I wonder if Roosh is a multi-millionaire by now.

In his most recent blog post, How I Trolled Lithuania’s Biggest News Site, the following exchange takes place:

Quote:Quote:

Reporter: Do you actually believe that things written in your books work? Does anybody actually buy your books?

Roosh: My books are “non-fiction,” which means they are true. I noticed that no one in Lithuania is actually challenging my observations. I’m accurate in Bang Lithuania like I have been in my eight other love tourism guides.

I have sold almost one million of my books. I hope to cross the two million mark in a couple years. While some men prefer to spread their manliness by having children, I write books. American men are hungry for sex knowledge, and my books satisfy that hunger. I know what men truly want…. sex.

Bearing in mind that he was trolling the Lithuanian media, I'm not sure if he made that figure up, but I bet he's doing pretty well.

Roosh is self-published, so I'm sure he gets a few dollars minimum for every book he has sold, especially the eBooks. Even if he's only sold a half million books, if he gets $4.00 per sale that's $2 million pre-tax.

Roosh, if you have done that well - [Image: icon_worship.gif]

EDIT: By the way, Roosh, I know you said that you "couldn’t be bothered to shoot a response video" but please give us one after this. We've been talking about IRT a lot lately around here and so the topic of trolling is hot. It's only right. Your sense of humor is much appreciated at RVF, and you deliver it pretty well in some of your videos:

I sincerely hope he does sell that many but it's probably an exaggeration in line with the line about his twitter followers.

He's not a millionaire but I'm sure he does pretty well. Lets look at his income sources- book sales and web traffic and ads from rooshv, rooshv forum, return of kings, fatgirljihad (not sure if still his). He also has a youtube channel where he makes some money off his videos. His blog rooshv is worth a good sum of money so decent cash has to be rolling in from that. Rooshv forum is hands down worth the most and Im betting a better sum of money comes from that as well. All in all he's doing pretty well for himself.

It's possible. Amazon pays a 70% royalty rate on a $2.99 or higher sales price. It all depends on unit sales. I think he goes through Smashwords or something similar which covers all ebook platforms plus a print copy. They take a chunk. Say he makes an average somewhere between 25% (low) and 45% royalty rate the formula would be royalty rate times the sales price times the number of units. If he sold a million books at a $2.50 profit per unit he's made $2,500,000.

Kindle has an ebook tracker that charts sales but it only covers Amazon ebook sales. You have to think of the niche he's in, how many forum members plus lurkers plus everybody else have actually bought books? Off the top of my head I would estimate his sales anywhere between 50,000 and 250,000 with a margin of error for my unscientific method of at least 15,000. So call it low end 35,000 units at $2.50 equals $87,500. High end is $625,000.

My numbers are off the top of my head and the two big factors are profit per unit and number of units but either way you slice it, that's a good chunk of change. I hope I'm way off and both numbers are way higher. In a best case scenario imagine he's making $4 a unit and he's sold 1,500,000, that's $6,000,000 and he can afford to sport one hell of a forum meet up!

At the rate Roosh is going he's definitely going to have a bestseller in the future that not only makes a huge profit on its' own, it also boosts all his previous books. So if he's not a multi-millionaire today he definitely will be.

The money to be made by selling books pales in comparison to money to be made by doing gigolo work. Everyone knows that.

I've come to realise that in the majority of cases, the media is not interested in the truth.

I'm reading about the history of the autism-vaccine link at the moment. Scientifically, there is no link. Non-vaccinated children have the same rate of autism as vaccinated ones. This has been known for years but media outlets have purposefully ignored these findings and the myth persists and is sometimes still promoted by media. There is a conspiracy to promote a link between vaccines and autism where there is none.

There's no point telling the truth to journalists, they are trained to ignore it and rather focus on selling sensation.

Media companies are interested in maximizing shareholder earnings, like every other company. That certainly does not go hand-in-hand with "the truth."

I've sold about 25,000 books (conservative estimate). I don't think it's more than 35,000.

Solid work, nonetheless!

If Roosh were a millionaire, he would have changed the "S" in his middle name to a dollar sign by now, as in "Roo$h." Everybody knows that.

Sounds much better than the "Rooshas Vorekas" name the Lithuanians gave him in that article.

I'm not of the impression Roosh is balling yet from his e-book sales. But his popularity is rising fast. I remember this forum a few years ago when one could literally spew off the name of every poster. Now whenever I enter and read a topic usually I don't recognize half the posters. His growth now appears to be rapid. I wouldn't be surprised if 5 years from now he was doing very well.
