I wish they focused more on actual interesting political moves similar to season 1.
This season was just about Frank and Claire for 13 hours.
Also I can't even buy America Works, the fact is no politician is going to raid entitlements to the tune of $500 Billion (1/3rd), old people are the largest voting block.
House of Cards season 3: SJW Penis Envy
The only characters I liked this season were Doug and the Secretary of State.
Faux Putin was well done.

Claire is one of the most despicable people on the show. The height of hypocrisy. Haven't been able to stand her from thee start. Some of her shit could have been more tolerable earlier on if she were hotter...but she is not.
Also what is with all these middle aged looking women, who look barely bangable even WITH all the TV make-up, giving all these elite rich/powerful men the feels? People are throwing their careers and millions of dollars away for Jackie Sharpe's 50 yea old splotchy skin and saggy tits? Please.
The gay agenda was just more masturbation. That guy is a revolutionary? What's funny is Frank is supposed to be a ruthless character right? But he is way too soft with Claire. After that stunt she pulls in Russia after the gay dude dies, there should have been serious consequences for her. Hopefully Frank can crush her opposition in the next season and make her cry.
Otherwise, too much gay bullshit. Kevin Spacey has also become too fat.

Season 3 is kinda lame. Major gay agenda and Spacy's character is forced and increasingly pathetic. Season 2 was excellent in my opinion.

A couple loose ends/things that didn't add up:
- the guy on the place who the reporter called out for breaking campaign finance law. Where did this go? What role did it play in the larger story?
- Lisa and the computer hacker and the friendship that they developed. They spent a fair amount of time on this and the only real result was that he found out where Rachel was. Shit man, they could have spent five minutes on that.

Pretty good season.
The homey Remy stepped up ...and then stepped out.
Doug Stamper, wasn't expecting that. I totally don't recall that plot line from last season at all, but the man ties up loose ends.
I kept expecting Mickey Doyle to do his trademark laugh.
Claire is consistently the most interesting character, but her come to Jesus moment in Moscow, I didn't buy. But with that shaky piece in place and the rest of the things that occur between them, at least there's support for how her character feels @ the end of the season.
Frank is really good in this as usual. He plays that sympathetic tyrant/anti-hero quite well.
One of his best parts of the season is after the Claire snafu, he's like "I can't dwell on that, I have to deal with what is going on now"
Quality cinema.

House of Cards used to be like Breaking Bad of political dramas. Now its like Will & Grace. They pussified all male characters: Doug cried in every episode and barely redeemed himself in the finale, Remy was just moping around until deciding that he is still in love with a 50yo hag and quit his job, Frank went from a scheming ruthless psychopath to some mellow patriotic grandpa handwriting soldier letters. Just pathetic shit.

SPOILERS
- The sex scene in episode 2 was brilliant red pill masterpiece. She sees a man crying like a bitch on the floor with his knees pulled up to his chest, she doesn't say anything, doesn't do anything, just calmly sits on his cock and turns him into a man of control and confidence in 30 seconds. What's more to say?
- The fake Putin is involved in too much drama between Claire and Frank. The real Putin doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would play soap opera with the US President and his wife.
- Gay propaganda, anti-Russian propaganda and activist worship. All season.
- The First Lady tells the president of Russia in Kremlin on live TV ''shame on you'' and implies that he is a murderer, and then she storms out, followed by the President of the United States. The next day, a few headlines mentions her bravery and then the media goes back to talking about Jordan Valley. No diplomatic crisis, no chaos, no escalations, no repercussions. This is the moment when the show became a soap opera.
- The Doug storyline was so stupid and pointless. Am I missing something? Why is the obsession of a needy alcoholic guy relevant in a show like House of Cards? 1/4 of the whole season was dedicated to a pointless anti-climatic storyline.
- The show does display a lot of middle-aged dried-up entitled cunts, true, but it doesn't paint them as equals of men. Claire, Jacky and the fake Hillary Clinton are all the time portrayed as impulsive, dishonest, hypocrite, underqualified and untrustworthy. So, you shouldn't hate the large number of sagging women with power in the show. This part of the show is red-pill. Plus, isn't it same in the real life? Aren't underqualified women politicians praised just cause they have vaginas?
- About Frank's change in character; Frank Underwood is a dynamic character. In previous seasons he used to be a wolf chasing a certain prey, the president. He had a clear goal on the horizon. This season, he suddenly becomes the president and realizes he has no real power whatsoever. He can't influence a single senator anymore, he can hardly control his aids. He is politically isolated and his biggest supporter, his wife, is pulling away. He is without a goal, without support and without power. He feels frightened and emasculated. Hence his transformation from a solid and tough guy with power into a pussified scared guy with a blurry vision. I don't think the show is losing to Hollywood mentality. I'm optimistic that we will see a better Frank when he is running for campaign, back on the hunt.

