@MattC- Bitters and soda. If the bartender goes huh? Say Soda Water and Bitters. Bitters is a common addition to some drinks.

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

Wanted to bump this thread - I have been rocking bitters + soda since reading this thread back in 2012.

Beyond just ordering in a bar, I find myself drinking bitters + soda at home very often. It's a great drink when you are cooking, hanging around your pad, and even better when you are getting ready to go out for the night.

I feel like it sharpens my mind and wakes me up before I head out for a night, which is better than resorting to something like redbull or a highly caffeinated soda.

There are also a number of "handcrafted" bitters showing up on the market, like these two below, which you can order online. It is a cool collection to start and a good conversation starter when you have guests over:

Moscow Mule, cause it comes in a fancy copper container. Mojito, cause it makes my breath smell good and I prefer rum to vodka. Both are full of sugar though.

Yep. What's the English equivalent to bitters and soda? Does anyone know?
This is bitters:

Any good bar or pub should have it.
