My ltr got notified yesterday that she is positive for hsv-2 antibodies. We have had unprotected sex for the last 10 months. Says that she has never has a breakout or any other signs of the herp. I assume I likely already have some kind of herpes down there. In most cases it's near impossible to know as males rarely show symptoms and you can't accurately test for it unless you actually have sores present that a doctor and get a culture from.

That said, I've steered clear of sex from girls who I knew had herpes. Call it "ignorance is bliss" but I'd rather not stick my dick in disease if I can help it. You know I said the same thing, at one point 2 years ago, I had some sort of breakout after banging a super slutty chick while I was in an LTR.

They did a swab test and claimed it was Herpes - I told my LTR that it came from an ex. She stayed with me.

I dumped her a year later went and got tested.

It came back negative - I was shocked and explained to the doc what happened.

I got tested twice more soon after, came back negative for any type of herpes.

I've been tested a few times since then, all negative.

I've never had a breakout or any symptoms since the initial breakout almost 2 years ago.

^ You probably have it if you tested positive from a culture when showing initial symptoms. I had a herpes scare a few years ago (girl I was dating had some kind of outbreak) so I went to my GP and he told me he could get a piss or blood test if I wanted to, but it would most surely comeback negative regardless if I have it or not because it doesn't really show up unless having a breakout. He told me to come back if I develop any sores. I never have so I never tested. the girl I was with never showed any symptoms again either, though she had some serious pain one night in her vag. So bad that I was on the verge of bringing her to the ER. Girl was in pain it was hard to watch. It subsided the next day and she went to the doctor and they found some kind of sore around her ass. Took a culture and doctor said she had HSV1 (which is typically the oral strain of herpes often just called cold sores.)

As long as my STD tests keep coming back negative, I would probably not risk it. If/once I do get it, that may change.
