Browsing the Facebook photos of some of the girls tagged in a lot of the club nights photos makes the Manila scene a little more clear. These girls are hot - 7,8,9's.
- Sometimes they have hundreds of 'followers'.
- They have hundreds if not thousands of photos, most set as public (more likes!).
- Most belong to Manila model groups (professional or not).
- Most of their statuses or hot pictures have between 15 and 80 likes.
- Most photos have a dozen or so comments from other girls or dudes about how hot/sexy they are.
- A lot don't seem to have a current employer listed except maybe “Works as freelance model/makeup at xxx”

This is bad news. "The corruption" is VERY strong here. Every big city has girls like this, but even the ones I know in Vancouver don't have this many likes or followers.

No wonder they're always on their phones in the club - it's hard work maintaining all this shit. There's a ton of girls who don't seem to have any regular income, yet always are out partying. They aren't paying a penny ever - and who wouldn't want to get free drinks, champagne and dance with their friends and feel like a VIP?

Wednesday I met a local 'insider' that was able to fill in some more details about the Manila scene.
Being a tourist you are going to be targeted specifically as someone to buy bottles. Promoters get a comission on bottles bought - standard - but a smart promoter is going to create an environment to encourage this. Feed you shots early so your judgement is lacking later, fill the VIP with girls who are coached to encourage you to "get drunk and party" and cheers you or "bottoms up!" you so you drink faster. Sprinkle in some light flirting to tease the guys. Get asked to buy champagne "for the girls!" - any guy knows girls love champagne, if I do that, the girls will love me! (Or really think you're a beta chode falling into the trap of buying bottles) Last, fill in the gaps with model guys so the girls don't get bored with bottle chodes.

I don't know if promoters realize that the tourist "dollar" here doesn't really go as far, especially since buying a bottle at the higher end clubs is as expensive as back home.

What's not clear yet is what if anything financially the girls get out of this. There has to be some incentive - they all have newer phones than me, nice outfits, etc.. They don't appear to be the type that would straight up ask the guys for money for sex. That would be fucking awkward the next time seeing them at the club again or getting a table.

Late Wednesday at Time I'm introduced to a girl that turns out lives in the building next to mine. She's cute, and is smiling at me, but I don't pull the trigger. She had a lot of makeup on, but who the fuck cares - I had a boner when I first met her. What's wrong with me?

I'm definitely over-complicating things. I should assume attraction, be going for more rejections, and remove the responsibility of them to make decisions...

Even online I was doing too much. Some guys here are just asking to come directly to visit, and if they say no, they may still want to later on, if not, next - since there are others that will say yes. No exchanging viber/whatsapp/skype/line/yahoo/facebook or any other shit that lets the girl string you along, stalk you, or waste time asking irrelevant things. Just a phone number and request to meet, and if they have questions say we can talk about it when we meet.

Now I am just asking if they want to meet on the initial message. I still want to screen them.

I am planning to move to Makati later this week out of the fort. The building I am at is not immediately near any restaurants or meeting locations. Manila is like sau paolo, many many shades of grey, you wont be able to tell for certain which girl is bad or not in a club, so just go for it. Same applies to dia. My suggestion was more an idea of rewinding starting back at square one and then rebuild to get in the flow. It seem to me you need to get laid/validated bc girls have some sick radar detecting insecurity/needyness. Also, the places you go to seem pretty much like organized western nights out (If you buy girls drinks they will hang around for a while) Why don`t you do a little bit of mall-game, and online-game and go on a few short dates where you have a one-on-one opportunity to build a connection (even as a warm-up)? It's not saturated with expats. Those few that I saw were the aged American with somewhat younger Filipina wife type. Retired military types of the NCO class. But not a lot.

Whether you could land an 8 in her early 20s without paying her is questionable. The places I went to at night that I listed above were somewhat upscale - upper-middle class types. You would have to have a good game to distinguish yourself and break through their instinctive loathing of the old whoremongers they have seen hunting.

Here's some insta-sociology for you:

It's a 3rd world country that was ruled by Europeans for 400 years and saved and helped by Americans for 50 after that.

It's an inferiority complex / caucasian worship that isn't there in places that weren't colonised.

I've read that even Philipinos in general really see themselves as inferior to westerners. Not just in terms of wealth, but on a deep "they're just better than us" level. Kind of sad. Contrast that to places like Thailand, where although there's still the wealth/coolness gap, they inherently love their country and are proud of their nationality, and are told from a young age that Thais are the best, they've never been conquered, etc etc. Or say Vietnam, where they are even poorer and definitely enamoured with westerners, bu still conscious of having kicked your asses 30 years ago, heh.

It also depends what you consider an 8. If you mean the 80th percentile (an 8 is simply better than 79% of the population in your target age group), or if you mean a 'true' 8 on a standard bell curve where she is better looking than 97% of the population. I flip-flop myself sometimes, but I tend to stick with the 'true' bell curve scale usually.

Yeah I see the rating system as a bell curve, where the vast majority of women are 4 - 5 - 6s, tapering off at both end.

There are a lot of cute 6s in the PI, just like anywhere else.
