"3,000 women in three years"

kdolo: I agree with almost everything you said in your latest post, and I appreciate your having phrased it so cogently. That primal scenario is something I think about a lot: it's definitely not something I've forgotten. The one thing I'd point out, though, specifically in reference to the case of famous musicians, is that music should play a somewhat different role in modern life than it did in primitive life, and it would be good for society to recognize that.

Music has two basic functions. The first function is to create pleasure by artificially stimulating the part of our hearing system that's evolved, for survival reasons, to identify certain sounds as being good, healthy, and reassuring, as opposed to other sounds that are identified as being bad, unhealthy, and dangerous. Music is an artificial construction that maximizes the good sounds and usually minimizes the bad sounds (mostly using them as a sort of flavoring), somewhat like cuisine, which maximizes good, desired food elements and usually minimizes bad, undesired ones, again using the latter for flavoring. (Many spices are actually poisons of one kind or another.)

The second function of music is to be a courtship display of neurological fitness and general healthiness: intelligence, fine perception, muscular coordination, skilled vocal production, and so forth. That's what women are responding to when they go crazy over some famous musician. But in the modern world, there are better ways of demonstrating those qualities than getting up on stage and singing or playing an instrument. A man can show his intelligence far more accurately by getting a Ph.D. in electrical engineering or biochemistry than by being a musician. General health can be demonstrated better by medical checkups and testing than by demonstrating how nice your singing voice sounds and how well you move in a musical performance. And muscular coordination, while nice, and still useful for lots of things, isn't quite as important as it used to be when it could be a matter of life or death in hunting or fighting for large numbers of men. (And I'm not trying to make excuses for myself by saying that: I'm a reasonably coordinated guy, and in fact a Chinese woman gave me her cell number in Beijing last year partly because she was turned on by my typing speed on my laptop.) I wish more women would appreciate those facts, and be more willing to judge men by substantive modern criteria than by the primitive criteria of music.

I'm happy to judge women by modern criteria myself, by the way. Lately I've been dating a cute young Asian math professor, and that gets my gonads jumping a lot more than watching Lady Gaga. (Although between my math professor and pianist Yuja Wang, it'd be closer to a draw.)

you'll have your social calendar filled in no time - mostly bored wives, students, "interns/secretaries", etc.....

Yes! I was on student council in high school (I was also the qb on the football team)

I was on the "community outreach" board in college. Lots of opportunities to meet girls!

Former SF mayor Gavin Newson is a great example of this!

He [apparently meaning me, gds555] also has some really bad memories from falling from his bike at the age of 5.

Okay, Neil, I'm sorry for the mean things I said about Mick Hucknall in my post. I didn't realize you were so fond of retarded music, retarded music videos, and retarded women who only really want to spread their legs for morons and parasites, not for enlightened men who contribute to the progress of society. Maybe, since you like Mick so much, you could stake out his house and see if you could talk him into a quick blow job to remind him of the good old days.

Just for the record, I haven't made any significant contributions to the progress of society myself; I just feel sorry for the significant number of men who've done so, and have been rewarded by women with little more than contempt, abuse, and exploitation. And I have experienced a tiny amount of groupie-like attention in my life: some from some musical activities I was involved in, some from being an American traveler in China, and some from being known as a top student and top musician in high school (yes, that can happen, believe it or not). Of course it's a microscopic amount compared to what real groupie targets experience, but I appreciated it anyway.

The point of my post was that women are a force for degeneration in society when they give inordinate sexual rewards to men whose contribution to the culture is trashy and trivial, and largely deny those rewards to men who foster real progress in the arts, invent new technologies, cure diseases, or do any of the many other things that most people would agree make life genuinely better in the long run. Someday I'd like to see some feminist try to justify or excuse that kind of female behavior, without resorting to some vapid statement like "the patriarchy makes them do it".

It wouldn't bother me if it were the case that, say, a male winner or probable future winner of a Nobel or Pulitzer Prize could count on spending his life being effortlessly showered with pussy. But Mick Hucknall? Fuck that. That's a disgrace to the human species.

Dude! Nice rant but I was seriously chiming in on your joking and made a joke about Mick Hucknalls video. He seems to have some childhood trauma in the video about falling of his bike.

No need to write some quasi intelligent rant towards me. Just watch the video. ( 0:47,3:09 and 3:47)

And don't be jealous of Mick . It's a bit sad.

I didn't think this band was that big at all. Reading this thread he seems to have had the life of Mick Jagger. I seriously thought the guy was gay.

Seriously, I wouldn't take as face value anything any unknown woman anywhere tells me (let alone in a poor country).

