I love when people try flaunt their money with $200, likes it's the first time they've ever had $200. I always see that kind of shit on my facebook. The only time I took a picture like that was when I saved $950 in one dollar bills which paid for a trip to New York, I thought that was picture worthy.

My first cd was doctor dre's cronic and warren g- g funk era, but I was something like 7 or 8. When my mom heard them she took them away. After that it was smashing pumpkins melancholy and the infinite amount of sadness and prodigy fat of the land.

Seems like there was better mainstream rock and pop music in the 90's. You didn't wanna shoot yourself listening to the top 40 back then.

This was Call of Duty back in the day. You put like 10 kids on the playground with these and it was a warzone. Damn I miss these days.

Damn Supersoakers were like the best thing for the summer back then. I wonder how it'd be now if you strolled around with one of these.

Man I missed these shits. Do kids even play outside these days?

Ordering cassette tapes from Columbia House, my older brother ordered Nirvana's Nevermind, Pearl Jam's Ten and Soundgarden's Bad Motor Finger (and others) in one shipment back in 92', I'm pretty sure that event changed my life. The early and mid 1990's were a great time to be a young kid and just getting into music, almost every other week an awesome album was coming out; alternative rock, rap/hip-hop, metal, etc.

[img][Image: 11t7tiw.jpg][/img]

I never went to one, but was begging my parents to take me to Lallapalooza in the 90's to see the bands which still remain some of my favorites: Cypress Hill, L7, Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against The Machine, RHCP, Beastie Boys, etc.

Of course, who can forget watching episodes of Ren and Stimpy:

Another one of my favorite 90's cartoons, Bevis and Butthead:

I used to have a hard time understanding why my dad used to be so nostalgic for the 60's (he was born in 1949) and used to only listen to 60s music, drove a 1960 Chevrolet Bel-Air and a 1967 Camero and collected and traded 1950's/60's hockey cards, now that I'm older, I finally understand.

I'm disappointed. 3 pages and no one remembered this? (spring/summer '96)

Or thisSadearly '98)

There's something about this old Chanel ad from 1990 that has always fascinated me, and I'm not sure what it is. BTW, this ad was directed by Ridley Scott.

I was a highschool freshman in '90/'91 when this was popular.

This is another piece of advertising brilliance (IMO anyway.) Hype Williams directed this ad for GAP that came out spring '99, and ran into the summer. That was an interesting summer for me.

Sugar Ray was popular at the same time.

This song was kind of interesting. When it was playing on the radio in '99, I was living in Myrtle Beach (I was there from '98-'02 for college.) I had a copy of the CD and when I visited at Thanksgiving I played it for one of my friends, and some of his buddies who lived in Baltimore. None of them had ever heard it, and they were all floored by it. I guess back then some music was still a little regional.

In '90/'91 Gospel flirted with mainstream, and if you ever see a gospel album on white person's shelf it will be one containing one of these two songs.

^^That's still a popular Houston song. I never knew it was big across the country though, just thought it was a Texas or maybe southern thing. Talking about Wanna Be A Baller.

I think it was definitely a southern thing. It was big as far north and east as South Carolina, but not much above that. As I said, friends who lived in/around Baltimore had never heard it, or the overall style and sound. It's a stark contrast to today, where new music s released on the same day in every single market across the country with virtually no regional variation.
