What a relief. I'm glad it's over. What a rollercoaster ride this was.

I wasn't sure which team to root for. I have some connections to both cities, with a stronger connection to LA, but more recent to Houston.

I decided around game 4 to root for Houston, based on the fact LA is full of liberals, and is run by people like Weinstein.

This was a fantastic series, and I'm very happy to see LA get whipped in their home field in front of their fans!

Congrats to Houston!!!

Forgetting about home teams and such...this World Series is the best one I can remember seeing.

I was rooting for Houston for the same reason. Plus they could use this win after the hurricane.

That was a hell of a series. Very refreshing to watch with all this NFL nonsense going on.

Despite also having connections to both cities, I'm a die hard Red Sox fan and almost never care about the post-season if my team is not in it.

This year was different. We had two 100-game winners in the finals. Two true heavyweights. I was honestly curious to learn who would prevail.

Game 5 was insane. I've been watching MLB for 42 years and that game is in my top 5.

We saw something special this year with José Altuve. Somebody posted earlier in this thread after game 5 "I'm convinced, Altuvé = MVP." Damn right! (I need to go back and Like that post if I didn't already.)

Baseball in November?? I loved it. But it's still going to be a long wait until April.

Go Red Sox in 2018.

What a game that was. An incredibly well-played and clean ending to a crazy series (and season.) So proud of this awesome team and the vision, leadership, and incredible cohesion and brotherhood between these players.

Best of all was being able to watch the playoffs with my dad, a lifelong Astros fan who's waited his whole life for this day.

I'm just glad the Doyers didn't win, thank fucking god.

Darvish is getting lit up online, shouldn't of kept him in that long (granted it was a short time)

I was wondering to myself how much the "racist gesture" affected him, especially when he started off with a lengthy pitch sequence vs Gurriel and the crowd was booing. I wonder if Gurriel taking his hat off to Yu, and the crowd's reaction got in his head and psyched him out some. I would have just put Kershaw in there from the get-go anyway, might have kept it closer.

No matter what though, The Dodgers can't really blame Darvish since they had more chances to score than the Astros and left like 10 guys on base. I would blame the Dodgers offense for not taking advantage of the chances when they had them.

Guriel fucked up, plain and simple, the dude was on NATIONAL TV, during the WORLD SERIES.

Come on man, can't be doing that shit.

Guriel tipped his hat, said my bad and carried on with his life.

I don't think that got into Darvish's head, I think Darvish just didn't have it, if it wasn't Darvish, who knows what would've happened with Kershaw, he's blown his load early also before.

Word on the street Beltran told the other Astros batters how Darvish likes to tip his pitches, so they knew how to hit off him. No idea if that is true or not, but it's something I have heard.

I saw that on TV also.

They say Darvish would keep his pitching hand still in the glove when he was going to throw a fastball and he would move it around in the glove when he was about to throw a slider.

They were talking about on Mike & Mike - it definitely sounds like it's possible.

Homey is 23. This is terrible news. I will drink tonight in his honor because he just fucked up. I hope they stay engaged for like 1 or 2 years and that gives him some time to grow up a little more.

Funny thing is, I always liked the Astros and casually followed them, but I really got into it this year. I realized that since baseball is one of my dad's favorite things, putting some effort into learning his hobby would create more opportunity for us to bond/share experiences. I'm really glad I put in the effort, as I got to spend quality time with my dad and also came to enjoy the sport way more than I ever expected I would. My dad is in great health, but he is getting older and I'm becoming more aware of the value of finding ways to spend time with him, since otherwise there's not a lot of overlap in our hobbies/interests.

This is purely anecdotal from reading lots of player bios on Wikipedia etc., but baseball players seem to do pretty well in the marriage dept., as far as not getting divorced so often, and many seem to have happy families. So Correa's not necessarily doomed.