Having said that, yes, it's true, Chinese are impressed by schooling. Education game is second there (after cash and apartment game).

Well, maybe she would have approached me even without the typing just because I was Caucasian, but I got the distinct impression that the typing helped a lot. It happened at a Holiday Inn where the staff isn't strict about checking whether everybody hanging out in the lobby has a right to be there (even though the sofas are in full view of the front desk), so that various people--certainly not derelicts, though at the same time often not quite well-dressed enough to be entirely believable as hotel guests--just come in and sit on the sofas for a while. This woman, who wasn't a hotel guest, was neatly dressed, and was waiting for a friend of hers to meet her so that they could go shopping at the department store a block away. As I sat on one of the sofas writing e-mails, I started to realize that she was looking at me and smiling; then she caught my eye and, laughing, imitated my typing and complimented me on it. We started chatting, and she slipped me her phone number a few minutes later, in part, I think, so that I wouldn't ask her for it, which might have annoyed the Chinese men sitting nearby.

This conversation was also memorable because in the course of it she pseudo-accidentally brushed my crotch with the back of her hand, as I've described in an earlier thread, "Felt up by Asian women" (http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-12644.html).

Neil, my apologies--sincere ones, this time--for going off on you. I hadn't paid totally close attention to the video, and that part hadn't registered with me. (Although, looking at the video now, I'd say that the falling-off-the-bike incident seems to be a relatively happy memory for the singer, focusing on how comforting his mother was.) Your chiming in on my joking is appreciated.

Yes, I'm jealous of Mick--you seem to be jealous too, based on your various comments--but I was trying to keep myself out of the picture, and just speak up for all the guys who've knocked themselves out in their lives with really difficult and important work, working much harder than I have and much harder than the band Simply Red has, and who in most cases have gotten sexual rewards from the women of the world ranging from minimal to zero. I honestly don't know how some of them manage to keep going.

GDS555,

you have to remember how recent "civilization" is to the modern human experience.

We have live 90% of out time on this planet as hunter-gatherers.......

So, the instincts of both males and females reflect where we have as a species spent most of out time: out in the wilds, predators, other tribes, elements, uncertain food and water, etc.

We have'nt had time for our instinct to evolve to civilization. Maybe in another 100,000 years, women will evolve to get wet for "Beta".....

We trash the whole "making a connection" thing, but here's how I think this guy, and other famous performers, work.

Through his music, he builds a huge amount of comfort. You really feel like you know this guy when you listen to him sing.

But, since he's a famous rock-star, he's also this un-touchable entity.

It's the ultimate push-pull game, and contrast is king.

This is like a hamster nuke.

Ok, cool.

Nope, not jealous of Mick because I know its part of being a star to get laid like that.
Back when he was so popular I really didn't like his music and listened to the Beastie boys or hard rock music.
If I listen to his songs now, I can actually appreciate his voice a bit and the lyrics. Must be because i'm getting older now.

Far more than 90%. Modern humans have been around for about 200,000 years.

Agricultural revolution started about 10,000 years ago which is only 5% of the last 200,000 years. Bearing in mind that it started in the middle east and did not arrive in countries like Australia and the US until the Europeans arrived 5-600 years ago you see that it took about 9,500 years to spread globally.

Figure is more like 98% of the time.

Only money + prostitutes, or being gay can get you that kind of volume.

The new guy is an old timer who wrote a really awesome book we should all run out and buy. He came back as some kind of sex revolution guru. I'm sure he can back all of it up with some solid credentials.

If the book isn't in your local store, you can grab a copy from the author directly when he comes to crash on your couch.

Magic talked extensively about how he didn't allow the bitches to fuck with his performance of his job. He never claimed to bang two a day, but on occasion had orgies. He had a strict rule that they couldn't spend the night, because he had to get his rest for practice/games. When you're a celeb/athlete in LA (a Laker in particular), shit is CRAZY when it comes to groupies and sex/drug parties. Of course, there's the off-season too, when you might get in your workout and have plenty of time to chase tail. Magic had a deal with his now-wife Cookie. He told her when he was drafted by the Lakers that it wouldn't be fair to marry her knowing he was going to indulge in everything LA had to offer. If she was willing to hang in, she would be the one he married. She hung back in Michigan and Magic kept his promise. Of course, by the time she got him he had the HIV, but it all worked out...kind of.

Fuck - you can't even imply that women who throw themselves on famous cock are shallow sluts anymore.

Nope... it was his seductive curls.

Apologizing for sleeping with 3000 women = the biggest humble brag I've ever heard.

If he just said "I banged 3000 women" no one would believe. By cloaking it as an apology the number slips by you, and women pick up the sub-communication.
