I have heard the hate for PB loud and clear.

I just had a local born diehard SB friend say he thinks PB chicks are way hotter than SB.

I somehow have doubts, anyone confirm or have comparison experience?

I have experience with clubs like Stingaree downtown and there is definitely some good talent, again though it seems people cruise in packs from surrounding areas of downtown and plan to stay and leave together for the most part which sucks. You will see hot girls at tables with their trustfund guy friends they have known since high school, and they rarely leave the table was my experience.

Also there are also fine Asian girls but they roll in tight packs and I remember when I tried to talk to them they did not seem to entertain the idea of having any real banter or conversation. If it was an all Asian group especially hard to break in.

Never heard a board member from RVF claim alot of ONS in SD or even night number closes that lead to bangs.

I am thinking about the future after I move from SB which I see happening in the next 2-3 years because Game targets as you get older here lessen pretty quick.

Every girl past 24 seems to have a serious boyfriend and aren't looking to get around.

SD seems to not be worth it. I had much less game when I frequented there though...

There's talent in PB for sure, but like I said earlier I think the ratio of jacked dudes vs hot girls is low so it skews everything. It creates that mediocre girls want hot phenomena Roosh is always posting about that occurs is Washington DC.

I'd venture to say you don't hear about tons of ONS stories in PB on this forum is due to the fact that the type of person who would do well in PB isn't likely to be on this style of forum.

The social circle thing may be due to the fact that many of the college kids in the area use PB as an off campus dorm and tend to view the older post college transplants unfavorably. I knew a group of SDSU girls while I lived there and they were constantly "complaining" about getting hit on by creepy old dudes. However, it didn't seem to stop them from all fucking this 32 year old bartender so who knows.

Completely disagree regarding your ONS comments in PB here. That was all I got for the better part of 5 years '02-'07 and again in '10-'11, along with my friends. I'm not the surfer bro type at all. Just loud, fun, and able to afford to buy a round or 2. ONS culture in PB is huge. I got a lot of 6's and 7's. The place is small, and a taxi is cheap and quick. There are a lot of girls that visit and stay in the hotels. There are a lot of young girls that want to dance and rub their ass all over your cock. Everyone drinks a lot. It's the beach and everyone is looking to party. What more do you want for ONS culture?

Here are some tips:

1. Go out earlier, and to nicer places. I agree with you on the ratios in some places, not others. Stay away from the uber-beach bars and ghetto spots. Firehouse was nice, so was Johnny V's. Moondoggies was suspect, so was Open Bar...etc.

2. Spend a little more. It doesn't take much in PB to skip a line. $10? Start the night with $100. Most guys in PB start with $25 and a flask (I've done both well).

3. Ask girls to dance. They get sexual fast.

SDSU has 30,000 students. One group of girls complaining says nothing to me. The level of insecurity flowing through that college is off the charts (in my experience). Do they even teach algebra there?

There are not a lot of highly active RVF members there. The main info we have to go on is from the GManifesto. If you don't know San Diego, and you don't read G's posts carefully, you would think the entire place is overrun with weak guys that don't make any money, average looking chicks, and taco shops on every corner. His main point is that when compared to Vegas/Miami/Montreal(?)/NYC, San Diego doesn't compare, and he's right. I'll put it ahead of Texas/Orlando/Atlanta/SF/Seattle/Denver/and any Midwestern city period.

If you can figure out how to make $80k/year, with low debt, in San Diego, you can be a baller. Apartment near the beach, awesome food, easy friendships, TONS of outdoor activities, and an overall easier life than most places.

It's a great place to be single in your 30's as you'll have access to a wide age range of women, and it's easier to meet friends than in other cities.

I moved to L.A. for the professional opportunities that San Diego couldn't give me.

I can confirm what your friend says. PB is like a bigger and nicer version of Main Street Huntington Beach and with much hotter and younger girls.

It's very common to see tall, fit, tanned blondes in short shorts prancing around. I also saw the hottest redhead of my life there. Attractive Latinas too sometimes. They seem mostly to be college-aged or in their early to mid-twenties.

