First off why are you staying in a hostel with a shared bathroom? Do you think girls will be impressed by that! One of the first rules is to get your own bachelor pad close to the action and city centre.
In Budapest you are 3.5km from the city centre, why aren't you in the city centre? The apartments are cheap there, why not get one for a month and use it as your base.
I would also scratch the baltic countries off your list.

Look, I already told you by PM. At any rate, whatever happens, make your own path and go whatever you want, this is what a real man does after all.

Volk: actually I agree with you. I'm just saying avoid District 8 since most people are scared of that area and I don't want to be held accountable for any liabilities. I actually love this area.
District 8 has a bad reputation because there's a large gypsy/Roma population over there. There's also a large Asian population there and a huge Asian outdoors Market (Négy Tigris Piac, I believe, though it might go by a different name), where I go to when I feel like some Vietnamese Pho, lol. Also, I'm of Asian ancestry, so I can blend in well in this district. However, I'm not sure people go to Budapest to chat up Asians and Romas, but that's where you can find them.

I've been away for a while, after a whole lot of indecision, I'm sticking to the original plan of doing only 2 countries. The Poland trip is now confirmed! I leave for Krakow on June 25th, and I'll stay there for a week, and then head to Gdansk, Warsaw and Katowice. I'll be coming back to London on August 2nd to run some errands, and I'll leave for my 2nd destination on August 13, till now I thought it was going to be Budapest, but I have not been able to find cheap housing or hotels in Budapest, so I don't think it's gonna happen. The cheaper hotels and apartments are usually more than a few miles from downtown Budapest, and if you ask me there's no point staying far away from the city center.
So what other cheap alternatives do I have? I'm looking for a huge city that's really cheap and has friendly women, I'm kinda considering Sofia, but the plane tickets are way too expensive.

Since I'm travelling during high season, air tickets are quite expensive, so I'm still hunting for cheap tickets to Bulgaria, but I don't find any then it will have to Budapest again.

Well if it's cheaper to go to Budapest ... go there. Stay there a few days , or just take a bus to Romania , Bulgaria etc. It's not expensive at all and you can spend time in more towns this way if you want. For 30 euros you can go from Budapest to Timisoara and it's just a 3-4 drive. For Timisoara to Bucharest it's not even 20 euros , but it takes arround 12hours. Same for the train.

I bought Rome-Vilnius ticket yesterday. My other destinations include Brussels,Warsaw,Katowice,Budapest and Rome. I know I've changed mind a lot, but this time it's all paid for, meaning I bought the plane tickets and everything. I'm taking to the bus from London to Brussels, it's really cheap, and I'll only be there for 2 days, and then I fly out to Warsaw.
I will be in Rome for a couple days only, I just had to include it as I've always wanted to see the Coliseum more than anything else in the world. Why Warsaw? It seemed Krakow was a bad idea, and Wroclaw and Poznan didn't have any cheap hotels for me, so I had to go with Warsaw. I need more info on Vilnius, apparently it wasn't the wisest decision, but I figured Prague that since Prague is so full of Tourists I'd better head to Vilnius.
In order to make the most of my trip, other than London to Brussels, I'm flying everywhere else.

If you are still going to Budapest, let me know when you get there. I might be able to clear my messed-up travel restrictions at last.
