Go home to "family" in a different city.
Fake illness -- it is the flu season.

My way of coping with the holidays is to hide out as much as possible. Everything gets fucked up: my approaching, gym schedule, all the stuff that's "me" time (and there's a lot). I hate traveling during the holidays, I hate shopping (I don't do it anymore), and I hate picking up on the stressed out vibe that everyone else has. I make a point to avoid commitments or making plans. I know I'm a total scrooge, but fuckit, I'd rather just see family some other time of year when it's less disruptive.

How does a player handle the holidays?

Holidays always have depressed me when I see young families that all (appear?) to be happy, and adults & children who get all sorts of gifts from all sorts of people, and then genuinely seem appreciative of it.
I don't know, I get kind of angry during the holidays. Especially where I'm at now everyone has these huge extended families.
Maybe I should volunteer at one of those shelter things or something. Who the fuck knows.

I think it might be good to use holidays to burn bridges with all your hoes. Or, take the day off and tell them all you are visiting your uncle.
If you want to be a real asshole, throw a huge holiday party and invite them all.

Going back to my hometown for the holidays is like shooting fish in a barrell.
the people who never left have next to nothing new in their lives, but the people who did have all kinds of interesting things that pump up their attractiveness.

Things they look good in.
Possibly some partner dance lessons. 2 birds 1 stone type of thing since I want to get better at it myself.

Pretty old thread bump but seemed like the only one relevant.
What do you guys think of holiday parties? Like the typical corporate ones where they rent out a venue with open bar, games, etc.
I'm really happy that my company doesn't do a real holiday party. I have no interest in hitting on coworkers (terrible ROI + risky as hell), and I see work as a place where you make $ and get out. Sure I socialize with coworkers on a limited basis to keep a good relationship, but getting wasted with them isn't my cup of tea.
However, it seems like attending othercompany parties where you get invited by a friend as a +1 can be fun. Its an open bar and you have much less to lose if you're making subtle moves on girls.
Thoughts?

I am also interested in hearing about Gaming in mixed New Year celebration group or is it better to be low key, just getting to know better girls and then inviting them out solo in January?

Happy...
That i am unbounded by the cultural indoctrination & can spend my time in monk mode. Prior I used to go out with my jewish & non-holiday friends #GoodTimes
These are the times I see extended family...
Ive never celebrated holidays (nor my bday) i don't buy into a specialized day as life itself is special. I see others doing a load of stuff they never do in life all for a holiday...
If you genuinely enjoy it why not do it throughout the year...
To each his own, this time of year is peaceful, other than ex gf never had to spend time. At worst i bang a chick and go back in hibernation to work on myself.
P.S...I thrive in solitude, goes hand in hand with me living life