CAP7 is right. There are divey bars/mini-clubs on Garnet Ave where attractive college-aged girls are grinding and making out with strangers etc

PB girls are also more friendly and approachable than say OC or LA. It's kind of shocking given how hot they are actually.

I personally recommend a bar called "Tavern." But what is considered the "it" bar is constantly changing with the college crowd.

You will see tons of guys but don't mind them, they don't approach much, they just hang out with their friends or girls they already know. Cold approaches will work.

The downside is it's a very "casual" beachy atmosphere, which is cool, but it can get old fast. On a bad night it can be outright trashy with all the drunk bro punks staggering around.

Ha ha, I'm sure they teach remedial high school algebra like most California universities.

Was in San Diego again the last two weekends enjoying a summer vacation. Here are a couple of observations:

The level of stupid tattoos on white women here is getting ridiculous. Pretty much every girl here has something dumb plastered on her neck, arm, shoulder, leg.

I forgot how hot the Mexican women from Eastlake/Southbay were. There are loads of beautiful, young Latin women here.

There are a lot of "floaters" in this city. I was on a date last night with this short brunette, and she called San Diego purgatory. Very true statement. Most young singles have zero idea of how they are going to make it there.

Downtown on Sunday afternoon was going off. It seems like every hotel has some sort of afternoon pool party going on right now.

^^^^ Went to PB this weekend just strolling Garnet 7:30 Saturday night.

Everyone seems high with a few drink in them.

There are groups of 4-5 beach bros all over the place, I could feel the sausagefest while walking with the chick I was with.

Lots of guys 25-35 trying to act 22.

The girls seemed trashier and not as hot as HB, Newport, or SB. More money usually correlates with hotter chicks I think this holds true. The chicks just look a little dumber.

Feels like Venice mixed with HB Main St. but a higher energy level with more people inebriated.

I think the sausagefest and trashier girls would scare me away.

Don't get me wrong I bet you have 5x the odds than getting laid at HB Main or the Newport penninsula.

It's probably a better place to live and get laid than 99% of the U.S., but competing with a bunch of man child beach bros over mostly trashy chicks isn't my bag.

I like Gaslamp more and this is coming from a SB guy.

I did not go out in the bars at night. This all based off vibe.

I was high as a kite walking through it but very present and clear minded (sativa). I think I would get trashed all the time if I lived there.

Please someone tell me if I am misinterpreting.

^^^More people drink and party in San Diego as a percentage than anywhere I've been in CA (everywhere but SB and Chico). That's why it's so damn easy to meet people. Everyone is all about "chill" and "just hang".

PB is definitely a hit or miss. Sometimes you have to hit up 4-5 spots to find decent ratios. Again, Johnny V's, Firehouse, Bar West (sometimes). Stay away from the Tavern, Moondoggies, Open Bar. Beachcomber on Friday nights ALWAYS has easy targets. It's a USD night. Saturday was historically an older crowd there.

Northpark now has a great bar scene if you like hipster and Latina chicks. Not a lot of people with any money in North Park, so again, go with $100 in your pocket (you'll only spend $50) and be one level above the rest of the crowd.

^ Are the bars in North Park all walking distance from each other?

About how many are there to choose from?

In SB there are roughly 40 bars all walking distance, but really about 15 or so the younger crowd sticks to.

Travesty, most of the hotter girls don't really come out to Garnet until later. The ones hanging around in the early evening are just beach bums and people who live there. A lot of hot college students and tourists come out at night after 10 pm. I don't bother going until at least 10 pm. It's also possible it was just a bad night.

And yeah the girls are "trashy hot" not "classy hot." So it depends on what you're looking for - if you just want a cheap thrill and love beachy white girls it's a good spot.

Would you guys say that the close proximity of many military bases next to San Diego (especially Camp Pendleton and various Naval bases) really skews the ratio? I would think that every weekend there are thousands of horny military guys inundating the beach bars which even San Diego State girls can't quite make up for this gender imbalance.

Not at all.

95% of all military guys hook up with 3's and 4's constantly. They've never gotten in my way. Military guys tend to stick to military bars.

The top 5% of military guys kill it.

Long post with my experiences having lived in SD for four years. Sorry if this is the wrong format for this kind of post or this information has been given elsewhere. I've been reading the forum for a while but I am new to posting.

