Cordoba or Medellin?

I'm 33, so still under the 35-40+ age group, but getting closer.

How friendly will the day game sets be towards a 33 year old foreigner (American) with beginners Spanish in Cordoba and Medellin?

I was recently checking out a dating site for Argentina (badoo.com) and it was interesting to see that so many girls were looking for a guy up to 8 to 10 years older. Some even older than that. So different than the US.

Which will be friendlier?
This is a really interesting question. I would say that I've gotten stronger initial friendliness in Cordoba. For example, the other day I was speaking English with my friend in the middle of a crowded club. A young cute girl standing next to me overheard and was looking at us wide-eyed, straight up starring. She was enamored. I was probably the first American she had ever seen. I saw her out the corner of my eyes, I assumed she spoke some english, and opened her in english and got a conversation going in spanglish.

BUT... and this is a big but.... What good is the initial friendliness I'm getting in cordoba if its MUCH harder to get to the final goal of sex?

Girls in Medelln were less friendly, but still friendly. Not as much status for americans there. But much easier to get laid in the end.

Cordoba or Medellin?

I've must of traveled just about every country in Central and South America over the course of the last decade. I am a Spanish-American guy, and have compared my results with my "white-boy" all-american buddy who is from Ohio, and has blue-eyes, blond hair and limited Spanish skills. He has been my wing in many of these adventures.

So, here is what I have witnessed and experienced:

If you are a good looking Latino-American guy (1st/2nd generation born in the US) with fluent Spanish skills, you will get laid easily anywhere except Argentina and Peru (it will be a bit more difficult - I'll explain why). You DO have a huge advantage of closing becuase you know Spanish/Portuguese, you even know the BS game, and shields women will use or won't use against you. However, I have noticed that the easiest of bangs for Hispanic-American guys that are raised/born in North America is Colombia, especially cities off the beaten path like Valledupar and Cucuta, and Pereira.

The Gringos:

If you are a decent looking gringo (white blue/green eyed dude whith limited spanish skills) You will get laid easier in Brazil, Honduras/El Salvador (definitely anywhere in C.A), and Panama, and please do yourself a favor and go to El Salvador, you will fly back home in a wheelchair from all the sex you will have!

Mexico is good for gringos too, but Mexican women are used to seeing gringos get hammered during spring break and Gringos are not really a novelty as a Spaniard or Puerto Rican in Mexico. However, you will still get laid....so have fun.

Now, this is not a formal survey by any means, just 10 years of expereince in the field and observations.

Gringo with limited skills - head to Argentina, Brazil, and rural parts of Colombia and Honduras/El Salvador. When in Colombia, gringos should avoid Medellin and Bogota - and just head to Cali, Cartagena or any other city. Medellin and Bogota DO have possibilities, but you must overcome serious sex tourist stigmata, or just focus on the lower class HB 6's.

Latino-American dude with very fluent spanish skills, and decent looks: Head anywhere, but avoid Argentina and Peru as they are the most "racist" towards other Latin american countries - unless you are Puerto Rican, then you will get laid easily in Argentina and Peru vs you say you are a Spaniard or Mexican. I was going to a club in Peru one time, and the idiot doorman, wanted to let my friend in and not me - I later learned that it was a way to avoid keeping black-hair tanned skin guys out - it even happens to the local Peruvian guys. When I cursed the doorman out in English (and pretended I knew little spanish) that fucker let me in!

I've had the most success in Argentina saying I am Puerto Rican and avoid saying I am a Spaniard (too much soccer tension between the 2 countries).

Somehow, very few Puerto Ricans travel to Argentina, and if they do, they are seen as a huge novelty, and interesting men as 90% popular Latin music comes from Puerto Rico that these women love.

Once I said I was Puerto Rican (and left out the competitive soccer Spaniard with a Puerto Rican Spanish accent of course) - I had sex about 4x per week with a different woman in Cordoba, Mendoza and Buenos Aires...

Food for thought...

Enjoy the life!

Cordoba or Medellin?

I’ve been reading some of the posts on this forum and it’s starting to make me reconsider my decision to go to Colombia this December-January. I want to go to a big city in a Latin American country to live for 1 month but am not so sure about Colombia’s biggest cities. My main goal is to improve my Spanish, with banging some hot girls a close second. I’m an average looking white guy from UK & Ireland. This is a summary of what I’ve found out about the main Colombian cities so far:

Bogota – weather not great, so I’m not considering it

Barranquilla – girls are easier than rest of Colombia and they like foreigners, but the city is pretty ugly. I’m not very keen in going to an ugly city for a month

Cartagena – more expensive, more touristy, so am not very interested

Medellín – nice metropolitan city, but lots of people mention that it’s full of gringos, plus the girls are very difficult here, particularly if you’re white. I’m still a little tempted by the city.

Cali – Don’t know as much about Cali, it seems to be poorer and the most dangerous of the main cities. This is the Colombian city I am most keen on at the moment

Outside of Colombia I’m only considering two other Latin American countries. Have been recommended Argentina (Buenos Aires and Cordoba) by a number of people, but it seems like they’re more European and the girls are whiter, which doesn’t interest me as much. Am also interested in Mexico, particularly Guadalajara, but I’d quite like to visit South America. For other countries like Peru, which others on the forum seem to say is easier for a white person, I don’t think their Spanish is as easy so not keen there.

The questions I have are:

How do Medellin and Cali compare?

How difficult are the girls in Medellin? More difficult than USA/UK?

How dangerous is Cali? I will be planning to be out by myself quite a lot in the daytime and will also want to hit some clubs and get a bit pissed on some nights. It seems like most of the danger can be avoided by staying out of the rough neighbourhoods?

Can anyone recommend any other Latin American cities that are reasonably metropolitan (>1 million) to spend one month in, which have great weather, good Spanish, and beautiful dark women?

medellin v cali

women are way prettier in medellin. weather is better in medellin. nightlife is better in medellin. women are more up themselves in medellin.

cali is only dangerous late at night if ur walking around alone.

if you are a good looking guy with decent game u will get more one night stands with girls in UK. if you cant get girls in Uk and don't mind spending money on girls and putting time in taking them out paying for meals, taxis etc etc u will get laid in colombia.

Cordoba or Medellin?

Hey guys.. first time poster. Going to firstly point out how stoked I am to have found this forum - a goldmine of information on how to pull local girls while travelling, which is highly relevant to my interests [Image: banana.gif]

I'm bumping this thread as I'm considering this exact pair of cities as somewhere to live for 2 months learning Spanish. I'm actually flying to Argentina in a couple of days so have left the decision quite late. I'm essentially deciding between:

1. Cordoba for 2 months
2. Medellin for 2 months
3. 1 month in each

After that I am meeting my friends in Brazil for the World Cup.

I've also considered Barranquilla and Bogota but think Medellin would be superior if I pick Colombia.

Having located PartyTime's Cordoba thread I think I could do a lot worse than just start in Cordoba and go from there, but anyone else's opinions would be highly valued

Note to say I have been to Colombia before, but I spoke very minimal Spanish at the time, so I am very keen to go back with improved Spanish. I've been to Argentina before but not to Cordoba as I was there in January.
