Inland Empire: 2/10 would not watch. I usually like David Lynch, but this movie was hard to watch. The main character has a mindfuck basically through the movie and I guess your frustration builds with hers, but shit it was too long and boring.

Lucky Number Slevin sweet movie. Cool plot twists, funny and exciting. 7/10 would bang lucy liu.

Revolver too fast paced for what it was, debatable acting. all in all it tried way to hard to be deep. 5/10

anyone have any heist/con man movie recommendations? (like lucky number slevin)

haha you must really like that movie. I saw it way back, I'll check it out again sometime. The heist scene was awesome, someone once told me it was the inspiration for the dark knight heist scene.

Good list but you forgot The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, Opening Night, & Shadows!

Also, nothing from Malick?

Passion is your only French movie?

Nothing from Truffaut or Godard or Renoir or Bresson?

Nothing from Italy?

What about Mamma Roma, Umberto D., Il Gattopardo, and Rocco E I Suoi Fratelli?

Nothing from Antonioni or Fellini or Rossellini? Are you serious right now?

Nothing from Herzog or Fassbinder?

Nothing from Poland or Marty Scorsese or Whit Stillman or Douglas Sirk or Nicholas Ray or Buñuel or Kubrick (Barry Lyndon) or Kurosawa?

No Bergman? Wild Strawberries, Scenes From a Marriage, Franny & Alexander....

Still, it's a pretty good list... [Image: idea.gif]

The Friends of Eddie Coyle.

Also, the ones I posted about here.

The Sting with Newman and Redford is a classic.

These are the last 5 movies i've watched

Meet Joe Black 7.5/10 - amazing soundtrack, the tension between the characters was intense and I really liked a few scenes in the movie that ive added to my game.

Gangster Squad 6.5/10 - good for if you just want a basic gangster movie

Magnolia 6.5/10 - bit too long, overall good but could've been better

Killer Joe 6/10 - Good acting, decent story, not much else.

American Beauty 7/10 - Rewatched old time classic

The Longest Yard from 1974. All you need to know is that Burt Reynolds is alpha as fuck in the movie.

I don't really dig French New Wave like Goddard or Truffaut. I think Kubrick and Scorcese are overrated.

Kurosawa is fun but I like Ozu better.

Anna Magnani is great despite the fact that she's essentially a man in a woman's body.

Kiarastomi is also good.

Fargo. Definitely one of my all time favorites. It's a con movie, but much different than lucky number slevin, which was also a great flick.

Fargo is super dark, but outstanding elements of film in this flick. The humor is also very dark, but you'll appreciate it if you're into the type of humor the Coen Brothers bring to the table.

Magnolia was fucking weird. I rented it on 3 different occasions and finally watched it all the last time I rented it. I wasn't into it.

American Beauty was great!

And Soup, Scorsese and Kubrick overrated? Are you on crack?!

Kurosawa was Red Pill.

Red Beard features The Mantis, a woman who kills her lovers.

Kagemusha is all about how the world is so corrupt that the masses need Blue Pill to keep the entire system from falling apart.

Ran features a Hamster in overdrive bringing down the entire system.

Rashomon. Cut through all the BS and here's what happened:

Woman leaves husband for Alpha. Beta husband realizes his wife is trash. Wife still has power over both men, but realizes Alpha won't take care of her and her life is now worthless without Beta provider and society.

The Heat shootout scene was inspired by the real life Hollywood shootout.

I think Heat was 95 or 96 and the shootout was 97.

Iron man 3.

Tony stark was very charismatic, had no filter, showed almost zero fear and always had amazing witty comebacks.

The only thing that sucked was the white-knighting for pepper .
It was like Al Pacino whiteknighting in that movie Scarface.
Take Pepper out and you have an ultra witty alpha dude.

Guy Pearce was the star TBH.
He was alpha as fuck, no women pushed him around, never gave into a woman's demands, he was the black knight ...you don't see that as much in films nowadays with all the feminism going around.

Here are a couple of movies I liked:

^A "cops & robbers" type movie that is funny and based on a true story.

^Good movie. It is a serious drama that gets a little slow in the middle and runs a bit long, but a powerful movie nonetheless.

Saw 'Fall of Olympus' the other day with my Dad...Actually really enjoyed it. It's ultra-violent, so what I think you guys would call a "hard R" rating, but it was really entertaining. A throwback to something from the 80's in fact.

Finally watched The Hobbit. Absolute bore and waste of time. I actually enjoy LOTR movies. The Hobbit tries to be an epic movie but the pacing is off and it seems dragged out. Anytime you make an epic (close to 3 hours), the pacing has to be really good. The Hobbit was not as interesting and visually not as appealing as the LOTR movies.

If you plan on watching The Hobbit, my recommendation is to avoid it.

Next up on my list: Jack Reacher and The Last Stand. Will report back.

Looper - Piece of shit, Hollywood movie.

In 2074, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, the target is sent 30 years into the past, where a hired gun awaits. Someone like Joe, who one day learns the mob wants to 'close the loop' by transporting back Joe's future self.
The main actor made an annoying fart face the entire movie because he was supposed to be a young Bruce Willis. It really went downhill when the witty, tough woman comes out. Not recommended.

I liked it more when I saw it years ago. It wasn't bad but I wish the ending was different. The bad guy is great though

Saw the new iron man

Verdict: GAYYYYYYY

They changed.his character to be a straight up asshole instead of cocky and funny and the ending was beyond beta

Yeah his new found white knightism and betaness sucks. At least the movie had more action and was better than Iron Man 2 (which only had 2 minutes! of Iron Man Suit action.

Also they sort of fucked up the Marvel Iron Man comics cannon

I've heard a couple people say the new Iron Man sucked. Guess I won't be going to see that.
