Data Sheet: Kansas City

Went to Mosaic last night. Was not disappointed. Audien performed a great set, just the kind of music that I like.

Lots of very cute girls, and a great number of open sets. I mostly approached groups with observations about the environment. Easy to talk with people.

Around 1 AM it became dude heavy. I didn't count, but I'm talking like 6:1 guy-to-girl ratio. I bounced shortly afterward.

Some guy I met there told me that Mosaic normally has hella dudes. That wasn't my experience last night, but I'll probably check it out again tonight to confirm (unless there's a cover charge).

Any of you guys been to the Green Lady Lounge or Majestic Restaurant? There's jazz bars/restaurants, seems like it'd be a cool place to swoop. Gonna check them out either tonight or tomorrow night

checking in with the black girls... they are plentiful in ole' Saint Louie. Just check tinder if you can't imagine. Many slaves escaped the south and went north/west which means many originally went from the deeper south straight thru missouri in hopes of refuge. Many of them we helped, but I guess the other half weren't so lucky (only state in the history of the union to be half slave/ half free. Meet me in Saint Louie for some big bootied hos you guys!

LOL, how plentiful are the big booty black babes in KC? What appeals to me about KC is the fact it looks nice and the cost of living is insanely low. It is very sprawling, however.

I've never been there but I've heard that there are lots of All-American type of girls in Kansas City and Lincoln, Nebraska? Blonde, freckles, green/blue eyes, curvy girls.

Is that true? If it is, I have to check it out for sure.

^Yes it's true.

The line between curvy and overweight is blurry here, though

Lately we've been hitting up One Block South (Overland Park). I'm not particularly a fan of country music, but Kanza Hall has been good to me. I've had success there.

DMario and I hit up First Friday's this past weekend. I recommend either Up/Down or Ruin's Pub. Both places are usually crawling with ladies, but Ruin's is better environment for approaching.

Almost all the girls I met, from Nebraska and Kansas City were blonde and I met quite several, like around 10.

I feel like there are only blondes there.

Just finished a trip in Kansas City and wanted to pass on some information to help others.

Daygame:
Country Club Plaza. The advice about it is accurate. It seemed like the best times were around the lunch hour as you would have people miling around and also find some girls sitting and eating at cafes that you could talk to. You will even find a few girls sitting alone probably on their lunch break.

Mill Creek Park. Next to the Plaza is Mill Creek Park which in theory should be a good place to meet girls out jogging or walking the rubberized trail. The problem is that the trail is populated by an easily visible bum population which discourages said woman to run on the trail. Instead, I would see a number of woman run across the street and actually run down the streets of the shops in the Plaza. So if you want to meet girls walking their dog or on a jog, the street across from the park is a likely better spot.

River Market/City Market. A surprise daygame place I found was the River Market/City Market. I was going there for breakfast at Beignet but the area basically has a farmers market setup with a number of shops around the edges. This had a family feel to it but there were a number of attractive woman around in the morning. Easy to approach and talk to people especially for the morning.

Nelson-Atkins Museum. Is another good place to daygame. The museum itself is also nice and rather extensive plus it has a giant outdoor lawn which make for some cool stuff to see and take a break in. The only challenge here is the parking where it will cost you $10 to park in the indoor garage or you will have to find a place somewhere to park outside which is surprisingly very challenging.

Other possibilities. I did not have the time to try these but I have a feeling that coffee and breakfast places could have potential as well in the mornings and later in the day for the coffee. You will run across a couple in the Plaza but I also saw one in Westport (Broadway Cafe) that had a hipster/bohemian vibe that seemed active. Plus, I saw these listed elsewhere as possibilities: Javanaut in Westport and Roasterie in Brookside.

Nightgame:
Green Lady Lounge. This place has some good potential with a few limitations. It is setup like a railcar where the band plays at the front and then on one side is a bar and the other is a bunch of tables with both going all the way to the back. This place does draw a good number of people but it can be hard to approach closer to the front door where the band is playing because the music is loud. As you might guess, people tend to congregate near the band as well. The good news is as the night goes on you tend to see people move towards the back of the bar to talk and this creates approach opportunities. So I would imagine the better strategy would be to either approach people at the front of the bar and quickly move them to the back or middle of the bar with the reason so you can talk and be heard or simply camp out at the middle of the bar and wait for people to start moving back on their own. The other problem is the lightning is very dark so it is hard to see the girls until you get very close to them. The dress code was still fairly lax here despite having a more of a classy kind of setup. It seems that causal clothing like jeans and shirt was just fine here. Also, bar prices were consistent with other regular bars with mixed drinks at $5. No Vegas pricing here.

Ruin's Pub (Bar)
The information on this bar is accurate as well. Of the regular bars, it is probably the one most setup for approaches. You can post up at the bar and talk to girls as they come to the bar or even approach those seated at tables. I did experience some cockblocking by some of the local guys in this bar as I talked to their group of women but that is to be expected.

