Two of my three favorite mixed drinks have been mentioned; "greyhound/salty dog", "old fashioned", and "vodka gimlet" was the missing one. I usually order one of the three if they don't have a good single malt scotch.
Any of you have another suggested drink with lemon/lime or any sour citrus that's not too sweet?

I order my G&Ts pink, or loaded with bitters. Same with rye and tonic. Really soothes the stomach while kicking off the buzz nicely. But when I want to drink something entertaining, I reach for a cocktail of my own design...
The Kitchen Soda. Highball glass, over ice. Top with lime.
2 oz vodka
1 oz Chambord
Sprite
7up can be subbed for the Sprite. For some reason, tonic doesn't work as well with this one. It's sweet but not disgusting, it's a beautiful shade of purple that girls love, and it feels nonalcoholic enough to sip through dexterous labor (it got its origins, and name, in massive all-day cooking jags for these huge dinner parties a friend of mine used to throw) but rather insidiously puts you on the train to Shitshowville.

ABC - Amaretto/Baileys/Cognac
ABC is a strong, creamy and tasty cocktail that girls usually love. It's not very popular and I discovered in Tashkent (go figure). Mix Amareto, Baileys and Cognac, et voila. It's simple as that.
It's deadly efficient and powerful as it's 100% alcohol, but very easy to sip. For me, one of the Top 5 cocktails to make a girl drunk.
In this video, they prepare it as a shot and non-mixed, which can be fun, but I prefer it mixed and in an old fashioned glass type. No need ice cubes, or maybe just one.

Ti punch, the french caribbean version of the brasilian caipirinha.
Rum (preferably a strong one), sugar cane sirup, lime et voila. No ice.

Got drunk on it last week in my fav cocktail bar with a russian girl. We had each two mojitos, then four Ti Punch (that she drank without flinching), one ABC, plus two Black Russians for me. We later went to a brasilian party where we downed some caipirinhas. Finding a russian girl who doesn't drink like a cossack, although presumably possible, is difficult. Not that I am looking for (smilie).
Rum that was used for the Ti Punch:

Single malt scotch(glenlevit) if we want to have a genuine drink in hand.
Manhattan/ 7&7 are my go to drinks. I usually supplement the Seagrams( which taste like crap to me) for black label or dewars. Wouldn't waste good whiskey on a mixer however.

Blood and sand is one of my favorites: equal parts scotch, OJ, cherry heering and sweet vermouth shaken vigorously with ice and served in a cocktail glass or up. Lots of speakeasy joints have been gaining popularity the past few years and most bartenders at these joints know the drink by name.

I need to switch up my drink because it gives me a wicked hang over. I almost always drink jack and Ginger or jack and coke and all the sugar fucks me up. My drink of choice is cognac, but at the moment I can't afford to constantly drink it and even if I could I wouldn't to save money.

I've been to this bar for years, and every time i order this it never fails to get people's attention. I suppose the attention-getter is the ice sphere, which is actually pretty easy to replicate at home - just freeze a couple of water-filled balloons.
You can actually do this at home with ice molds. In fact, you can make cocktails INSIDE of the icemolds as well! See pics on my site, Bourbon of the Day
My drink of choice? Michters Manhattan Up with Orange Bitters

I was in Prague at the Radisson Blu Alcron's Be Bop Bar and they have a ton of proprietary cocktails, needless to say I tried several (especially since my upgrade came with $50/1000 Crowns in bar credit a night). They have something called The Alchemist.. I tried yo pry the recipe out of Linda, the bartender, but all she'd give me was the ingredients.
Light Rum
Dark Rum
Orange Bitters
Chocolate Bitters
All served over a hand chipped ice rock with the mix in a beaker for you to pour yourself. I know its a lot of show, but damn it was delicious
If anyone has the chance, I'd check Be Bop out. It's off Wenceslas Square. Note, I'd post a picture, but I only 5MB and 20MB versions on my phone. I'll try and post them later after I save them at a lower resolution.

I rarely mix anything with my whisky, prefer to sip it on the rocks. however recently when girls have been coming over, I'll pour 3+ ounces of fireball in a pint glass and a whole bottle of cider, either angry orchards or reds. I have to admit, it's fucking really good, girls love it and it's strong!!! panties dropping in no time

I'm typically a martini guy or gin and tonics in the summer but lately been on a moscow mule kick, only ginger beer I like however is Crabbies, tried a number of others and hate all others. Pretty strong drink as well considering it's a 5% ginger beer plus a double shot of vodka.

The Negroni.
Learned this one "the right way" from an Australian bartender I traveled with in Vietnam. Based on the ingredients alone, it sounds pretty foul, but the way he did it created the this silky velvety-textured concoction that was truly unreal.
It is equal parts Campari, gin, and sweet vermouth. The trick, according to him, is that you first mix the campari and gin with ice and then sit there stirring it until the ice noticeably begins to melt. Then you add the sweet vermouth and more ice, if needed, stirring again until it begins melting.
It takes a lot of slow stirring and waiting to do it right, so it's best drunk at home or in a quiet, fancy bar.
http://www.chow.com/recipes/10269-negroni
"Even with equal parts Campari, gin, and sweet vermouth, the bitterness of a Negroni firmly establishes the drink as a Campari-based cocktail. No one is undecided about a Negroni. This Italian big brother to the Americano and distant cousin to the martini is so bitter that its dissenters swear it should be stored in the medicine chest. Its fanatical adherents bask in its ruddy glow and tongue-tingling taste. Some contend that this classic cocktail dates back to Florence in the 1920s, when the flamboyant count—and noted tippler—Camillo Negroni asked for a splash of gin added to his Americano. Others say that the drink, mixed with vodka or gin, has been around as long as the Americano. The Campari company, itself unsure of the origin, eventually decided that the drink should be called a Negroni to avoid confusion with all the other Campari cocktails.
For a longer drink, serve a Negroni with a splash of soda. The cocktail may also be shaken and poured straight up in a cocktail glass."
This is one of my favorite drinks. Its 100% booze, strong enough to be a man's drink but also appealing to women. Most girls have never heard of it. For daytime dates that end up at my apartment I always bust out two Negronis and sit on the deck overlooking the ocean.
Another solid drink is the Moscow Mule. Easy to make:
Cut a lime in half... squeeze the juice into a copper mug and drop the entire half rind in the glass. Fill with ice, add 2oz vodka and 4oz ginger beer. Stir.
