Got my first blazer.. how is the fit?

Got my first blazer.. how is the fit?

Key issues- sleeves are too long, i think it can be a bit more tapered especially if you are skinny (you look skinny)

Minor issues-Length could be 2 inches shorter if you just want to wear T-shirts and V-necks (its fine if you want to pair it w/a dress shirt

Slight nitpick, but the color you choose is a bit bland (business/boring). I prefer an dark blue thats a shade lighter than most business attire. Esp if you want to go casual wear.

WIA nails it. Its just too much fabric w/1 tone of color. The off-tone shade/light patterns is an eye-catch.

H and M has decent linen blazers. I bought 1 for a 100 buxs (its 70 online now). It lasted me about 1 year and got tons of compliments.

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

Don't worry about the whole "super slim fit" thing, I think that jacket is your size (or it looks to be, hard to tell from photos sometimes). The super slim fit thing looks good on skinny guys that are 6'2 or so. You don't look super skinny so I think you are fine.

I disagree. Slim fit looks also good on guys with an average figure:

I wouldn't call that fake Bond who doesn't smoke cigarettes like a sissy "super slim fit".

And that 80's baby girl on the left looks like a queer. She looks like she is rolling to The Castro.

Ryan Gosling is one of the best dressed celebs around these days.

I think you look fine. If you are going to a exclusive bar full of zegna dressed guys, you might want to play at their level but if you are going to some average bars, even wearing a blazer is considered stylish.

I don't see how the length could possible be any shorter, as it is it's on the very very short side. You can't measure relative to fingertips because everyone has different length arms relative to the torso. The general rule of thumb is that it should cover your butt, though obviously some 'fashion forward' go shorter than that. (unless I am being thrown off by the shirt not being tucked in)

When I'm shopping for blazers, the first thing I check for, amongst other things, is how long it is. Even if it's super casual, I want it to cover most of my ass.

I hate the trend of "short" blazers for men. Short blazers, imo, is the domain of women. Blazers and sport coats for men should cover most, if not all, of your ass. If you're going to wear something that stops just short at the crack of your ass, then wear a thick cardigan, or a denim jacket, or whatever.

To the OP, it sounds like you're having too many issues with the blazer. I think I would just go ahead and return it if I were you. Last thing you want is to keep the blazer and then regret it down the road. That's money down the drain, and you don't need that at this point in your life. Get something a bit cheaper, so that in the future you'll have a better idea of how you want your blazers to feel and be like. H&M offers cheap, decent blazers. Target's Merona Kesington blazer is another inexpensive, great choice I'd recommend.

Neither do I, it's just "slim fit" [Image: wink.gif]

The style Ryan is rocking is about as good as it can get IMHO.
Well in this case, do you mind posting some pics that represent your style? I'm curious.

I second that, length is good in the OP's photos.

I've decided I am going to return it. It doesn't feel quite right. Thanks for the feedback.

Who is Ryan? The lesbian on the left?

I thought that was that Ellen Degenerate chick or something.

My style?

You should cut the sleeves off bro - Larry the Cable Guy style would look dope as shit with that blazer.

Serious though, it looks good. Shorten the sleeves. And it's only $140 you will spend that on drinks this weekend.

I suppose you can double your conversion rate on chicks if you take that hat off.

As for the Bruce Lee suit, compared to Ryan I don't see a big difference in the styles. It's probably just that Ryan isn't a boxer or Kung Fu pro, hm?
Maybe he doesn't even smoke, I don't know nor do I care. I only judged the look, which I like.

I don't wear the hat.

My Father and Godfather both do though.

The difference is Bruce looks smooth.

And that lesbian named Ryan looks like Ellen Degenerate.