Up/Down Bar
Again, the intel on this bar is also accurate. A little harder to approach in simply because of its setup. In theory, this should be a fun spot and it is in some ways but not as much for game. It seemed there were less women here and the bulk of them were in relationships or you would see a couple of girls to approach only see their group of their 4 or 5 guys/boyfriend show up. I doubt there are many girls or small groups of girls going to this bar.

La Bodega
This is actually a restaurant that sells tapas. I had dinner here around 6:00pm and noticed that their bar was quite active and the place was full of women with very few men. Seems this may be a popular place for women to pre-party and so think it should be one to consider especially since it is earlier in the evening and still not interfere with other spots later in the evening.

Beer Kitchen/Ale House/Flying Saucer/Draft House
There were a lot of these standard bar/pub places. I visited these on Sunday evening and the crowds were sparse but I could see where one or two of these could be good choices on a Friday or Saturday. If I were to pick, I would probably lean towards the Ale House or Beer Kitchen. There is also an outdoor bar across the street from the Beer Kitchen too.

Game notes:
1. As others have said, the people are friendly and will listen to you but this does create a problem with determining IOIs. To combat this, I would suggest making a marked effort to be more direct and keep steering the conversation away from these platonic nice person conversations as there will be a strong tendency by the women to take conversations in this direction. Instead, flirt and tease and don't be afraid to break the decorum taboos: say cuss words, sexualize conversation, etc. This can be a challenge here because you will feel the pressure and uncomfotablity. For example, I got a dirty look on a couple of ocassions when I said an idle cuss word at a bar which has never happened to me anywhere else. But I still think you are far better off taking this risk and embracing this role as the loud mouth rebel/outsider and allow that distinction to filter girls for you.

2. There are a lot of cliques. People don't seem comfortable venturing outside of their groups. This creates a lot of social awkwardness as it does not appear there are that many people approaching woman. A large number of women will very quickly ask you the question of how long you are in town for and file you into the no category upon finding out you will be leaving soon. There are exceptions to this but this is not as great as other major cities.

3. Only two nights worth nightgaming are Friday and Saturday night.

4. Good news for black men is I noticed a number of white women, especially working class women, openly talking up black guys. There was also a good number of mixed couples.

Restaurants:
BBQ Places:
I ate at two BBQ places: Jack Stack and Q39. Jack Stack is poor barbecue and Q39 is pretty good. Also, tried to eat at Oklahoma Joes (now just Joes) but the line was too long. I presume this is a good sign that it has good barbecue but you will want to show up before it opens to secure your spot.

Beignet:
Is basically a place that sells pastries. In this case, a beignet is a cross between a donut and a soft biscuit with powdered sugar. A tasty diversion but even better is discovering the daygame possibility in this area.

Beer Kitchen:
Has a wide selection of beers but also makes a pretty good hamburger as well.

Margaritas Amigos:
This is a standard Tex-Mex type place with cheap prices and decent food. The big draw is the margaritas and apparently can get quite busy at certain times. On the time I went, the place had more a family bar type feel with a cross between some cougars and younger girls that were all wearing the same shirts. Margaritas is near two other similar type bars: Ponak's and El Patron. I had mixed thoughts on whether one of these spots might be good but was unsure when would be the best time when the younger women would show up and be less cougar townish. I am sure someone here would know the answer to this one.

Port Fonda:
This is a hipster place where I nursed a hangover with some breakfast. It had good ratings and am sure it would be a pretty good spot for lunch or dinner.

Corner Restaurant:
This had a hippie/bohemian vibe for a breakfast place. Typical items like biscuits and gravy, french toast, pancakes, etc. Pretty good food.

Cheaper places:
I ate at El Pollo Rey. This is an authentic Mexican food place that sells grilled chicken. It is good and cheap. There is also a slew of other places that were recommend to me that you could consider that I missed: Longboards, The Bite, Happy Gillis.

General notes:
1. You will need to get a car to go around. However, recognize that because of all the hills, the roads go in every direction and even the GPS can't keep up. You will commit all kinds of moving violations here and after a couple of days, you won't care about doing it either. I would strongly suggest because of these challenges to use lyft/uber at night when drinking to reduce your risk of an accident. Don't want have to add to your list of things to worry about, did I miss the turn, where am I now, and where can I park. Costs for these services are reasonable too. Also, on this note, check each hotel because some do have parking garages where costs are already covered with the hotel stay.

2. It is smart to tip well. Costs of items are reasonable to begin with as mixed drink and beer prices normally around the $5.00 mark. Also, the wait staff and bartenders really appreciate a good tip. I get the feeling they get shortchanged a good bit. Good karma is involved her as you also reduce the risk of the cockblocking bartender and increase the odds they will better look out for you. But really to me it is just a nice thing to do as they do work hard.

3. It seems that Kansas City is not known for their asian food or pizza so keep that in mind when considering food options.
