Solo. Custom suited. I didn't even bring casual clothes, just work clothes and gym clothes.

So you are here now? Good timing, weather has thawed out and it's been hitting 60 degrees. Roof top bars should be solid.

Nice.

It must have moved.

The logo looks the exact same.

You know the place I am talking about that used to be in Adams Morgan right?

It used to shut down periodically and remodel and they would change the menu and decor to reflect a different "city"? ie Tokoyo or Nice, or Madrid or something. I loved the concept.

It was a legit spot in DC. Had a great set up, one of the best I have ever seen. Fly girls too.

It then closed and became Left Bank (can't believe I remember) http://www.yelp.com/biz/leftbank-washington which looks like it also closed.

This seems to me to be a resurrection of the Cities that was there on 18th.

Yes, you're right. I forgot about the original one in Adam's Morgan. It had been closed down for years. I barely remember it since the Left Bank had stood out for so long in its place. This is the same type of idea but it's now in a different part of the city. Good memory.

Adam's Morgan is no longer a good spot in terms of venues. They all pretty much suck IMO. As that part of the city has declined, U St. has gotten better. AM used to be the shit before U St. blew up.

H St. in NE is up-and-coming but there's no real venue I've seen there that is good for pick up. The venues there and the neighborhood in general attracts hipster chicks more than anything.

I would recommend sticking to U St. bars and hitting up isolated venues downtown. There's little spots on the low in DC that can be hit or miss.

I would avoid Clarendon in Arlington for night game at all costs. There are cute girls but it's a lame social circle and frat/soror scene made up largely of schools in Virginia. It's lacking the diversity of venues and people that you find in DC. I think a lot of guys would be bored out of their minds there. But if day game is your thing this might be the best area in DC for that. Great logistics with the Whole Foods and Trader Joe's in close proximity. Lots of gyms, yoga studios, bookstores, boutique stores and coffee shops in a pedestrian-friendly area.

Yeah, I know my nightclub history backwards and forwards.

The old Cities was sick.

I may have to check out the new one for old times sake.

Great tip.

I'm here, but I'm thinking this weather is too cold for rooftop bars. I'll be headed out soon.

Here's a couple spots on 14th that haven't been suggested. You could hit all of these spots in one night (all on 14th).

http://www.yelp.com/biz/el-centro-df-washington
El Centro on 14th has open bar for ladies every Thursdays and, since it's latin night, there are always some mamacitas in the place. Brush up on your salsa/latin dances (I know you said you don't enjoy) beforehand and show up around 11:30, dance with some gals and you are set!

http://www.yelp.com/biz/black-jack-washington
Black Jack is good for happy hours. A bunch of yuppies who think they aren't drinking. Show up here, get a few drinks, maybe even an appetizer and then challenge that cute girl to a game of Bocce on their indoor courts. The people here are normally grouped up but just plow through it,

http://www.yelp.com/biz/masa-14-washington
Masa 14 has a great rooftop and, on a nice day after work, draws some nice looking ladies.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/bar-pilar-washington
Bar Pilar pours stiff drinks and is dark and cozy at night (not a dance spot, good for chat game).

Hit Churchkey for good beer.

Solid advice on here, though it pains me a little to see some of my favorite spots being outted especially since all those places are pretty small venues .

Though I would disagree with some of the finer points. I think Dupont, Clarendon, and Adams Morgan are the best for pick up. Maybe my vibe is just suited for those places as I'm not part of that social circle. Conversely I think U St has gone down and Georgetown is making a comeback.

2) Cities. 19th and I St. NW. Great spot in the summertime. A spot that could be on South Beach right in downtown DC near Shadow Room. A more snobby and pretentious crowd and NOT easy for pickup but you'll find the best looking chicks from all over the DMV here on Friday nights. It's that international/house music scene.

Is this the same Cities that is (or was) in Adams Morgan?

That place was the best place in DC bar none back in the day.

It was a cool concept too.

No. Cities is downtown off of K St (DC's Wall Street except lobbyists/lawyers not bankers).

It's a restaurant during the day, but on Friday and Saturday nights it opens up as a venue. In the summer they have a roped off outdoor section in front of it with couches so you can see the action from the street. The girls I've seen here are just as good as you'll find anywhere pretty much. A lot of them don't even live in DC but deep in Virginia or Maryland. Lots of fly Middle Eastern chicks, Latinas, Europeans, etc.

http://www.citieswashington.com/

This is where you would go suited down and be straight.

I think Saturday nights is a different crowd/scene. That's the thing with nice club venues in DC. Nightlife in general there is segregated. A venue will typically start out with one kind of crowd but eventually the top promoters will get around to them and to get everyone's money the venue makes sure they have a night for the hip-hop crowd (black people) and then one for international (asians, middle easterners, latinos), and then whatever is left if anything. The Park is a prime example.

Nice.

after Left Bank it actually became a place called Slaviya a couple of years ago and was a decent spot for hitting up Eastern Europeans but closed about 6-12 months ago. the venue was decent, i would have spent more time there if Adams Morgan wasnt such a clusterfuck to get to

I'm not too worried about people blowing up any of the spots I've listed...they are pretty well known but even still don't get jam packed (save El Centro). Which are your favorite spots?

I'm going with Luxe on this. U Street is average at best. It is just where the DC deck gets shuffled black and white and yuppies can feel urban. IMO the other neighborhoods he mentioned have way more attractive women I want to have intercourse with.

