What colognes do you own?

Anyone ever used Abercrombie Fierce? It does smell unique, but it's just too overpriced in the UK.

Fierce by Abercrombie & Fitch - yeah yeah, laugh all you want, but it gets attention and I enjoy the smell.

Is this cologne laughable in the States? Overplayed? I've been using it for 2 years and practically no one recognizes it here in Brazil.

By the way, can anyone recommend me a fragrance similar to Bulgaria Aqua? Something light, citric/very refreshing, as it is really hot where I'm located.

You better sample this one before you buy it. Consider a masterpiece by many in the fragrance community, but many women don't like it at all.

If you're not familiar, A&F's demographic in the US largely consists of trendy/preppy highschool and college aged kids with parental money to burn (in fairness this could obviously be a good or bad image to associate with, depending on the circle of friends/women you run in), and "mall companies" such as A&F are not generally renowned for their output of quality fragrances; to the contrary, they're kind of the lowest common denominator of designer fragrances. Fierce, though, has stayed on the shelves for longer than most mall company fragrances manage, and it has a pretty well known and respected perfumier behind it, actually the same guy who made Burberry London, Polo Blue, and a couple of things for Theirry Mugler and Tom Ford.

It is perceived as a bit juvenile and proclaimed cologne "aficionados" might turn their nose up at you for wearing it, and it does also carries a rep for being a bit overplayed; again though, like 1 Million, I've actually never noticed another guy around where I live wearing it, so take that as you will.

I actually happen to think it's firm association with the younger crowd having scared away most guys from wearing it is a good thing... Ultimately means fewer guys wearing the same shit as me. ;P

What reactions have you gotten with it from Brazilian women?

Yeah, no way in hell I'd blind buy something this expensive and polarizing.
Since it seems to be impossible to find a store that carries this juice around where I live, let alone a store that has a tester bottle, I've been thinking about just biding my time and saving up for the masculine sampler they offer.

I've heard good things about Noir Epices, Bigarade Concentree, and French Lover, too, so why not...

Cause I said so. J/K. For real, sometimes they will flirt to get the brand name, and go buy that shit for their b/f. Colognes are most effective when they are new, and the girl has never smelled it. Once they catch on, like Drakkar back in the day, it becomes useless. Plus it adds to the mystery.

The only thing I have now is:

Aqua Di Gio
Burberry Brit
Givenchy Play
Some real expensive shit from the ME that smells like ass.

You guys have peaked my interest in:
One Million
Green Irish Tweed
Le Male

I recommend blind-buying both Le Male and 1 Million, very unlikely you'd regret either. Le Male is a timeless classic and 1 Million, though fairly new, is quickly shaping up to attain the same legacy.
Seriously do go easy on the trigger with 1 Million, though, BTW. It is the strongest male fragrance I've ever personally used.
Would suggest getting it from a reputable retailer like Macy's or whatever, too... This stuff is apparently one of the most counterfeited colognes on the market right now.

I've heard a lot of good things about Green Irish Tweed, so I'm curious to at least smell it and wear it for a day or two, but I've also heard a lot of people say that it's just a glorified version of Davidoff's Cool Water, which costs about one tenth as much as GIT... I've smelled neither, yet, so I can't comment.
Read basenotes and come to your own conclusions, I guess.

Buy 1 Million, Ali, don't even sample it. You probably won't like it, but judging by your posts and the way I think you look, girls will eat that shit up. It's like grapefruit bubble gum, beast for night game. Green Irish Tweed is a pretty standard spring/summer (all year in my opinion) scent that nobody likes but it's not special. Good for everyday use but it's too pricey for what it is.

As someone who also hates smelling like other guys and avoids telling women what I wear so they can steal it for their boyfriend, I will tell you that Le Male and One Million are two of the most commonly worn colognes out there.

Aqua di Gio is right up there with them though so if you don't mind wearing that then you should be fine.

Green Irish Tweed is a classic but it's pricey enough that it's not nearly as common as those other three.

Hah yeah that Boss is a classic used to use that a lot.

A really old school scent is Green Irish Tweed by Creed. Expensive but unique and very masculine.

Issey miyaki has a great men's scent too, forget the name but it comes in a cool light colored bottle.

That's really expensive though, 87 pounds for 30 ml. Anyone ever used Abercrombie Fierce? It does smell unique, but it's just too overpriced in the UK.

I use it. Girls love it.

Should have bought Dior Homme Intense, far sexier than DH.

I've sampled it a few times and I've got a friend who has gone through 2 or 3 bottles of the stuff. High quality gourmand, good projection and longevity. Strong coffee vibe from this but it's not synthetic smelling at all, like I said, high quality and blended nicely. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the coffee type scents, so I'm not going to pay the over the top niche prices to own New Haarlem.

Rochas Man is a far cheaper alternative, smells similar but it's not blended as well. I suggest you sample both fragrances. For use in the winter only in my opinion, could be used on colder fall/spring days though.

Hm... How do you think it compares to Angel Men, in the gourmand sense?
I really enjoy Angel Men, but just about the only thing that disappoints me is that the coffee note isn't too strong and doesn't hang around very long...
Having not had the chance to try A*Men Pure Coffee before it was discontinued and fell off the face of the Earth, I'm definitely interested in trying a more coffee-centric gourmand.

Don't think New Haarlem and A*Men can be compared at all, very different scents. Personally, I enjoy A*Men and Pure Malt a lot more.

If you want the coffee smell, New Haarlem does this a lot better than any Thierry Mugler scent, including Pure Coffee.

Hm, interesting. The note breakdown on Bond No. 9's site lists "coffee, vanilla, patchouli", so I was expecting it to be at least vaguely similar to A*Men.
Thanks for the info, going to have to try and procure a sample of this stuff.

Shouldn't be too hard to find 1-3ML decants online. Ebay, fragrancenet, and perfumed court are where I'd start looking. Also search the basenotes forum.
