Nah. It's because Swift has an image of being pure and modest, while Rihanna casts herself as sexy, erotic, passionate, etc. As that comment suggests, it's all marketing. Rihanna could be a virgin, it wouldn't make much difference.
As I said, in the past, when you were a record executive pitching a pure little princess type singer to the world, you'd do your damndest to keep her sexual exploits out of the press. You'd rather she not fuck at all, but if she did, you'd make sure no one heard about it. If they did, their celebrity would be at risk, customers would get angry and stop paying, and the whole enterprise might collapse.
No more. It doesn't even matter if the image is transparently false and everyone knows it. That's the case with Swift. It's just no one really cares any more. Just saying it in my mind, an imaginary parent saying "I won't buy you Taylor Swift's album because she's not a good girl" just sounds so quaint and last century.
No, I think it goes deeper -- and is more perverse -- than that.
Because the REASON Swift's actual behavior doesn't matter is that this behavior IS OK in the minds of the modern 16 to 28 year old females raised in the feminist laden early 21st century. She's dating lots of "cute" boys. She looks like a porcelain doll. This behavior is ACCEPTABLE, even admired. It's not hypocrisy at all. This is who she is and, Ellen DeGeneres excepted, lots and lots of females are fine with it.
Meanwhile, Rhianna goes on Oprah, confesses that she gets the crazy tingles over the guy who slaps her around, and the femcunts are horrified. "Poor poor girl," they say. She is pitied, and she generates outrage because Rhianna actually exemplifies the deep seated evolutionary inclinations of a woman to submit to a dominant man.
The images they cultivate, actually, take on secondary importance. It's the actual lives that women find of interest.
Your specific points are true, but they don't show why Swift is a princess and Rihanna is a temptress. Rihanna had a bad girl image long before she got busted up by Chris Brown. She had an album called "
Good Girl Gone Bad" in 2007,
two years before the Chris Brown incident. The whole 'Rihanna liking bad guys makes her a bad girl' is bogus, her affinity for Brown is just icing on the cake of her pre-existing 'bad girl' image. Her liking Brown despite the beatings did not give her that image.
And Swift's behavior is not 'acceptable.' They aren't seeing it like you and I are, as a girl jumping from one stud to another, and saying "Yes, that makes her a princess!" They're saying, "oh, these men are terrible and just don't know when to commit, Taylor must be in such distress, bla bla bla." They're mostly ignoring it in fact, because they desperately want a princess, so they'll look past the flaws of the closest substitute for one.
Aside from a few Jezebel feminists, white American girls don't want to be sluts and bang lots of men. They think they just want one great man. (Reality: they tire of each man in due time). "It just happens" because "the right man hasn't come around yet." All the men she thought were the right men turned out to be the "wrong" men.