I lived in three areas of SD: North County (Carlsbad and Encinitas), PB (Crown Point), and north of Balboa Park (North Park/Normal Heights). By far, North Park/Normal Heights was the best for quality of life and women. Now, I had a girlfriend for most of the time I lived in SD (blue pill days) - I was only single for part of the last year, when I lived by the park - so of course take this breakdown with a huge grain of salt. I am mostly speaking from observation here, although near the end of my time in SD I did eventually get out and game.

North County:

Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach and Del Mar all have a high concentration of beautiful women. They are mostly generic So Cal white girls, but you will see plenty of pretty latinas, too, and occasionally a hot asian. There are very few blacks in North County. I've grouped all of these cities together for the sake of brevity, but the reality is each has a different vibe and attracts/creates a different type of personality (Encinitas, for example, has more pot-smoking hippies, and Carlsbad has more plastic chicks and Crossfit girls). I lived in Encinitas for a year and Carlsbad for a year.

It is common to see 8's and 9's on the beach, shopping, walking downtown, or sipping good craft beer at the trendiest new garage brewery (I read somewhere that North County SD has the highest concentration of craft breweries in the US per capita).

However, there are three main obstacles I see for a guy visiting North County purely for game.

1. There is a "college gap". If you see a pretty girl and she looks young, she is probably still in high school, since most girls move away for school once they hit 18. Many move back home when they can't find a job in SF or LA, and there are plenty of transplants, so young professionals in the 24-30 range are probably going to be your biggest opportunity here. If your target demographic is 18-24, those girls are most likely going to be townies, which brings me to point #2...

2. Everyone knows each other. North County is small. Going to the bars is like going to someone else's high school reunion. So if you're just visiting, it's going to be hard to crack into those homegrown local beauties, since their social circle wall is going to built twenty feet high of tan, jacked surfer dudes with names like Rat and Flea. My point is, social circle game is probably going to yield your best results. I remember one time I went to a bar with my ex, and every single person there was from her apartment complex up the street. Now that I think about it, that apartment complex was pretty much a cult. But it was, like, so close to the wet sand, man.

3. The highest value is being good at surfing. This may not be a problem for you if you surf well. I don't, and I'm guessing most guys who didn't grow up on a surfboard in a place like North County aren't, either. I'm like a goat in the ocean on those foam-and-plastic deathtraps. Which is why I can say if you don't surf, you're going to be massively out of your element in North County, since the entire culture there revolves around surfing. Every person you build rapport with, from cute girls, to bros, old people at the supermarket, and your sushi chef, will ask if you early on if you surf and will offer to paddle out with you. That blonde with the great tan you met last night at 1st Street? She can definitely out-surf you, and going for a session with you is probably the first step in her vetting process.

Pros: beautiful women, good beer, great surf
Cons: "college gap", social circle is king, getting punched in the head because you accidentally dropped in on some bro's wave and ruined his moment of bliss on the sicky gnar gnar

Verdict: Worth it if you can invest the time, probably difficult on a shorter visit.

Pacific Beach:

I lived on Crown Point for one year, about one mile from the main strip in Pacific Beach. To give you an idea of how much the nightlife in PB sucks dick, I went out there exactly four times. While there are a lot of hot girls in Pacific Beach, their hypergamy is to the extreme, the ratios suck ass, competition is heavy and can quickly turn violent, and most of all, it just isn't fun. I'm sure the personality types P.B. appeals to will disagree, but I'll just say, there's a reason SD locals loathe that place.

The only reason I stayed there so long is because Crown Point and Mission Beach are absolutely beautiful, and tons of fun during the day. You can ride your beach cruiser up and down the beach, have a beer and some tacos, go fishing or sailing on the bay, and call it a day. When it came to nightlife, though, my friends and I always just ate the $30 cab fare and went to the Gaslamp. Going out on Garnet got old so fast, three out of the four times I did it were to show my friends from out of town what it was like.

