Raybans - stay away from all those fashion glasses.

Choose the glasses according to the shape of your face, hairstyle and nose shape. Don't buy aviators just because everyone else is buying them.

As for Raybans, I personally don't like them because of the Rayban logo in the front, moreover, every guy has a pair of Raybans, if you want to stand out from the crowd then buy something else

These have been the only sunglasses I have ever worn - since age 16. Buy the actual mil-spec models. The glass and frames are the best. I prefer the paddle temples.

You can't go wrong with RayBans, they are classic and won't go out of style.

Technically, being like everyone else will never go out of style.

I appologize in advance for this and fully expect to receive a brutal lashing from some trend whores here..but Aviators (Specifically RayBans) are gay.

Approx. every other trendy, wheat beer sipping, anti-smoking, anti-red meat, limp wristed metro sexual, wears Ray-Ban Wayfarers or Aviators. Please do better than that.

As Mystik said, choose sunglasses that fit your face. As with suits, a better fit is the most important thing.

As for the lashing Rocco81 is expecting, If a guy is worried about what other guys think about his style, then he's doing it wrong.

Many people wear imitation raybans, but few have authentic pairs.

If you're looking for Aviators, Rayban would probably be the least metrosexual or gay. The only more "conventional" would probably be Lacoste. I'd consider Raybans the starting point and it'd just go up to the Gucci and D&G from there, which gets really Eurotrash really quickly. I don't own a pair of aviators either. But if I did, I'd go with Rayban. Keep in mind, I can walk to Melrose Ave. in L.A. Rodeo drive is 5 minutes away. In L.A., I'd say you want to strike a balance between trendy/conformist, and bold/different. I'd rock the aviators but show some variety with the rest of my threads. But, keep in mind this is L.A., where it seems most guys on the street would be described by most guys on this board as "twatwaffles".

Your description seems more suited to people who ear D&G,Gucci,Prada and Armani etc.

I would start at Rayban's and perhaps consider Persol's as a better option.

I agree, raybans are extremely played out...every guy that wants to look cool that has no clue rocks them...

Best thing to do as someone else said before I believe is to pick a pair that fits your face...Spend the extra money for a nice pair, its a great investment.

My personal favorite is Dior Homme.

If you can afford them, Chrome Hearts makes the best sunglasses in the world....At the high end they can run up to $5K/pair though

@Dash- I'd stick w/ the classic aviator look. Sunglasses are an accessory. Don't wear shades that detracts from your overall look. Classic aviators look good with either shorts or suits. That shit the "Jersey Shore" wearing is fucking horrible. My dad would've smacked those off my face. LOL.

THE JERSEY SHORE ARE THE NORTHERN SQUIDBILLIES.

Aliblahba - The Jersey shore dudes are just a characature of what Italians are like all through the North East. Most are not that retarded, but of course MTV takes this and completely plays it out. It is the same if you hand picked the most obnoxious and ignorant black thugs and put them in a house. Sooner or later people believe that all blacks living in US cities act that way. Insert hillbilly, FOB Asians etc and you get the same reinforced stereotype created by media.. Fuck MTV basically.

Dash Global - I mean if you really like the aviators, get them bro but to me its just so trendy. As others have suggested you can pick something that fits your face, and fashion as well or better than aviators.

Rudebwoy - The thing is, D&G, Armani etc.make several different styles. I agree they are bordering status whoreing too, but the companies atleast have various colors styles etc. The Rayban thing isn't the brand so much as just the fashion that was mentioned.

If you have a fashion conscious girl-friend then take her shopping with you.

Also, since you have never worn sunglasses before you will feel stupid even if you wear the most average ones. Its like a guy who has never worn a suit in his life and feels really stupid when he has to wear one for the first time for a job interview.

@Dash- Look into several sets of shades. It's nice to be able to switch up. Gargoyles wouldn't look good dressed up but are fine if you're playing beach volleyball. Pimp some aviators for casual and formal. And good driving shades are a must on I-40E into the sun. And don't spend a lot on whatever you decide. No matter how hard you try they will get scratched up...or lost....or stolen.....or sit on....Spend on what you can replace. I've dropped probably a $1K on WileyX tactical over a few years just for work. Eyewear is expendable. Just lost my aviators in Charleston this weekend. $70 down the drain.

Mystic made a valuable point in taking a girl w/ fashion to judge. A second opinion will save some cash. Oh yeah, I've picked up in the mall by asking a girl to help me look for shades.

Completely agree with this. Have at least 2 shades to switch around.
