's probably worth noting that it's not merely because she's a woman that she is getting this exposure. Neil Strauss was fairly mainstream, after all. But her entire image is crafted to be more palatable to a mainstream audience. She has credentials (a PhD) and an affiliation (PJ Media). She conducts herself professionally and takes care not to give offense needlessly, while still keeping her message clear and accessible by dumb people with short attention spans. She markets the ideas as something everyone should care about ("Men on Strike = Crisis").

Most manosphere writers I know do not seem like the type that are able or willing to make the compromises necessary to reach a mainstream audience. (Note, anonymous writers may see their ideas spread but will not be credited.)

This was eye opening.

I can't figure out what to do. How can a guy eventually get love without marriage?

Lately I'm thinking a lot about what to do after I'm out of the game.

There are some great "don't get married" horror stories in that reddit thread. I hope this becomes a new genre like slasher films or survival horror. Maybe get Vincent Price or Christopher Lee to narrate the whole thing.

I can't believe she makes fun of white knights and even quotes chateau heartiste / roissy.

She is a pretty cool chick.

I think one takeaway from this book is that the enemy is the people that promote the injustices against men that she writes about, not all women in general like we hear so often on this board.

Women have the capacity to be cold and cunning but they are not all bad. We lose focus of the real issues when we say all women are identical, whores, ruthlessly hypergamous, nothing but buttons of attraction to be pushed etc..

Some girls can be great loving and faithful

But I don't know what to do with those girls even if you are lucky enough to find them because marriage and family law are so fucked up

Worse.. They might know their value as a true good girl and believe they deserve marriage..