So, why is it so bad? For starters, Garnet is full of drunk fools who watch too much UFC or maybe are aspiring to be fighters. They fuck up the mood beyond saving. Yes, there are plenty of gorgeous, college-aged women due to the proximity with UCSD, but the ratios in the bars and clubs are not good. It is usually three drunk monkeys to one cute girl, and you know what that means: her ego is skyrocketing from all the attention, and her standards reach near-impossible levels. Maybe that isn't a problem most places in the world if you have game, but in P.B., it might be. Guys in P.B. are tall and the majority are tan, lift heavy, and have decent game. They also travel in huge packs, either with their fraternity brothers, MMA gym bros, or Marine buddies if they are in the service. You will see fights in the street on any night. You will see roided-out bros at every bar and club. P.B. is a magnet for this personality type.

Oh yeah, and it's expensive as fuck. A can of PBR will cost you $7.

If I were to go back, which I doubt I ever will, I would focus my gaming 100% during the day on the Mission Beach strip, where there are many tourists and girls in smaller groups, or a niche social circle like Crossfit or mountain biking (which seems to be popular there).

Pros: hot girls, nice scenery
Cons: Everything else

Verdict: Avoid.

North Park/Normal Heights

I lived on the border of North Park and Normal Heights for one year. This is by far my favorite place in SD, and the place I believe is best suitable for a single guy looking to game. I did have some first hand game experience here, since I broke up with my GF and began swallowing the red pill during my time here. But, it also has the best logistics, ratios, and overall nightlife of anywhere in SD. There is a diverse mix of women, with white, hispanic and asian all sharing a fairly equal proportion, most are between the ages of 20-26, and their personalities are easier-going and less frivolous than girls in P.B. or North County. Music, art, and good cocktails are the cultural pillars here; surfing is not such a big deal.

North Park and Normal Heights can be lumped together as one "spot" even though they are two separate neighborhoods with distinct cultures and character. They are about fifteen minutes apart by walking. University Heights is a little bit farther away, but still walkable, and only a short cab ride if you don't feel like walking. North Park is more established and has more traditional bars, with an overflow of students from SDSU, while Normal Heights is still up and coming, with many hipster bars, and a crowd of young professionals, musicians and artists. Both are expensive, but less expensive than other places in SD. My favorite places to go out were Sycamore Den, Bar Pink, Small Bar, Tiger Tiger!, and Polite Provisions. The crowds at these places usually had a good ratio, with a lots of cute girls, guys who were (mostly) not hyper-aggressive roided-up cuntbutts, cool bartenders, and a generally friendly vibe.

For daygame, I would recommend either of the Lestat's Coffee Shops (also a great place to work), Balboa Park, or 30th Avenue.

The best thing about North Park and Normal Heights, and to a less extent University Heights, is that everything is in walking distance. Unless you live way the fuck out next to the 15, your place will probably never be more than a fifteen minute walk from the nightlife, and once you're out in the nightlife, most of the places you will want to go will also be no more than a ten to fifteen minute walk. I've never been anywhere in the US that had better walkability than North Park/Normal Heights.

If you can't tell from my praise, yes, I had good results in this neighborhood, and enjoyed my time there more than my other three years in SD combined... but I do not know whether that was because I was finally single (probably about 25%), or my look fit better with the crowd than other places (probably also 25%) or if it truly was because the demographics are actually better for normal guys than other places in SD (probably 50%). For reference, I'm average-looking, 6'1, with a little bit of muscle, shaggy hair and a trimmed beard, and my style is okay but nothing special... usually just jeans or work pants, brogue shoes, and a button-up or fitted v neck.

Normal Heights is hands down my favorite place in SD, and one of my favorite neighborhoods in the U.S. North Park is a close second. University Heights, while a little bit farther away - you will need to walk a while, ride a bike or take a Lyft or a cab - is also good. My best memories from SD and a few legendary SNLs, all came from this neighborhood.

Pros: Great nightlife, great logistics, cute girls who are open to approaches, overall friendlier vibe than most of SD
Cons: $12 cocktails, traffic, far from the beach, mostly safe but crime can be an issue.

Verdict: I am far from an expert player by any means, but I think a guy with good game could absolutely kill it here.

Here's a perspective from someone originally from NY/NJ: there are definite hotties (for my taste some of the best looking girls I've seen in the US) out here both in daygame, nightgame, and internet game, but it is really a different scene from Boston or NYC where most girls have careers/know what's going outside of the their bubble.

