Acne and Game

As a young guy (18) who has only recently swallowed the red pill, I feel like my acne scars are hampering my inner game, as well as partially my game interactions in general. I know some people say it's just a mental thing, but I've gotten some repulsed looks by girls at clubs when I night game. The discoloration covers both my cheeks in circular patches perhaps in a 4cm radius, but the rest of my face is perfectly clear. I don't think it's due to me being a 5'5 asian, naturally bad looks or to a bad style, which I have been remedying in preparation for college. I would like to know in your opinions if this is because of my acne and if so, how much does it affect game. I've looked at multiple sources of opinions and they all appear to be conflicting. Also, this has been affecting my mental capacity to approach. I feel like in the daytime I'd be an ogre or something trying to kidnap and have my way with nubile young women in my troll cave.

Thanks in advance!

If it bothers you go to a dermatologist and take some zinc pills.

There is an ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) thread on the board. I think people use it to clear up skin. Take a look.

Fuck what other people think. Fuck their opinions, especially if the opinions just bring you down. You want chicks focus on that. If it bugs you 1)do something about it or 2)make peace with the problem - as in accept it and then go on to approaching.

Don't reject yourself before allowing woman the privilege of rejecting you. And I mean that in a supportive way, not to make fun of your approaches. We all get rejected, just the way it is. But no need to reject yourself on behalf of chicks. This isn't a perfect analogy, but it is sort of like you want to know if you won before you have even tried.

I had bad acne as a teen and it is no joke. I saw a great dermatologist and cleared my skin up. It was very tedious, requiring various topical antibiotics in the a.m., oral antibiotics, and some stuff at night. I was a candidate for accutane but couldn't afford to miss work every week. (Now sure how it is now, but back then you had to go in every week to get blood work, as accutane can have some nasty side effects.

Also, change your diet radically. Eliminate sugars.

Start juicing. Juicing will improve your skin more than anything else other than radical therapies like accutane.

If you have scars, you are to some extent stuck. If you are just referring to discoloration rather than deeps pits, just go to a dermatologist and get peels/dermabrasion and get it cleared up.

I had bad excema started juicing went away in 2 weeks. Just go here: fit-juice.com

I juiced a ton of greens (10 oz pure greens a day) for about 2 weeks straight. Now I juice 5 days a week or so.

Problems should be solved, if it doesn't work then see a specialist

Dude I'm 39 and I still get acne here and there.
I'll give you tips on how I deal with it.

1. Apple cider vinegar has done wonders for my skin since I've started taking it. 2 tablespoons after lunch and dinner.

2. Clean your face every night before bed. If your face is oily it ends up on your pillow. Now your oily face is pressed against this dirty greasy pillow for 8 hours. While you're at it replace your pillow case once or twice a week or at least flip the pillow over.

3. Chocolate makes me break out like crazy. It never fails. If I eat even half a candy bar ill get a huge red pimple on my nose or forehead. Try to avoid junk food like that.

4. Drink lots of water. Try drinking water exclusively for a few weeks and see what happens.

5. Work out and sweat. Excess testosterone causes acne. Burn it up by lifting 3x a week. Jog on the remaining days. Sweating is good for you. It gets all the toxins out of your system including all the crap that causes whiteheads. Hell sit in a sauna once in a while and sweat it out.

Tuthmosis had a No Homo skin care thread. Check that out. Lotsa good stuff in there.

I never heard of using zinc for clear skin. Can someone post some info on that and why it works?

I'm currently on accutane, which means I can't take any other medicines or get the discoloration zapped yet, but I'll be off in a month and my derm promises I'll be back to clear skin by the end of the summer. I've never heard of juicing in non-steroid terms so I'll check it out. I guess I really don't have any excuses for not approaching. Thanks for helping me jump this mental barrier. Game on.

Get accutane. Everything else is a bandaid solution.

Accutane is a massive waste of money. Parlay has a good list, especially #1 #2 #4. I had really bad acne problems as a kid and I actually eat more candy and sugar now then I ever did before and I have went the last couple years without getting a zit. Zero.

-DO NOT touch your face with the inside of your hand or fingers. I see people do this all the time and it makes me cringe. This is probably one of the leading causes of acne and no one realizes it. Your palms are super oily, get used to rubbing your face with the back of your hand/fingers.

-Use HOT water and a face cloth. When I say hot I mean as hot as your water will get. Do this 2-6 times a day. After a little while of doing this you will actually be able to feel when your face is greasy and when it is not. I never use any kind of product on my face, a few daily splashes of hot water is all you need.

I actually dont have to change my pillow case as much anymore because my face never really has any clogged pores so there is way less grease wiped off on my pillow. I change it maybe once a month (unless it gets a "stain") and I still dont get zits. Hot water > clean face > clean pillow.

Accutane is no joke, but it saved my face. It will keep improving well after you stop taking it.

Though there are numerous studies about the long terms effects of accutane, which does leave me a bit nervous. So far, outside of premature male pattern baldness, I have not experienced any long term problems.

