What is one idea or suggestion that would take this forum to the next level?

I think the forum is pretty good as is.

The forum should only get better, naturally. The once a month registration policy is good for keeping crap posters out. Dudes who are into both getting chicks and international travel seem to be a pretty smart bunch.

I don't think additional subforums would be a good idea.

Privacy is obviously a concern for a lot of people.

This isn't necessarily for us but more for Roosh. He should have a donation button on his blog and the forum. I think with all the great free advice and data sheets some guys are definitely going to kick Roosh down with some cash to help with server fees and to keep him traveling and keep the stories and advice coming.

I think even better and more practical than that, review Roosh's books on Amazon.

Above in the thread a couple guys mentioned Roosh giving discounts for his books... what about buying 1 of his book and then reviewing it on Amazon. Then asking him if you could have a 2nd book emailed to you for free... in which you'll also review that one. I think he'd be up for that... win-win.

Some sort of "verified" icon.

Not to create two classes of guys or to say one guy is better at game or anything like that.

But a simple icon indicating that the person does indeed exist; is who he says he is; etc.

There's limits to what a forum can be. If you want something better, use different software than a forum.

A wiki for travel reports, for instance, would be much a smarter format than the current archived thread system.

A "culled knowledge" wiki could also be an improvement. Since Tuth is always pulling certain threads (Picking up waitresses, picking up shop girls) saying a topic's already been covered, it might be more useful to enter that data into a wiki as definitive and necro the thread.

Forum requests:
- 4 hour edit window. (Some of us have back-to-back meetings during the day, and only afterwards notice we thick fingered a post)
- Delete works during the 4 hour edit window. (Sucks posting "duplicate post" when we hit the "Reply" button instead of the "Edit" button)
- Pruning of drek. If no one's posted or searched for a thread in over a year delete it, which will speed up search.
- A different website name than "Rooshv". I'm concerned about Roosh getting exposed too much in RL with newspapers in Brazil, Denmark, and other countries attacking him, and even girls in bars able to look him up by name on their smart phones. I'd like to see him choose a new pen name that doesn't match his passport, start a different site, and he gets to run incognito again. Or is that just a futile wish? (Considering changing your name is $85, it'd probably be cheaper for Roosh to change his legal name and keep marketting through the old name. Hopefully he would not choose a dorkass new legal name like "Kim Dotcom".)

"Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They're too stupid to be able to read or write. Besides they wear black, which is such a beastly color. I'm so glad I'm a Beta."

The "like a post" system has been working well since it was introduced. A post with a high number of likes tends to be high quality.

Maybe the total number of likes can be used to generate a short list of appreciated posts.

Once a month, you could use that short list to come up with suggestions for new Hall of Fame threads.

The "Possibly Related Threads" section is awesome for first time visitors. They visit one page on RVF based on a Google search or referral from another site. Then they start clicking around to other interesting content here. Then they sign up and start contributing.

See if you can get the forum to generate another batch of interesting thread links. But instead of driving it from related posts, build it from the short list of highly liked posts. Call it "Posts of the week" and put it on the forum front page. The idea is to increase the stickiness of the forum to first time visitors.

I think the first part of this post you're onto something. The data sheets are what sets this forum apart from all the other pick up blogs. Roosh has a treasure trove of sheets here. Part of taking things to the next level is making the data sheets more organized, easier to find, more interactive. Having them centralized instead of having to dig for it. Perhaps even utilizing some of the powerful features of Google maps to make then more dynamic. It's a bit of an undertaking but I think it's inevitable that all that information is going to have to be consolidated into some sort of wiki to be most functional.

If there's one thing I would appreciate, it's a forum that is not accessible to non-members or indexed by search engines.

A sub-forum to handle beefs. Perhaps keep it members-only. It will stop the derailing of threads. I think it is better if beefs are viewable as opposed to pm since it is entertaining to see arguments. It can also serve as a driving factor for members to be more active here.

You can change your name in the US for only 85 bucks??. In Holland it's like a 1000 dollar and it will take a lot of paperwork. I'd pay 85 dollars to have Skywalker in my passport. [Image: smile.gif]

Maybe a forum member discount for your books. A certain number of likes achieved on your posts earns you some RooshBucks
you can use for an upcoming book, coffee mug, t-shirt etc. Just a way to increase the quality of post content.