I'm not 100% sure that Rachel's dead. Doug starts gunning toward her and it's the middle of the day.
The next shot is him filling in the grave and it's past twilight. We also never see Rachel - that head of hair looked off, like a doll or something.
Point is, there's a certain amount of ambiguity. We never see him actually kill Rachel.

Speaking of Doug, to me all alcoholic stories like this go back to Thomas Hardy's masterpiece: The Mayor of Casterbridge.
In that book the man does stupid things drunk then realized the mistake and gives up the sauce. He then builds up his life and becomes very successful. Years later faced with his past he goes back to the drug and his life is ruined again. There is however a finality and sense of impending doom with all of his actions.
With Doug, they were too wishy-washy with the whole thing. He goes back and forth too much. You can argue that well an alcoholic WILL go back and forth. Yes he will. But when he goes back, the consequences should be much bigger. Doug was given too many passes. Once he finally comes back after all this though, he should be a total badass, and not flip flop one final time. The showrunners hugely overrated the audience's investment in this Rachel character and we sincerely did not care. For two seasons they overplayed this hand. I understood how she was supposed to represent the drug for him, etc but 2 seasons was much too long. Doug is too good a character to waste on this.
With the hacker and Lisa, yeah I understand that they are trying to show how in this town people can try to or want to have real relationships and care for someone, but can't. But the storytelling itself was poor. After the last scene with Lisa I didn't buy the Hacker revealing himself to be this scheming piece of shit double crossing Doug. You can't give characters and arc and then go against that arc in this way.
By the way, I totally understand how they had to tone down Frank's monstrosities. He is in a different role now, he is in the limelight and can't scheme the way he used to. That is fine. That was something that I knew was coming. What fake Putin tells him is correct though...he is blinded by Claire. And why does everyone have to be gay[or bi]? Why?
If the Underwoods were so smart, ruthless, and adept at playing the long game, they can not suddenly deteriorate like this. If Claire was who we were told she was in the first 2 seasons, she was prepared for this in S3. She would not have acted the way she did. Are they saying it was because of menopause that she has changed as a person [there was the one scene of her in front of the fridge that hinted to this...but that's not enough really].
I assumed the whole plan was that they understood the public and people, and knew that the man had to become President first, then she would build her resume, and eventually she would also run for President. like the Clintons. That was the plan for 30 years. Why bail when you have finally achieved something? Asking for the UN, and now bailing on Frank proves Claire is not competent. Since this is converse to what we have been earlier shown, it is bad storytelling and writing.
P.S. This show is seriously missing Kate Mara, or any such eye candy.Everything is about sex except sex, and such higly powerful and motivated people are also a lot about sex. Need more nubile sex kittens.
P.P.S. Every time I see the Remy character's face, especially with a woman [especially Jackie] around, all it says to me is "Dat Ass". He pretty much makes that Christian Bale WB gif face the whole season.

