Fujiwara from China to France, May/June '13

Today is a good day so far - just received the email saying that my visa for China has been granted. My Russian visa was granted last week. Plane tickets have been purchased, the car is on its ship sailing across the Pacific ocean...

now all I have to do is save a bit more cash and get my shit together for my 5 week trip from one end of the Eurasian continent to the other.

What am I doing? link

If anyone wants to link up, I'll be in Beijing on May 27-28, Ulaan Bataar on June 1st, Novosibirsk on the 10th, Samara on the 16th, Kiev on the 21st, and Paris on 29-30.

Afterwards I need to swing through the Netherlands and then London, then back to the States on the 7th of July.

Anyone that is around when I roll through should make it out, the group I'm going with is most likely unlike anything you've seen before (it will be for me, too)

I'd like to thank Uncle Roosh and forum members here for so much posted and hope that some here might be in those cities to link up for a smoke or whatever.

ps: If you're not in one of the cities previously mentioned, we will be going through this way:

I love this shit!

I have a moto trip planned for next summer, and the China-Austria route is a high contender.

Are you keeping a blog or something that I could follow your route?

Great!
At first I was wondering why you´d come explicitly to Schladming, but then I clicked the link and saw that it´s the rally with the antique cars. Schladming is actually not far away from my hometown, but it´s quite boring. However, if you come to Vienna, I might be here in June.

There is a blog that is in the works, I'll link when it's proper.

I have no idea about Schladming; except that I'll be sleeping there for one night. Won't be in Vienna in June, this rally takes up that whole month.

el mechanico, as for spares, we have things like:
-CV axle
-steering box
-2 full size spare tires/wheels
-1 rear shock, 1 front shock
-throttle cables
-clutch cables
-clutch disc
-belts
-condensers
-distributor cap, points sets, rotors
-fuel pumps
-air filters
-carb rebuild kit
-fuses, wiring, zip ties, shovel, everything

Ahh those condensers..

I would bring an entire new cheap carb. A loaded distributor w/ extra points etc. Also would probably put a marine grade water separator with a spin on filter.

Don't forget a 6 and 8 mm tap and die and wire connectors. I would probably bring a couple brake drums for the rear as they strip out (drag racing but could happen on bad terrain) A 36 mm socket..Dykes, wire strippers. 8mm fuel line..Voltage regulator, small hydraulic jack and two stands, a cheap engine reseal kit, brushes for the generator if you're running one with belts and shims...exhaust studs head to block with nuts...Breaker bar..

Tap and die, check, wire connectors, check... no brake drums as the brakes are relatively new and they're very heavy, 36mm socket, check, dykes and wire strippers and extra fuel line, check. I'll check about voltage regulator...

Small hydraulic jack and two jack stands, check, some gaskets, check. We're running an alternator

I need to check about the exhaust studs see if we have spares, but they are on the engine with studs

and yes there's a breaker bar

I'm sure there is stuff that we forgot

Never thought about just bringing an extra carb. We've got a Weber on there and it was never suggested that we bring a spare carb. The intake draws air through the cabin through two heavy-duty air filters so it's well protected.

Weber stock replacement?

Make sure those 36 axle bolts are tight..super tight.. Maybe bring some spare axle bolts and a spare axle..they come loose and the socket for them (snap on not cheap)
