It was fifteen years of effort to get my skills to the point where my friends and I could get paid playing bars, but it was worth it. DJ and dance are easier pursuits, I would recommend that over guitar playing for quick value increases. In the end though, guitar is much more satisfactory. No one enjoys a night at home dancing alone or mixing songs by themselves.