Some of my favorite scenes in this show happen when there is a situation occurring and then Underwood looks deadpan into the camera to drop some Machiavellian knowledge on the viewer.
We barely got any of that this season because Underwood spent all of his time in the fetal position getting assaulted on multiple fronts. His character is on the ropes and he has painted himself into a corner where he has zero leverage. Even worse is that every time he tried to re-emerge and get an edge, it seemed like Claire was there to snatch it away with her incompetence.
The only two good quotes I got from this season were:
"What is the face of a coward? The back of his head as he runs from the battle."
and
"You can't change a "no" to a "yes" without a maybe in between."
Honorable mention goes to the Putin-like character who dropped one of the best disses on the show:
"[Referring to Frank and Claire visiting the Black Sea] Bring her along, it's crawling with artists out there, she might find something she likes."
I did not find Season 3 to be as enjoyable as 1 or 2, but this could just be a filler season that is really setting us up for something special next year. I have no idea how they are going to spin it, but I'm expecting that Underwood gets back into the swing of things with Stamper back in the mix.
Edit: Now we know why Eleanor's statue is in the corner. Making a woman your equal is the surest way to make her resent you.
"Despite their numbers, their pussyness means I was barely hurt. 2 black eyes and a cut nose, no big deal. I could sense the fear in them so as they were walking I chased them down and told them to "go home". They all left like little girls." - Revelations 21:4

I'm about halfway through, did Remy getting pulled over for DWB have anything to do with the plot or did they just need to keep him from getting uppity?

Spoiler alert
Just finished season three. I think they were focusing on character development to a nauseating degree this season because they overplayed the plot in the first two years. Congressman to President in 2 seasons was too much too fast, so they needed to slow down Franky baby's progress, and one way to do that was by him becoming beta with his cuntish wife. I absolutely cannot stand Claire at this point. I'm just sitting here like "Bitch, you're married to the damn president of the United States of A-fucking-merica, stop bitching, sit your ass down and enjoy the show you overemotional hyper-reactive, cobweb-pooned hypergamous bull dyke. Fuck outta here."
And jeez enough with the gay propaganda. I'm pretty sure 95% of people who watch the show support gay marriage rights or are indifferent, so they are really preaching to the choir on this one. Fuck outta here.
I liked the betazation of Frank as a theme. He is so desperately trying to hold his power and it is just slipping away from him. Interesting to watch how he puts on his public front when you know he's one slip-up from taking Meachem up the booty.
All in all though, I really liked the season. Stamper's recovery hit home for me. Frank's downward spiral is cool too. I think that they are certainly gearing up for good things in season four. More murders please.

Can someone explain the scene where Claire is in Iowa with the woman who is going to vote for Heather Dumb-bar, and she goes into her house, and the woman (WB btw) says she sometimes thinks about smothering her baby? I did not get the point of this at all.
Women wanting to have it all but they can't is the only thing I can think of.

That scene in the house REALLY bothered me. The fact that this is what is going on. In Claire's head shows you how much of a rotten person she is.

Count me among the people who were disappointed. After a few shows I wasn't even interested in how it would end.
Next year, I won't be watching any more of HoC.
This year there wasn't much excitement (murders, plots, schemes), fun (Frank talking some Machiavellian smarts to the viewers) and after a couple of times, I just got tired of Kevin Spacey's queenish outbursts -- just too much overacting.
The whole bitching about the marriage was also a huge letdown. I mean, the writers do understand people watch this show because they want to see head-to-head political mindgames between world leaders?

