For Scotian or any other advanced guys, does welding pay good in the land down under? I've heard guys pulling in good cash for rates slightly above that in the US. I'm Currently in a 2 year welding program in the southern US, once done though I'll have the right certs and some experience. Everybody stateside is saying Texas is the move for Welders. Curious if Australia is worth the visa/cost, maybe not for a much better wage but a chance to escape the states.
After looking through the AU Visa site, seems that "1st Class Welder" requires at least 3yrs experience and a company invitation, and assorted welding certs. Permanent residency though which is nice.
