Looking at the results(as a non-member), there's some pretty hot girls on the first few pages, but I notice as you click further, the quality starts to deteriorate fast. The first 5 pages or so of girls seemed to be strategically placed there to get memberships.

I stayed in a hotel in avenida sexta march this year and wouldn't recommend that location. didn't witness any crime but there is def an unsafe vibe in the air when it gets dark. even when i went for a quick bite across the hotel around 7pm or so, there were a number of weirdo's (drunk, on drugs, crazy?) wandering around and no police or security in sight. it really feels like you're in the 3rd world

on a different note, prior to going i read numerous reports on how hot girls in cali are and didn't really find this to be the case. they are def hotter than the average north american or european girl but overall quality wasn't that exceptional. i also found the nightlife very hit and miss - for someone without local knowledge it's very difficult to find out what places will be good which nights. this is exacerbated by fact that, as it isn't a very safe city, you can't really walk around at night from one place to the next and will always need taxi's.

i don't want to sound too paranoid but if you're looking for a laid-back holiday where you can just have fund i would advise against Cali, unless you look and sound native.

I was there in February and didnt have a problem with security, of course I used to play college football so I still have 85% of my former Strong Safety shape and can blend in as a local in Colombia minus the heavy local spanish accent so I'm an exception to the average tourist...I stayed at the Four Points Sheraton and walked to Avenida Sexta once but my friends who live there told me that area was kind of hit or miss so I only walked through that area for dinner once and kicked it in Juanchito, Granada and other upmarket (By Cali standards anyway) areas. Overall the chicks in Medellin were definitely hotter and prettier in the face but the bodies and the salsa music scene and clubs in Cali put it over the top for me as far as having a better time. I'm a huge Salsa aficionado so Cali really does it for me on the music and social tip.

Caution: Cali is NOT a place to go and "relax", and unwind. Cali is a city abundant with solid 7's willing to have lots of sex with foreigners. Aside from sex, there is NOTHING attractive about Cali. It is NOT a tourist destination. The only thing to do when not bangin a local calena is to walk around a mall, go have coffee at Juan Valdez in Granada, or see a movie (in a mall). There are dozens of Malls in Cali, the city is designed to be fucking boring as hell, so that the only thing to do if you're a local is work to shop for clothes and spend your check on booze every weekend at local dance clubs. If you want a place to relax and and unwind, scoop a local form any city in Colombia, and fly with her to San Andres Island or Cartagena. This can get expensive however, but it really depends on what you ultimately want.

Cali has changed a lot since I first set foot there in 1988. At that time, before anyone knew what the word "wi-fi" meant, a foreigner was an incredible novelty - now, Italians, and gringos and the like have saturated the city, and the novelty has worn off a lot. This is not to say you will not get laid in Cali if you chase women, but it has lost a lot of its innocent charm I used to know....sadly.


As a latin man, I have moved on to start chasing women in other countries in search of that feeling once more...maybe the unchartered off the beaten path cities of Sweden, Finland and Norway, will do it for me.

Of course, I'll return to Cali eventually, but it's not No. 1 on my list anymore...neither is Medellin. I'll stick to remote cities of Colombia where foreigners simply do not flock to. That's where you will find your gems and diamonds. =)

I have not been to that specific town, but have been to similar ones. Between Pereira and Cali, there are dozens of small "pueblos" one can have a field day with.

WARNING: If you stand out like a crack whore in church, DO NOT venture into these small towns alone, or without a latin guide that knows the ropes. Im serious about this - while you are very safe in the big cities like Medellin, Cali, Bogota. cartagena..venturing off the beaten path in search for diamonds is dangerous as a white/blonde man with limited spanish skills.

With obvious precautions you would use in any European or American city, Pereira is relatively safe. Don't flash iphones, blackberries, and sport diamod bezel rolexes. You will get killed for an iphone/blackberry in the wrong neighborhood, so use discretion at all times.

Thanks for the input fellas. I think I'm gonna settle in Cartagena or Barranquilla and check out Cali over a long weekend trip. If it really is all it's cracked up to be, and worth the safety risk, then I can always relocate.

If you are only going for a long 3/4 day weekend, don't expect a serious amount of bangs. Unless you have girls lined up, and heated, anxiously awaiting for your arrival ahead of time, it can take up to 1 week to go from opening to f-close with a Cali girl. I am by no means an expert on Colombia racial dynamics/relations but with regards to African Americans and local women knowing Spanish makes a huge difference. I had a great time in Medellin which I didn't expect because Colombia chicks in NY can be a hit or miss.