There are a lot of crazies/weirdos out here too which is not a positive if you are a regular guy. Shit is really overpriced too for a 2nd rate city (compared to LA or NYC), but the weather and zoning restrictions make it that way. There are some definite great night game spots though. I know some great night and day game spots, so PM me if you are passing through or a local, and we can figure out a time to hit on some girls.

Very nice post. Not being from Cali I can't speak to most of it but having been in PB for 2 nights that is almost exactly how I saw it - just awful for game in general. Saw a few fights there and the ratios just sucked big time. Once the bars let out (IIRC really early bc it's California) seemed like the party took to the streets and also the late night restaurants. There were people walking all around most were ok but clearly some were looking to throw down due to frustration and nowhere to go.

Lot of tatted up girls I would never touch that were in any case getting loads of attention from the get-go. 3-1 ratios etc. The 'surfer dude' thing is pretty lame too, as is those lame cruiser bikes everyone rides. Was pretty awful on the whole, especially with me coming there right outta Eastern Europe (!).

Sounds like North Park/Normal Heights are the places to go.

In any case nice post.

San diego

Just a heads up - there is a huge influx of Scandinavian tourists and exchange students in San Diego. I've been noticing this trend in the past six months.A lot of them are in Downtown and Pacific Beach.

The singles ratios in Man Diego are tied for the worst in America (alongside Seattle). It's bad.

I believe you can get girls in Man Diego but you're gonna need uber tight game, live downtown (in the Gassylamp), and approach daily.

I wrote a report on San Diego in another thread. I'll paste it here:

Just spent a night (and part of the following day in San Diego) with mah boi FCP.

We visited pretty much every key spot (The Gassylamp Quarter, Belmont Park, La Jolla/UCSD, SDSU, Pacific Beach, and The Fashion Valley Mall). I believe the only important spots we missed out on were Ocean Beach and Old Town.

THE GOOD: San Diego is a very scenic city. You've got mountains, hills, beaches, and palm trees. SD has a Mediterranean climate, nearly identical to its SoCal brother up north, Los Angeles. The Gassylamp Quarter is the name of the downtown neighborhood in SD and it's pretty cool. It mostly boasts a fun vibe, it's clean, it's nice, and there are a slew of women running up and down the main street there (5th Ave, I believe it was). The Gassylamp is definitely a far better spot than Hollywood and Downtown LA. It's much cleaner, nicer, safer, and has far more foot traffic than Los Angeles' main two night game spots. I didn't manage to pull any women but I did do roughly 12 approaches and most of the women were receptive. I think SD is definitely better for game than LA, not that that's saying much. We also visited a very upscale neighborhood called La Jolla. La Jolla was very beautiful but thin on babes, as expected. The neighborhood was saturated with wealthy old geezers.

THE BAD: Logistics. I knew they'd be bad but they were worse than I thought. The traffic was bad (not awful) but what really made this city a logistical nightmare was the extreme sprawl. Every time we plugged a new spot into Waze, we had to take the highway. Our next destination was nowhere near our prior one. If you were to move to SD, I'd recommend that you set up shot in the Gassylamp. Outside of the Gassy and maybe the Fashion Valley mall, you're going to be hard-pressed to find spots to game at.

THE UGLY: Cock-blocking belligerent, ghetto beta orbiters. There were a few of these dudes in the Gassylamp. I figured that San Diego, due to being upscale and clean, would be immune to these shady characters, but I reckon no American city can boast such a claim. It also took us about 40 minutes to find parking in the Gassylamp. Not fun.

All in all, SD is a nice city, but far from ideal for pick-up. A wise man named G Manifesto once famously said that SoCal was the worst part of America for the single man looking to date, pull, and pork honeys due to its horrific blend of logistics, flakage, competition, and "tribal" social nature. Not sure it's as bad as Wyoming, Montana, etc, where you're more likely to find a cow than a human, but I can attest to the fact that the logistics from LA to SD are nightmarishly bad. Every true playa knows the value of logistics in this game.

"Niceness" of the city: 8/10
Quality of women: 6/10
Quantity of women: 6/10
Logistics: 2.5/10
