This. People dont understand how key this is. To come to California, you need money, willpower, and DREAMS. California is sold as the city lined with gold. A veritable shark-tank, and who's who of industry, glamour and culture.

The immigrants (namely russian, persian, chinese, israelis) may be starting out at the bottom, but back in their home countries they were at the TOP. They got sold on the dream, came here, and buckled down. To enter the country, travel here, get set up IS NOT CHEAP.

A decent % of the immigrants expatriated from their countries w/a chunk of change (ie Beverly Hills is now all Persian, Encino the same, Tarzana- Russian, etc etc etc).

This rising of the "new blood and money" is what keep LA flowing. Old-school work ethic, conservative money-management, heavy emphasis on education.

Granted this exists in New York proper, but California is the intersection of beautiful landscape, wonderful climate, and money. Its a true geographic hot-spot.

Edit- I will stake a huge sum of money. What do you think brings more enthusiasm to an "untraveled foreigner" - Saying you are from Hollywood, Los Angeles or New York. Lights out, KO.

I know Mike is trolling since he's planning his America exit, but west coast is not. He's may be right on many of his points, but why the passionate identification with a state? If you were born with noble blood, i could see bragging about that, but this is no different than arguing about sports team. Cali people are in the same exclusive club as, what, 30 MILLION people.

That said, I do think I'd have to adapt much more to get laid in LA than an east coast city. Logistics is a huge determinant of success, and it doesn't seem like LA has it, but for the same reason you say that the world is impressed with people from cali, you could easily argue that an east coaster not from nyc has to have that much tighter game to achieve the same level of success.

In my experience, west coast players are more smooth and muscular while east coast players are more methodical and persistent.

Also, I disagree with the women being difficult in socal. In the bay area, you may run into some women that are a bit too full of themselves because of the lack of talent from the men. The gnarlier women(5s and below) are used to getting treated like queens.

If you want to go to a town in California with great ratios, spend a weekend in Santa Barbara. Go during the old spanish days during the summer or during Halloween. Or really any time.

In California if you get a recommendation(doctors can't prescribe marijuana) it is legal at state level to grow marijuana for personal use. You probably should get a county issued ID card so there is a better chance of the police not fucking with you. I know many people who were raided by the police who came in and took pictures of their crops and guns then left and never bothered them again. The police will generally raid people because of tips or complaints from neighbors.

True story, I did it a couple years ago, with my Florida ID - which shouldn't have happened.

All I recall was the pretty young surfer girl receptionist told me, "I'm really supposed to refuse this" (since I had no CA credentials) and even gave me a substantial discount.

I lived in California, and if his show had mainstream exposure (say MTV), I can assure he would get laid on the fame alone (seen it with my own eyes). It wouldn't be as good as, say, being a big-time movie star, but it would get him laid in LA for sure.

It's hard for me to relate, I've lived in five different states, some for over 20 years, some for only a year or so, from the South the to the upper North East. I've yet to experience the West Coast though...

Midwest = dork game. You wear khakis and polo shirts. Make sure your brown shoes match your brown belt. Blown out.

South = chivalry game. They get the girl drawn in with a, "Hey, pretty lady." Then they talk about how the SEC is the toughest conference and how unfair it is that USC goes to the national championship after playing teams like Oregon. Blown out.

NYC = direct, non-stop approaches. They won't take no for an answer. Similar to Brazil game. Lots of make-outs but not many closes.

West Coast = relaxed, no hurries, there's always tomorrow, some palm reading and horoscope talk. Closest thing to European game in the U.S. Works the best.