The DMV is not great for PUA by any means but it is not a wasteland. You can't post up in one spot and expect a vagina to fall on your cock. Results will require some effort.

The key to success in DC is venue and neighborhood change. You need to be willing to hit 1-2 venues each in 3-4 neighborhoods.

Checked out Cities and the W rooftop bar last night. Nothing.

Cities was dead, just one group of older people. POV only had two cute girls in the whole place, and both were on dates. Lots of people at POV but the girls were mostly old and/or chubby. Will try some other places tonight.

Come on.

I really doubt that tons of guys from the forum are jumping on planes to invade your spots in DC.

So is Adams Morgan good or bad these days?

What are the top spots?

Check the place out on a Thurs, Fri, Sat. and let us know how it is.

I think anyplace is tough on a Tues in DC.

What is "POV"?

Is that some p0rn star bar in DC or something?

(Would that ever even exist?)

I agree. The crowds are definitely cycling away from U Street venues right now. They're still good, in a sense, but they aren't the hot spots like they used to be -- more on the quiet side of things except for Friday/Saturday nights at venues with dancing.

Georgetown Waterfront venues are making a comeback since they've recovered from the tremendous flooding they had, what, like 2 summers ago?

Like someone else mentioned, you can't settle on one neighborhood. You've gotta roll through 3 or 4 and find out where things are happening on any given night.

I haven't been to Gtown in a super long time but I never liked it. I have done lunch at the Waterfront in the summertime but that's about it. Ever since one of my favorite restos there - Houstons - closed down I haven't been back. Aside from Modern, the scene there is dudes in khaki shorts and boat shoes and the girls who roll with them.

Can anyone name a legit venue in Gtown where they've pulled? I'd be interested to reconsider.

El Barocho - Cities is for Friday nights. They only do parties from Thurs - Sat.

http://www.dcclubbing.com/dc-nightclubs-...nd-lounge/

Since you were out on Monday, you should have hit Marvins. Monday is their best night. Hit the rooftop bar and the covered portion on the same floor. If you'll be in DC next Monday that's what you should do.

I've been out of town almost every weekend this year so I haven't been out in DC during the Thurs - Sat cycles but I'd think 14th and U is still better than the other hoods. Centro is cool but gets extremely packed (and loud) downstairs making it hard for pickup. Masa has a decent rooftop.

I think Brixton (where Roosh had the meetup) is still the best place for pickup along with St. Ex.

But, venues in DC are never consistent. I agree that to see the maximum ROI you have to be willing to move around to different hoods.

The time I hung out with Rakishness we met up in Clarendon and then later cabbed it to U St. We hit St. Ex and I found a blonde Jewish chick who I dipped out with and took to JoJo's for some jazz and drinking. Tried to ONS but got a kiss close. Bumped into Roosh and his boys on the street while walking her to her crib. Good times. Key to the story is you gotta work like a mule to pick up in DC. That's why a lot of dudes there just end up going the LTR route. It's a great training ground for running game in other cities. Lots of girls in other cities find DC game razor sharp.

How formal is Brixton? Will a custom suit look out of place? I didn't bring regular clothes.

It's upscale. So you'd be fine. Especially on a weekday after work.

St. Ex is completely casual... leans towards hipster with frat guys and gals mixed in.

Checked out Brixton. No real targets there. Saw a bunch of couples on dates, a few after-work groups and some chubby girls but nothing worth moving my lips for. I just called up my cousin to warm up my bullshitting verbal skills and then walked over to Cafe St. Ex. Nothing good between Brixton and Cafe St. Ex. There were a few couples on dates - including one egregious examples of an average man with a fat, ugly, annoying woman - and a few groups. Eventually a couple of 5-6s walked in and sat near me. I talked to them but they weren't really biting. I walked back to my hotel. On the way, I chatted up a random chick who was stopped, texting on the street. She was open to talking, but I'm not exactly working with the right timeframe to turn an elderly opener into my dick in her mouth so I moved on. She was a 5, but not overweight and I'd probably settle for that if it required little effort.

I must figure out week night game. It's all I have to work with. I've been thinking about transitioning a night time elderly opener into an apocalypse opener, but I'm really not sure if I have the balls to pull of an AO. Tomorrow night, I plan to check out the area around Dupont Cirlce.

Good update. Monday and Tuesday, not much to be expected but good that you are out.

If you will be in DuPont some else mentioned ESL (18th St Lounge) for Wednesdays. It is reggae night and they have a good house band that starts at 10. I have been a few times recently (for the music - I love reggae!). And I have been on the dance floor suited up so don't worry about that. The ratios have actually been good and it is a chill crowd.

PM me if you want, I might be able to meet you there. I got a first date at 7, goal is to close but I am up for plan b.

Cool thing about DC is that there are so many "suits" you can pretty much cross into many different scenes and blend in - especially if you don't act like a tool.

I think on weeknights Chinatown has more going on than U St. area. The spots I've mentioned are really for the Thurs - Sat night cycle.

For Mon - Wed, I would hit Chinatown. Check out the happy hours at Redline, La Tasca, Cuba Libre, Fado, RFD, Bar 7 (next to Mt. Vernon metro), etc. Pretty much that 7th street strip.

Weds night at ESL is reggae night as Kenny said. It can be hit or miss. It sometimes gets a bummy weed smoking crowd with a terrible ratio but sometimes decent chicks come out for that live music.

ESL on Sundays is always worth checking out. It's international music night and one of the best venues to find European chicks in DC.
