GTA San Andreas . Too much to do and so little time .

Recent one is Max Payne 3 . Harder and gameplay was tweak just right .

Mario Kart gets honorable mention because IMO it's the best 'gender neutral' game ever. That is, it's the best game to play with a bitch. Let it be known I have an emulator with SNES USB controllers and bitches love playing that shit on my giant TV.

BUT... Grand Theft Auto 3 on PS2 was a straight up religious experience. When my brother and I opened it on Christmas morning, and just heard the opening credits, we knew it was a different game.

Then I started walking around shooting up pedestrians and stealing cop cars. That shit took video games to a completely different level. Greatest game ever.

The new Bravely Default almost was the greatest game I played recently. It came out in February on the 3ds. Its an upgrade of the old school final fantasy game and is almost one. The problem is the story is pretty bland, as our the two lead characters. The secondary characters are much better. Everything is voiced for a handheld RPG which took me 80 hours to finish. The final part of the game is terrible since you have to fight all of the same bosses 5 times in a row! The gameplay is incredible since you can bank turns, allowing you to 4 commands per character. However if you do this the character can't attack for 4 turns. You can also turn off enemy encounters, or make them twice as high for grinding. And you can speed up battles and even program them for auto fighting.

They are making a sequel since the game is a hit.

Metal Gear Solid was cool, all of them, snake eater being my favorite. But nothing had me glued to a tv quite like call of duty when i discovered online playing. Gawd. So fucking fun. I sold my ps3 a while and gawdamn I miss it so much but I'm way more productive now.

Shogun 2 total war. best strategy game in my opinion very stratigical became a bit of a bitch when all other factions decided to declare war on you because you had gained to much power. And the shogunate is a bitch

So many good games to chose, i'd say every Grand Theft Auto has been consistently a winner. GTA 3 was a game changer though.

The original Doom was good. FEAR was also an excellent scary game.

I loved Sim City as well. Sim City 4 on the PC had a lot of great mods. Have to be careful with those games that have no defined ending though!

Tales of Symphonia had, hands down, the best story and most in depth characters in any video game I have ever came across. The story in and of itself was super fucked up also, with some really messed up shit (think Presea).