It could dramatically increase your sales Roosh. Well maybe not dramatically but significantly.

That's a really good idea. Gives people an incentive to post data sheets and contribute positively.

1. mod your top guys on here, the 5-10 that contribute the most, post great shit, it makes them feel good, and more importantly keeps them around since they contribute the most. You don't have to to give them power over everything, maybe certain sections or whatever. Encourages them to stay active and post more.
2. set up a private forum and let everyone know it exists and to get into it you have to have a certain number of posts or be recommended or whatever requirement you set. Some sort of VIP room. Every major forum seems to have a VIP section and it can be where you can go to get exclusive content and also not have to worry as much about info being shared with the wrong people.
3. find ways to encourage more posting...forums die when posting declines...and one way I think that really helps is to reward quality posts/threads with a recommend/neg feature sort of like bodybuilding forums. That model is great which is why they seem to do so well. Or in your case, you could even do giveaways of ebooks, phone consultation, email consultation, whatever you think would be good to some of your poster of the months/contributor of the month/week/etc.

That's just off the top of my head...I don't know enough about the forum yet, maybe some of this is already in place.

I think a case study sub forum would be a good sub forum to have because a lot of dating is social psychology and experimentation and a lot of guys often wonder, what did I do wrong in this case. Or could share a case study of something that went right and the steps they followed. That could be helpful.

How about a "Sloppy Seconds / Eskimo Brothers" subforum for the well-known / established players. Share sluts and e-sluts.

Half kidding.

Have the datasheets organized in one subsection under Travel. Each city/location should have just one thread to make things simple. Just have to figure out how to combine existing multiple sheets for a city/location.

Was Jetset Playboy banned for that one (and only) post?

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

I've long thought wiki type of pages, as mentioned earlier would be a brilliant idea for the travelers here. I claim to be no expert on web design, but how feasible would that be? I'm thinking wikitravel for players

Take for example, Bangkok. There is such an enormous amount of information on it, but it's scattered across multiple threads and takes a few hours to sift through the information. Additionally, I'd be much more apt to post short immediate observations about a place, rather than creating a post/thread.

To me, this forum doesn't exist as a pissing contest to see who can make the most posts. I want high quality content, and especially when traveling, I strive to provide others with high quality posts based off of what I see and do. A centralized place would be ideal.

However, I understand the importance of the open forum as your lifeblood. Perhaps continue the forum as is, and create a Wikibang for members only access?

Wikibang.org?

is it possible to introduce "handles" (@username)? they could be useful for letting know that other users used them to mention you or quote you and you could be informed of it in user CP or something like that. kind of like twitter and its Home section.

There needs to be a serious sub-forum on Making Money.

The ideal setup is one where a man has access, vis-a-vis his lifestyle, to hot girls and great logistics.

Unless you have these two areas handled wherever you go, you need to start hustling.

Fundamentally, if the site can be taken to a next level, it's going to be through quality improvements to the lives of users. It's not going to be through superficial formatting changes. It would improve core aspects of your life, like:

*Health
*Fitness
*Style
*Career
*Social Life
*Hobbies
*Girls
*Traveling

I don't have any big ideas at the moment, but I'm pretty sure that for any addition to be a real improvement, it has to enhance your life in one or more of those categories. Not that anyone should rely on a forum for making your life better, but if it has that effect, that's pretty laudable. Of course, it is successful at these already. Taking the forum to the next level means taking these successes to the next level.

Compare to Facebook. Aside from maybe helping people initially get in touch with lost friends, does Facebook help any of those things? No. Sites like Facebook and other 'social networks' define success as 'people spend more time on our site.' Obviously, we have a more expansive definition of success.

How about having a forum Re: all banned members, where Roosh can describe, if he wants, why that member was banned, and then we can all make fun of the banned members at our discretion...you know, bringing up stupid old posts, or otherwise generally tooling on them. At no such time in this new forum shall any existing member give Roosh any lip about whether he should or shouldn't have banned that member. We can call it the Dash Global sub Forum....possibly only appropriate for spectacular bans.
