If you haven't seen this movie yet I highly recommend it. It's a little hard to follow, you may have to watch it twice.

That shit is a cult classic.. I think the majority have seen it.. Good movie, single handedly turned me into a Guy Pearce fan

I never realized how big of a movie it was. I had no idea about it until my friend showed it to me a couple years after it came out. It was a really hard movie to follow though. I think I had to watch it 2 or 3 times to fully get what happened.

I watched The Place Beyond the Pines. Big Recommendation.

It's a movie with three stories. Gosling plays the Drive character, this time on a motorcycle. A textbook brooding badboy alpha with a young son. Cooper plays an ambitious but conflicted cop. Then, the movie shifts forward a generation to show how we can't escape the past.

I use Solar Movie and Alluc to stream my movies, and both are good for TV too.

"White Heat" with Jimmy Cagney is a classic movie about a gangster with a mother complex. This is where the famous line "Look at me ma! On top of the world!" comes from. Scorcese was insipired by this movie, amongst others, to make HIS gangster movies.

The Hitcock classics usually make Top 20 film lists. "Vertigo" and "Rear Window" are great ones. After I watched the latter, especially, I actually got offended when Gwyneth Paltrow was compared to Grace Kelly. Not even in the same league. Christ, the women were stunning.

Iranian movies like "A Separation" give insight into different social classes in Iran, and the complexity of the society there. It also has very realistic acting.

Saw Star Trek Into Darkness. Awesome movie, better than the previous one. Saw Ironman recently too, but I thought it was kind of boring. Star Trek was much more exciting and interesting.

Saw Iron Man 3 last week. Not very good, but it has few parts that really make you laugh. Nothing like Iron Man 1 though!

Just watched Star Trek too.

Everyone always hates on movies like this.

I paid $10. I got ~2 hours of explosions, boobs and an entertaining storyline I'm happy.

I watched it and enjoyed it. Kind of expected more but it made me feel good.

I can't stand Will Smith and it looks like we'll have to watch his son grow up and become a Hollywood star [Image: dodgy.gif]

My favorite review quote from After Earth:

"After Earth merits comparison with 2000's Battlefield Earth, John Travolta's godawful film tribute to the sci-fi novel by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. Yes, it's that bad."

And how the fuck does Shamalayan keep getting work? He must have some dirt on someone.

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

Just watched The Place Beyond The Pines.
It was quite good but nothing spectacular.
Ryan Gosling's character was very interesting and they could have done more with his story arc but overall, if I would've went to the cinema to watch it, I wouldn't regret paying the few bucks.
The movie really makes you want to buy a bike and just ride through the country

I watched The Shooter with Mark Wahlberg the other day and it was pretty good. I really like the fugitive type movies and Kate Mara is hot in this one.

I'd recommend watching.

Gangster Squad.

It was very entertaining, predictable and had some bad ass violence and good costume/cinematography. Not really sure how I did not hear about it, there were some top actors in it.

Its well worth a watch.

Man of Steel - I just saw the movie, and whilst I'm elated about quitting my job, I am also in a good mood after seeing the movie. If you don't want mild, to quite large, spoilers, stop reading.

Good points:

1) Henry Cavill is a great superman. Really good. The critics saying he's "too moody" are chatting rubbish, just trying to pick faults for the sake of it.

2) The effects are incredible.

3) The sequels will improve on this film.

Bad Points:

1) It's about half an hour too long, and has TOO MUCH action, if anything.

2) The whole 'becoming Superman' part felt rushed.

3) The whole sequence where he fought the tentacle-like, terraforming machine's defense system was really rather pointless IMO.

There's more for both sides, but I'm too tired to go into them!
