Question for the millionaires

@jimukr (quote function is still f'd my bad)
So basically you spend your time reading books, playing video games and watching TV?
I'm not worried about how you manage assets or any of that crap, don't care, just straight up hobbies. Also not hating at all you're a millionaire so you can do whatever the fuck you want. So basically you workout, play some vid games, read a few books and call it a day (After of course sex with wife or mistress/whatever)?

Ha you're married + many years older than me brother my answers would not be of any use.
I would say search for new hobbies besides reading though, maybe a sport as simple as bowling/tennis/ whatever you like. I couldn't stand being inside for that long given the freedom.
Thank you for the response! Interesting to hear.

I will take your word for it if you're well off, so to all the people who no longer have to work for a living what do you guys do to burn all the extra free time?
Do you simply chase higher quality girls or are you simply building up new business opportunities?
Hopefully guys like Hooligan Harry see this but, overall assuming your expenses are in check, do you spend your time chasing more capital or do you basically spend all your time chasing down new girls 24/7/365?
What's the difference between millionaires and the retirees, disabled, unemployed? Free time is free time.

It's why I will never be rich, ever. I place chasing women and travel above all other things.
Vorkuta we are brothers as far as the above statement is concerned, I can easily double my income but I value my free time and ability to travel travel and Game way more then making more money.
WestCoast I can see you are toying with the Idea , what will you going to do in your free time after you have collected what you think is enough to last you the rest of your life.
I do that too sometime, like the mantra goes, We want to achieve Fiancial Independence, Location Independence and doing whatever the fuck we want whenever we want.
Having said that If I have the Finacial Independence I still would do the same work I do now
not because I have to but because i want to, I love what I do, I just wouldn't have to do it for money and work may be 3-4 months in a year. It would make my work much more gratifying. rest of the time would be spent doing what ever the fuck pleases me.

Actually law of compounding is part of the secret. Saved since my high school jobs. Made alot of tax free money during my 2years as an expat plus spend 1 year in Bosnia on the UN mission. Saved alot. Invested and let law of compounding work. Saved most Salary since.

I know a few millionaires.
4/5, put money before everything else, and that includes family.
Exactly. Some of these people worked so hard on that nest egg they become miserable humans.
@West Coast- It sounds like you are working your ass off and cutting corners to get to that financial point. So now you are missing out on certain aspects of life. Make a list of those and when you retire, start those.
I have a relative that retired with an impressive amount. He still did cool shit all these years, so there was no rubber band effect. Now he does what the fuck he wants, within budget, and still has time to dabble in the markets.
I've given this a lot of thought actually. I'd have to regiment myself as not to go running around the world having another Euro or DR incident.

You should buy the rights to the MM, and start a designer line of fuzzy hats, platform boots, and black eyeliner/nail polish. Huge money in that market. PUA style get the bitches.

Maybe Jim was a dirty cop like on The Shield? Shaking down dealers and pimps. NYC is Democrat, everything is crooked up there.

So what do you do with your free time if you don't work and you are married?
Yes you count as a millionaire assuming you don't work anymore you fit all the criteria.
What I do?hmm. Basically read a lot , forums ,books on investing, etc. I planned on traveling BUT family obligations have put that on hold. No big deal .I originally thought about spending part time in Odessa(Have flat there) But there is really no advantage. Brooklyn is cheaper in a lot of ways. I see scantly dress devushkas every time i leave my flat here so NO reason to go there at the moment. Being married of course holds me back.
My only hobby is films and strategy pc games. I could do that regardless if working or not. I was forced into early retirement and don't have any useful skills(was a cop) or i would probably do something. Problem is commute in NYC is so HORRIBLE going to work doesn't excite me. I often think if there is something I could do from my PC I would.I envy a lot of the portable skills some RVF members have TBH. My only skill was clocking people over the head .
I have started working out again. I am slim but was getting a belly(40 NOW, retired at 37). Lost it now pretty buff.
Do animal rescue once in a while.Like I said if i had a normal profession I might still be working. It gets boring but so was work.If I was single I would MOST likely do other more exciting things. For example move my base to Ukraine and from there conquer Russia, Uzbekistan and Georgia. I would be Ghangis Khan in reverse lol.
How the heck do you have $1.7M at 40 on a cops salary?
In California cops and firefighters do really well. I've done actuarial analyses for small, wealthy cities like 90210 and Santa Monica and cops can easily clear $120k one year out of the academy with OT. Firefighters can do even better with battalion chiefs clearing $350k a year with shit tons of mandatory overtime. As long as they keep lifestyle inflation in check (unfortunately most don't and rely on base + OT just to survive) and make some prudent investments, 1.7m in 20 years is very doable. Also nice to get 90% of last year's salary as a pension after 30 years service. Guy walks on the job at 20, leaves at 50 and is making $100k a year for the rest of his life. Not hating, I'd want that shit too.
Sorry for the semi thread jack, but couldn't resist.
Yep. Plus if his wife works with a NYC income, then 1.7 is certainly doable.