I think a lot of you guys are watching this through a red pill tinted lens and missing the point. Easily offended by threats to one's world view and then not seeing the forest for the trees.
Claire has been Frank's beard for years at this point.
We already know about his dalliances in college.
They spent at least one entire show on that one.
I'm willing to bet that it's his orientation that's the real reason he never knocked her up.
And Claire at least for a bit, wanted to have kids.
But she's a soldier.
We know that she got the MM + F situation popping off with Meechum the Secret Service guy.
And when she finds Frank crying next to his desk, she drops down and gets her eagle on for his Washington monument, and suddenly he has his swagger back.
Frank is all over the spectrum sex wise.
The scene that sort almost breaks them up is when Claire slaps his face, and wants some grudge fucking. Frank is about to get into it, puts her on the bed, face down ass up.
Claire wants him to see her face.
Frank can't get it up.
The clear implication here is that Frank needs to fuck her from the back because he needs to imagine that she's a man. (short hair notwithstanding)
That's the gist of the sexual conflict between the two of them.
Frank doesn't ID with his orientation.
Claire deals with it silently. Either by wistfully wanting children, or getting some side dick from a different type of alpha. (notice how this effete liberal artiste is able to bag a hot model type after Claire fucks him over)
The fact that Frank is a closeted homo really has nothing to do with Vladimir Putin/Pussy Riot/Gay Protestor. Frank really doesn't care about gay rights at all. He's an old school guy in that respect. What happens behind closed doors, stays behind closed doors.
I realize a lot of you Roissy-lites see it as the Gay Takeover being fed to us via the "golden age of television", but the gay aspect of the Russian sequence is immaterial to the plot, to the characterization, and to the series as a whole.
When Claire suddenly has a heart, it's really unbelievable. Claire of the previous season was far more cold blooded, even more so than Frank - which is what made her so popular.
They could have easily swapped out the gay guy with a Edward Snowden type, a poisoned American journalist exposing corruption, or some other current event.
The real reason for Vladimir is to have Frank face a worthy adversary.
And the other thing that Red Pill guys seem to be missing is that, being the hard charging sociopathic alpha behavior is failing. What might be great in Lincoln's Bedroom isn't good in the Oval Office or the Situation Room.
WRT to America Work's, his own party was like, "Yo, you fucked over way too many people when you were a Senator, we don't have your back". Littlefinger would not be a good king, even if he was a great advisor.
If you come at modern media with A Red Pill State of Mind, I think you're going to miss a lot of what is going on.

Just finished the third season - started strong and faded, and in my mind, season 2 was already a step down from the first season...but I'll still watch because Kevin Spacey is the man.
- I really hate the new model of TV (though I guess its been around for 6-7 years) - release 6-12 episodes, wait a year for the next ones. When I was growing up shows ran all year, 15-20 episodes, then took 4 months off in summer and resumed.
- The final climactic speech Frank gave to Claire in the Oval was red-pill gold, he eviscerated her and then gave her demands and orders, sadly it did not take.
- The Stamper storyline, fuck it. It would have added more intrigue if he had of been killed, and I mean fuck, the President's Chief of Staff goes to Venezuela then New Mexico for at least 4-5 days and no one notices? The fuck!? I give zero fucks about Rachel, and at this point if she comes forward with what she knows, who would believe her?
- Remy and Jackie, just what the fuck!? Never mind that Jackie appeared to have a hard wall collision between runs, Remy is a handsome, intelligent, rich young black man who obviously lifts. He's in the top 1% of Black men here, he can do tons and tons better.
- People lambast Claire, but I like Claire; aside from the fact that Robin Wright does an amazing job, and it's not like Mad Men or Breaking Bad, where the men are always on some cool shit but as soon as it's a 'wife-heavy' episode it's boring, she's actually interesting, and she's an eminently realistic portrayal of a woman who has everything she ever wanted, found some reason to bitch about it, and still finds a way to pin the blame on someone else while demanding more...never once have I bought that she is integral to the process and her leaving is a stupid move on her part, but nonetheless - more drama for season 4.
- Fake Putin looked like Putin and even had his initials (VP). Obvious social commentary is obvious, but the actor who played him did a great job.
- Heather Dunbar seems to be the first worthy adversary to Frank. Sadly her defeat was mostly an off-screen situation, but I wonder how she could come back, but I also think - who the hell would vote for a trust-fund baby who was in the spotlight for maybe a year leading up to this? The reason people take Hilary seriously is because she's been in the spotlight forever, weathered the whole sex scandal and got a job in the cabinet, which she has failed at naturally, the whole Dunbar character just seems so thrown-together.
- Frank is less alpha when he isn't a scheming bastard but as the president he can't just go about shoving people into subways and killing them in their garages, and I get that. Buoyed by a characteristically strong performance by Spacey.
- Pussy Riot sucks. Their desecration of the world's ears with their 'music' is far worse than anything they ever did to any landmarks in Russia.
- The writer storyline was completely pointless.
- There were less fourth wall moments...shame because I quite like them.