Accutane is NOT a waste of money, so much misinformation in your post, if you're going to write about something at least write about something you actually know because you obviously have no idea how acne works, and I mean, real acne, not a zit here and there or the kind of acne that comes when you're a teen, and then disappears by itself in a year, I'm talking about the kind of acne that stays with you all your life and doesn't respond to any conventional methods. Silverbullit is right, accutane is the only thing that actually works, everything else, like he said, is just a bandaid solution.

Where in yours and his post does it say that Accutane doesn't work for all people? Where do you mention side effects and wasted money?

Is that not misinformation too?

OP says he has zits in 4 cm patches. Is this the "real" acne you describe? How the fuck would you know since your not a doctor?

My solution is free and takes a week to see if it works.

The other day i was lurking some facebooks, and i ran into this girl that clearly has a glass eyeball. Its always looking in the same direction, it does not shine at all with the camera flash, and it looks plain disgusting.

I called my brother, and said to him that "having a fake eyeball would definitively ruin my complete existence...i would´nt leave the house at all"

Do you think she cares? There´s a million pictures of her posing and doing stupid shit all over the night clubs.

She might be insane, yes. But i think we over think the "looks" aspect of the game.

There are plenty of guys my age with less hair. But my family history across both sides of my family shows baldness coming on much later than my age.

If you know what to do with your style, baldness is not a detriment. I've met a few guys on the forum and I don't think any of them would say, "Holy shit MaleDefined, you'll never get laid with your hair like that!"

Parlay's list is very good. I'll add to that not using any products on your face, just water. Hot water opens your pores, cold water closes them, so always make sure you wash with cold water before you dry your face.

You should be drinking at least 3 litres of water a day. A quick google search will also send you to acne.org which might give you some more help.

It's funny, I've never used any shite on my face like Clearasil or anything and have only washed with water and now after reading the no shampoo thread I realise I should've been doing the same with my hair.

Love the bro science here. If your doctor gave you accutane, it means you had cystic acne - acne formed deep in the skin and would lead to scars if you didn't get it addressed ASAP. So you did the right thing. Drinking some juice or splashing cold water on your face isn't going to address severe teenage cystic acne.

It sounds like your dr has already talked to you about the scars/discoloration (can't do anything while your skin is sensitive from the Accutane).

As far as your main question - how to be more confident - it seems natural you'd be less confident while you are on accutane. It is hardcore and makes your skin dry and flaky and can make you feel sick. Just don't obsess about approaching for now and you'll feel better when the medical stuff has resolved itself in a month or two.

Might want to try the oil cleansing method. I haven't tried it.

http://purifiedskincare.com/category/oil...ng-method/

For awhile I was trying all kinds of different stuff.

I finally went to a dermatologist and he gave me some stuff (can't remember what it was called) that cleared my face up. However, my back is still pretty fucked.

The dude basically told me that no change in my diet would have any effect on my acne and that it was something I'd have to grow out of, even though at this point I am in my late 20's.

My brother had terrible acne. He was able to get on accutane and now his face looks better than mine.

I got on accutane. Its a serious drug. Had mad depression, mood-swings, but my face cleared up.

I had horrible acne. I still have some scarring, but nothing like HS. It was terrible. I still shudder looking back. One morning I woke up and I couldn't open my left eye because I had a large acne cyst pop up over my upper left orbit. That was the last straw. I had to go in and get a cortisol shot for that cyst. After that I got on Accutane.

I tried to stay off accutane for a while. Did a full regimen of doxycycline, various OTC, benzoyl peroxide, washing my face obsessively. Zip. nada. W/no choice I got on accutane. In 6-months, everything had cleared up. But months 1-2 were brutal, if anything the acne got worse (cysts surfacing).

Side-effects
- skin was extra brittle. I would bump into a door and start bleeding.
- Constant nosebleeds
- Sunburn extremely easily
- Mood swings and Depression
- Decreased Athletic performance
- Mental fog

For you, I would go in and see a dermatologist stat. The thing is your skin can repair itself, but only up to a certain point. If you wait till you have scars, its too late. 4cm acne is huge- thats def nodular or cystic acne. Jaylow is tripping. 4cm is almost 2 inches. Thats basically tumour-sized.

Edit- I def. don't regret taking Accutane. It legitly saved my self-esteem. Having bad acne is terrible for any kid to grow through.

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

I love the "bro science" passive-aggressive line.

Why won't juice affect acne?

Are you aware that acne is the result of a bacteria and that a dietary change often kills off the bacteria for acne?

Lots of "real" science, bro. Read more:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=acne%20diet

People who juice also tend to eat less carbs - which are responsible for acne in many patients:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term...vegetables

This study also showed that a high glycemic load diet, dairy food intake, high fat diet, and iodine in Korean foods appear to play a role in acne exacerbation. In addition, irregular dietary patterns were found to aggravate acne.

There are also many anecdotal reports of cystic acne "calming down" afer a diet heavy in green juice has been started:

Yeah, it should only only prescribed in extreme cases because of the side effects. But if the choice is a face full of cysts, it is a legit option.

But the OP is already seeing a dermatologist. His question relates to confidence.

I misread. I thought all his acne was located in the 2cm area.

Has it gotten harder to get a prescription for accutane over the years because I remember some of my friends going on it who really seemed like they didn't need it.
